I have to mirror "old mountain runner"'s review word for word. With the addition of the fact that these shoes were nearly impossible to get on. I also tried everything to wear them, but my bony feet (just below my ankles) rubbed on the inner lace 'housing'.and moleskin, even foam padding i tried to superglue inside, etc, didnt help. I assume my attempted modifications made them unreturnable, but I wish i could. I have 3 other pair of Salomons that I really like

This shoe physically hurt my feet ...when I have never delt with foot pain. (51 years old) Incredibly difficult to put the shoes on.
