Love the concept of the Downtek, but it just does not seem to work in practice. The down escapes from the shell continually, perhaps because the stitching on the shell is not tight enough to contain the very fine down. I consistently need to remove these many small feathers from my clothing each time I take off the down sweater. In terms of warmth, the Downtek works well, although it is not top-notch.

I buy one of these every year to wear as a sweater or a layer under a jacket. Last year the styling was different but doable. This year I ordered my usual size medium and I had to check twice to be sure I hadn't been sent a men's jacket. It's big through the body, several inches too long (I'm 5'8") and extremely wide across the bottom. Pulling the elastic toggles only makes the hemline poof out. Also, the shadow green is unlike any color I've ever seen. It's a muddy, dreary gray-green. Truly disappointed and am sending this back.

I bought this in Freeport, Maine, at the flagship LLBean Store. I tried on many different jackets and decided that this was the best jacket to get me through fall temps down to the 30s, and again in the spring when it starts warming up here in Maine.
Somehow the word "sweater" has appeared in the description, but I don't remember it being there when I purchase it on Oct. 11, 2024.
Rididng in the car, shopping for groceries, it is perfect. Walking with two full layers underneath, outside, at 44 degrees with a slight breeze and I am freezing! I spent way too much money for what I thought was a jacket to keep me warm before the real winter coat was needed.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Good fit and compact for traveling. Keeps me warm to about 60 degrees, so its better when used with other layers. Unfortunately, after less than a dozen wears, a feather poked out, causing a hole in the shell.

The fit of this jacket was way off sadly. Sleeves were way too long and the jacket just did not fit. Way too big overall. I really wanted this as a mid season jacket. I am 5'5" and 140lbs. A medium normally would give me the fit I want. I returned it.

It was an attractive jacket but there was almost no down inside the jacket. So it had no warmth to it at all. Not what I expected for a down garment. Returned it.

I loved the color the purple but the X-Large was too small across the shoulders .I would repurchased if plus size and color were added to catalogue-PLEASE !

I love the idea of this jacket, but Petite XS and Regular XXS were way too long in the arms, and the sleeves were too wide, making me look ridiculous.

I purchased a down sweater several years ago and it was time for fresh look, so I ordered the same size since my old one fits perfectly. The new one is much too large! Luckily, I needed a birthday gift for my sister, so she couldn't be happier! Me, not so much.

I am very disappointed in this product. Expected better quality, especially at this high price point. Ordered it last Thanksgiving and noticed during the holidays that one of the stitch lines that holds the down in place started falling and then pulling out. Before long, a section of the lined stitching was missing. After the holidays, I exhanged it (around Feb). Then, the new one had a stitch line start to loosen and pull out. It was in a different place. Both times the problem was visible when I wore the coat. Still wearing the second coat and disappointed everything I see the missing stitch line and thread hanging. Can't believe it happened twice!

I was really looking forward to wearing this jacket. It fit my relatively petite, narrow shouldered curvy figure well and seemed like it would work out despite feeling rather plastic and not as breathable as I wanted. However, the first time I tried wearing it, the fabric tore under normal usage, not even doing anything athletic. It must have rubbed on something because i found a feather later then realized there was a 1-2" gash near the bottom of the sleeve. Since this was supposed to be a reasonably rugged jacket for every day wear, I am returning it rather than getting a replacement. I don't want to tiptoe around in it.

I like the coat, but do not like the deceptive availability and pricing that has gone on. I originally ordered the coat in person at the LL Bean store, I then get an email out of stock 2 days later. so I go to another color, first it is back ordered, then out of stock at the sale price, but I could buy it for full price and receive it in 5 days. which I did because I liked the jacket. Now it is on sale again for $199!!!!!! Not a happy customer, or should I say former customer. And I have lots of LL Bean around my house, it may all go in a yard sale for a true sale price.

Not a down sweater fits big like a jacket- very wide in the arms-did not fit like a petite-liked the color but that's all.

Bought this 2 years ago. Zipper wire is cutting through the neckline. Brought to an LL bean store and was told that it could not be returned repaired b/c it was 2 years old and their warranty is now just a year. Really? I understand not standing by products that have no documentation of recent purchase but this is not the reputation that LL bean has had of standing by their products. 2 years is not enough of a lifetime for a jacket!

Unfortunately this great jacket fits very strangely. It's very puffy on the back of both shoulders. I even ordered another just in case the first one was sewn differently but it wasn't. Very disappointed as I was looking forward to it.

I purchased a petite medium and it was too tight and too long all over. Five years ago Bean's petite sizing was great -- what happened? And overall, the fabric looked cheap. Disappointed.

Bought this a year and a half ago and it's cute and a nice weight for running in the winter/cross country skiing. However, I went to put it on today (finally cold enough this season) and the zipper had broken. It's past the return date so I guess I'm stuck with a jacket that won't close so basically useless. Poor quality zipper.

This jacket needs to be returned- there's an area that separated where it was stitched and feathers are starting to poke through. The exterior material is not strong enough.

A few years ago I bought 2 of these jackets for myself and one for my husband. It was the perfect underlayer as it fit close to the body. We are very disappointed you changed the body style and the look of it. It was much more sleek. This looks like a puffer, not what I wanted

Jacket quality has deteriorated by down filling leaking out of shell at seams at 4 months of light wear. A lot of money for such poor quality.

I am sorry but I was very disappointed in the thickness of the Jacket. The one I tried on in the store was a lot thicker. When I ordered the Jacket, I took the one i had tried on and said I wanted this jacket in a blue as there was no blue ones available in the store.

I had to exchange this jacket from a large to a medium. I'm so disappointed that they are informing me it will be more than 3 months until I receive this jacket in a medium!

I really liked the jacket (color, size, fit) until I washed it. I followed the instructions on the inside of the jacket, but when it came out of the dryer, the material inside had bunched up. It was unwearable.
