I really, really wanted to like this jacket. It fits nicely, it's long, the pockets are perfect, the hood fits well, it zips up high, it seems a bit weather repellant, it's lightweight and packs small. Unfortunately, it just isn't warm at all. On multiple days in the forties and thirties, some windy, some not, it just did not keep me warm. So disappointed. It is being returned.

This is my regular size. Because it said "slightly fitted"...it turned out too small !! Love the jacket...why slightly fitted??? So sorry but if it wasn't "fitted" I would certainly keep it...but for $199. it's going back today !!!!

I bought this to wear to and from the car at the airport when traveling. I liked the feature of it packing into itself. I liked the fit and color but it was no more warmer than a heavy sweater. Disappointing. I should have bought the down one.

This version isn't for me. Love the older version from two years ago that offers a few inches more length, a two-way front zipper, deep zippered hand pockets, and is more useful and versatile as a result. If Bean brings back the older model with its many merits, I'll buy 3 more in different colors. Very lightweight, easily packable jacket that can go into sub zero with a good fleece layer underneath.

This jacket will not keep you warm in any circumstance unless you have something warm underneath, then it helps. Otherwise, you're stuck freezing indoors because it doesn't hold up to temperatures under 65 degrees. The fit is true to size and it's a great looking jacket, but I needed something for freezing weather. This isn't it.

I walked outside in it on a windy day with temps between 45-50 degrees. It blocked the wind quite well, but I felt the cold where the wind pushed the jacket fabric against me, especially my arms. The jacket is not warm enough even for a Northern California winter.

Love the color red! This is NOT warm at all unless you wear with heavy fleece and sweater. It's thin and they are trying to fool you that this is for 30degree temps. Not even comfortable in 45 deg. chilly temps hiking through the city streets. My cheapo poly vest is warmer. The only selling feature is that red color. Otherwise a waste of money.

I ordered this an XL because that was the only size left on sale. It was way too big. And I didn't like the colors. So that's my fault. But it also seemed more thin and lightweight than my previous packaway jacket. The hood especially seemed way too thin and cheap looking. I had to return it. I like the packaways, but will look for another style.

More like a base layer than a jacket. Misleading, as I would only wear this as a light fall jacket. Will not cut it in the Midwest winters, or even in Arizona during cold nights.

I'm a little baffled by the reviews of this jacket which lead me to try it saying that it was so warm in very freezing temps, I wore it yesterday 28 degrees here in upstate ny and my upper back and arms were very cold. I'm so disappointed cause I really love the iced blue color and the fit but it's just too much money to keep as a fall/spring jacket which is the only time it would be warm enough for me to wear here.

Did not like the different color zipper. I returned it.

I was looking for such a garment to use when traveling from our cold climate to a warm one without lugging a heavy jacket on the plane. I liked the idea of it being folded into it's own pocket. There were reviews saying it was not warm enough but considering that LL Bean marketed it to be warmer I bought it anyway. It may be allright if between 30-40 degrees but not -15 as advertised. I am keeping it for the convenience of it being so lightweight but I will freeze between the car and terminal. All things considered I say it is overpriced. The blue is a great color, though.

Unless you are actively moving this jacket will not keep you warm. What a disappointment. I froze at a football game and again in an observatory. I have had several bubble jackets that were warm. This one is very thin. It is like a spring jacket. I trusted LL Bean because I buy most of my clothes from them. This jacket is a loser. Do not buy it.

I wanted to love this jacket I originally ordered a petite medium. Too big. Sleeves way way too long. I then ordered a petite small. Better fit. Sleeves way way too long. I don't understand why the sleeves on a petite small jacket would be nearly 2 inches too long. Very disappointed..

So disappointed to have to return this, love the color and detail. I unfortunately ignored others' reviews about the strange hood design--I thought that surely it would be OK. Well, the hood is unusable. Just as another reviewer said, the elastic is so tight that it can't just be pushed back a bit on your head to make it work. It's either down touching your eyelids, very tight, or it can't be worn. Agree that it is very bell-shaped at the bottom, didn't love that, but I wouldn't have returned it except for the hood. Petite Small is my usual size, and this was a very roomy fit, lots of space for a heavy sweater or even a fleece hoodie underneath. I wish LLBean would include a picture of the model wearing the hood in their website pictures--that would have saved me the cost and hassle of the return.

The fit was a bit roomy for a petite XS. I read reviews prior to purchase, and I was OK with the long length. It ran very wide at the hips. I'm 5'2 and pear shaped and the XS was extra wide on me. But I thought it would be OK until I wore the jacket and froze my butt off. This jacket was not warm at all in 50 degree weather. I was so bummed because the look of the jacket is great. I wore a thick dry fit layer - one I usually wear under ski jacket- and this jacket was still cold.

Disappointed. Returned item. Not what I expected too lightweight.

I just received this jacket which I ordered online. For the money I paid (and it was on sale) it is so thin. I expected more from this item. It's like an insulated wind breaker and has no loft whatso ever.....I plan to return it.

was an online order for a christmas gift for my daughter...but wrong coat was in bag (both bag and invoice had correct coat info...but wrong coat inside bag). I called LL Bean customer service who checked and said correct coat is out of stock. So now my daughter didn't get a Christmas gift from me...she doesn't have her preferred winter coat...and I have to drive 25 minutes to an LL Bean store (or 10 minutes to UPS store) to return. What would I have done if they put a $30 coat in the bag that I spend $180 on...how would I have proved it was their packing error? Customer svc said that this sometimes happens (that the wrong coat is put in the bag). Odd. Very poor 1st experience with LL Bean. :(

I have an old version of this jacket in black. It worked very well with the black Gore-Tex Shell I had also bought. Then I gained weight and bought a new version of this jacket last winter, but in a pretty blue. The new jacket could not have been any thinner. It was like there was no insulation. I sadly returned it. This year I Iost weight and was surprised to find the old, black jacket fits and is nicely stuffed with plenty of insulation. I want a different color than black, but L L Bean lost its quality. I can't buy it anymore. I'll wear the old black jacket with the old black shell which was also made when LL Bean was a quality brand. It still looks good even though it's black.

Too small ordered an Xl very snug especially with a vest underneath when I bent over the zipper came unzipped from the bottom.

It's beautiful. But it is not at all capable of providing the warmth of a thin sweater

Love everything about this jacket BUT the first time I wore it I sat in my car and the zipper separated at the bottom! Sadly I will be returning this.
