I bought this rain coat to take with me on a trip to Scotland--a place known for rain! On my travels I had fabulous weather, but on the occasion of undertaking a hike on the Isle of Skye I donned this coat and was well prepared when the heavens open up. It kept my head dry, and the length kept my pants from getting soaked. It also buffeted the winds, keeping me from getting chilled. Additionally, the coat packed flat and took up almost no space in my bag. All in all this purchase exceeded my expectations, and contributed to a fabulous vacation memory.

Lightweight raincoat, keeping me comfortably dry under a thunderstorm. I used it at Orlando parks and was a success.

I thought it was a little heavier than it is, but overall the fit is good.
I can wear a sweater underneath.

This jacket is nice and light and waterproof - I live in mid-Atlantic climate and it's perfect for spring/fall here. The length is also great. Unfortunately, I agree with others that the zipper is SO finicky - it almost seems like it never lines up. As a busy mom rushing to get out the door, it's so agitating that it takes several tries to get the zipper up. I wish I had heeded the reviews! I wouldn't recommend this coat for that reason - disappointing if LLBean to sell this for $120 with a cheap zipper.

This raincoat is very packable for travel and I found my first one to be a good, lightweight option in rainy, warmer climates. I've owned two of them and bought two as gifts because of those reasons. As others noted, the zipper is difficult to get started on all of them (my husband's included) but doable. They are not entirely waterproof. If worn in a downpour you will get damp through the coat. Also, the lining started to flake and peel away from the outer fabric on my first one after about 3 years and on the second one after a year. It leaves you more likely to get very wet in those spots. I'm sorry to say, I would recommend you look for another raincoat as the quality of this raincoat has deteriorated.

I have this coat in two colors. It's great for layering and traveling. And it's dressy enough if I go to a nicer restaurant or place.

I have had this jacket for a year and it has now ripped on both arms. I repaired one arm and should have returned it right then, but I farm, and I needed a good raincoat. This is not it. The inside layer is also coming away from the outside layer of fabric. I can send it back and if it is defective they will replace it, if not I pay for postage and probably can't get the crappy jacket back. Very disappointed with the quality and LL Bean for producing subpar products. I have been a customer of LL Bean since I was in HS 45 years ago, and never had issues with anything back then. Now I have had the soles fall off of hiking boots and this jacket falling apart. Shame on you!

Just what I was looking for: long, a double up and down zipper, pockets with zippers, a hood, waterproof. My usual size is medium petite, but got a large petite to layer. My must have was the up and down zipper. Will say by husband said it lacks underarm vents/zippers. Not important for me.

Excellent quality. Kept me dry at the Rose Bowl.
Loved the longer length for sitting on wet seats. Nice adjustable wrists and waistband. I wear a 0/2 petite and purchased the XS Petite. Ran a little big - plenty of room to layer underneath

The Trail model LL Bean coat meets all of my hard to fit requirements: Ordered a medium petite. 5' tall &150' lbs. More pear shape than apple, shorter arms and waist. I followed the size guide carefully. Guide provided a perfect for me. LL Bean understands that "Petite" is not just shortening the length. Very pleased with fit and value.

My wife was looking for a longer raincoat, and this was it. Seems to be very well made. Haven't tested it in the rain yet.

Love this jacket! Got a large so I could fit layers underneath and it's perfect for walking the dog in cold or rainy weather.

This coat lives up to what it claims. Brought it to Portland OR for Thanksgiving week. Cold, drizzly and a lot of rainy days. It's completely waterproof and with a sweater underneath, it was plenty warm enough. And the hood kept my hair dry. Also, easy to pack! Highly recommend.

I have a shorter LLBean jacket very similar to this, which I love and which get lots of compliments, and decided to add this version which keeps my skirts dry. It's attractive and comfortable. I like it very much. Someday if this is available in a very light color, I would like to purchase another one.

This lightweight rain coat is perfect for any temperature. It is useful as a top layer over heavy cold weather garments or lighter garments for spring showers. The length is just right and covers the body to the knees. I like the hood that easily covers my head for quick dashes without an umbrella. Very pleased!

I bought this 6 months ago to take on a trip to Europe. It is very lightweight and packs well. It makes a great extra layer for warmth and it is excellent in the rain (the water sheds right off). I like the fit (you can cinch in the waist, it has a two way zipper plus velcro). I am 5'5", 125 lb, and a size small works well, with or without a down sweater or sweatshirt underneath. It was most excellent in rainy Osaka today, I prefer this to my rain jacket because it keeps much more of your body dry and you could sit and not get wet.
