Very warm, even on 27 degree morning in MA today! I love the fit, I'm just giving it 4 stars because I'm concerned about the hems on the hood and sleeves which seem a bit flimsy and I'm not sure how they'll last.

Returned this one (also ordered the down jacket to compare)... Preferred the jacket as this didn't seem as warm (at least it was less filled)... Would've definitely considered it if I wasn't in the geographic location that I am in! Also did like the fact that it is packable!

Very nicely made jacket. Got it as a gift.

It's warm, not bulky and very light about 12 oz. my only criticism is it should come with a stuff sack. otherwise Id give it 5 stars. I use it for hiking, xc skiing. have not tested it in wet weather yet. It replaces an older puffy that was too big. I wasn't sure I'd like black, but I do, and it looks great.

I do like the coat - it seems fairly warm, and it's not too unwieldy. I have been poked by a feather, which I wasn't expecting in such an expensive coat (it should NOT be shedding). I had a hard time deciding between XS and S - bought both and returned XS. The S is pretty wide on me, but the XS was tight across the bust and had sleeves that were kind of short. I'm about 5'8, 135, and generally wear a 4/6.

Light weight and warm. Only wish there would be a drawstring in the hood. Have one in my 850 long coat and it helps keep hood tight on windy days. Bought petite large and fits perfectly on my 5'2, 155 frame with correct sleeve length.

I love this jacket. I love the weight. I have worn it in all types of weather...and the fact that it dries quickly, and keeps me warm while wearing it, is a big plus for me. In colder weather, less than 30 degrees F. I wear it with layers and stay comfortable. I like wearing it when traveling, especially when you can pack it in the pocket/pouch and throw it in your carry-on is especially convenient. The reason for scoring it only with 4 Stars, is that I wish that it was a bit longer, especially in the back to cover my backside. I also wish that LL Bean jackets and coats came in prettier and bolder colors. Muted colors are great, but it would be nice to have other options.

I like it but I wish the hood could be adapted to fit snugly around my face.

After I located the pocket this is supposed to fit into and tried to stuff the jacket into that pocket, I gave up when it was about 2/3 inside. I like the product but the "stores in its own pocket" is more something to hope for than something to accomplish.

This is a well made jacket and very lightweight. However, I returned it because I felt the shoulders and the top part of the sleeves were too big and bulky looking. LLBean, please consider make this jacket with a trimmer sleeves. I have another popular brand winter jacket that has a nice slim look and I want my LLBean jacket to give a flattering look -- I don't want it to make me look bigger. I personally liked the longer sleeve length and the fit through the waist with a slight slimming effect.

Blue color is gorgeous. 850 Ultra light down hooded sweater is preferable to bulky style jacket offered in store. However, I returned the product because the fit was odd, The bottom fit was comfortable, while the top part of the jacket flared outward and was too large. I opted to return.

This is a very comfortable jacket, lightweight and warm. It does seem to run a little larger than the Ultralight 850 Jacket, which I also have. I ordered this in the same size as my jacket, XL, and it is a little roomy. I decided to keep it, since it allows me to wear more layers underneath, but next time I would probably order a large.

To wear my coat to often- it's coming though! I wish it's length was a few inches longer! It is definitely warm and will get good use if Old Man Winter has his way!

Love the style and look, and warm for a down sweater. I wear it indoors and outdoors in the 40's and I'm warm. The only complaint is that the feathers slightly shed because the stitching appears to not be as tightly sewn as it should. Also the material is lightweight and be careful of getting the jacket caught on sharp objects as it will cut the fabric. Hopefully, Bean will read my review and pick up on the above improvements.

I'm wearing it now with your cotton shirt and lightweight vest and I really need a fleece jacket underneath bc very windy! Otherwise it's great! Love the hood bc can put a beanie under! I ordered your warmer down coat! Very comfortable and I can stuff it into my backpack.

I am a bit disappointed with the warmth factor. I thought it would be warmer than it is. I may return it.

bagging fit around middle and sleeves are too long. Surprised this small feels like a medium.

but the cut is awkward. It flares out way too much in the hips. The zipper didn't lie flat either. Sadly I had to return it.

I ordered a medium, and it is huge! The hip flares out by a few inches on each side. I do not need the extra room in the hip so it looks awkward. Not sure a smaller size would solve this problem. I would try a smaller size, but at 6.50 to return this one I am very hesitant to try again. It would be nice to have an exchange option.

Very nice. Warm, too. This jacket replaced an 850 Down Jacket I purchased at least 15 years ago.

I love the color combination of this jacket and the new baffle stitching, but was not happy with how they changed the chest pockets. I have one other 850 sweater and two 850 jackets that I've bought over the past couple of years. They all have nice deep inside chest pockets. My other sweater even has an outside chest pocket. This new design sweater only has the inside chest pocket and it is way too shallow. I like to put my cell phone in that pocket but the first time I wore this sweater I didn't realize how shallow the pocket was. When I bent over my cell phone fell out and cracked. I've learned that the pocket is not very useful for holding my phone unless I zip the zipper. It's just a change in this product that I am not happy with.

I thought I'd like the color, but didn't like the shine. I'm more comfortable wearing black in the winter.

I love the style and color of this jacket but returned it because I didn't care for the hood. So I got the same jacket without the hood and it fits better. However I am not sure I will keep this one either. No one at LL Bean can give me an idea as to what temperatures this jacket will be good for. I am going to Alaska in September and have no idea if this jacket will do the trick. And if not, what layers should I wear under or over it.
