The zipper does not unzip from the bottom, can not layer.

I love this rain jacket! I live in the NW so it's essential I have a warm rain proof jacket.

I purchased this jacked 4 months after buying the same style for half the price from the outlet (in 2019). Here we are 4 years later and the outlet jacket is still the BEST rain jacket. This full price one from the store is immediately wet on the inside after the first drizzle of rain. Nothing has peeled off, it looks brand new, just isn't repellant in any way. Why did I wait so long to review? Well, two months after giving this as a Christmas gift my father unexpectedly suffered a horrible death, and 3 days after his burial our state shut down due to a global pandemic. To say I was preoccupied during the one year guarantee timeline would be an understatement. While checking something else I came across this past order and noticed the many other similar reviews so I thought I would add mine in as well.

How about some tall outerwear? Regular sizes just don't cut it. Too short, too short, too short. Fleece zip-ups don't count as outerwear in upstate NY.

I purchased this jacket as a raincoat. All of the neck waterproofing peeled off, hence got soaked on my shoulders, and as a previous consumer noted, your arms get wet and sticky from the waterproofing.

This is the third jacket this has happened to. It's peeled all around the neck and shoulders!! I'm not even going to bother to see if they can replace it.

At first hint of rain, jacket feels wet inside. At first, I thought it just felt wet because it was a cold rain but after 10 minutes of light rain, the rain seeped through and it wad definitely wet inside.

Fit and style is great but this is more of a wind breaker than anything else. Perhaps water resistant for a very short period of time but definitely not waterproof by any means whatsoever. You will be soaked completely through in just a few minutes in moderate rainfall.

Sleeves were waaaaaaay too long. Fabric so thin it was wrinkly and sloppy-lookingeven after I tried ironing it. I sent it back. I'm disappointed with L.L. Bean. I had to send a cable knit sweater back 4 times because every one had multiple pulls in them in the front next to the zippers.

I returned this. It is made of very thin material that I feel could easily rip. Did not like!!

This jacket is basically, just a windbreaker. Complaints:
1) Like many Bean jackets the zipper is a trial to zip
2) This jacket is not one to throw over a tee. It's COLD! You definitely will need at least a long sleeve tee with this.
And the worst is yet to come.
3) It is far from rain resistant. Like miles far. Soaked after being outside maybe 10 minutes.
Soaked through to the skin.

Arms too narrow. And I ordered up a size men's regular fits better than women's plus.

Low quality material and style. NOT AT ALL what LL Bean has previously been known for.

Hoped LLBean had corrected the problem
lining. Wore jacket 1 time for less than 30 minutes, and the lining is shredding & tearing where the hood attaches to collar.

Fits weird. Way too small in the shoulders. Material is also much thinner than I expected.

The sleeve's are made for a monkey. This apparently is a commercial problem with LLBeans jackets. Yet they don't do anything to resolve it.

Aside from the fact that the size was too small, the material is extremely thin--- it feels like it could tear easily. I knew I was in trouble when I picked up the package and it weighed next to nothing. Outrageously overpriced for what you get. Back it goes.

I was replacing an older LLBean rain jacket and also buying one for a family member. However, the current product is *nowhere* near the quality of the old one. Although I knew from the description it would not have a 2-way zipper (much better for sitting in vehicle), I was surprised by the cheap zipper that is very difficult to work and then pulls apart after you finally get it to slide. The jacket material is very noisy, which seems unnecessary these days with so many different options available to make a jacket waterproof but breathable. The length is skimpy. Why would you want a rain jacket that does not cover your backside? Oddly, the sleeves seemed out of proportion, much longer than necessary even though the velcro-adjustable wrist is nice. The blue was lovely, and it had a good number of pockets with zipper closures, but unfortunately those features don't make up for overall poor quality. And the zippers on the pockets were the same cheap ones which seemed like they would also pull apart. I hope this is not the direction of LLBean products, because I purchase only things we really need, and we need them to serve a long time. That's why we looked at LLBean.

I really should have returned this rain jacket because of faulty manufacture. Every time I start to zip it up the zip catches at the bottom in the material on the right side because it overlaps the zip slightly and then I have to pull the jacket off over my head to try and free it. First time I ever had a problem with an LL Bean item. Really a waste of $100 because it's such a pain to put on! If not for the zip problem it would be a really nice jacket that looks good and fits perfectly.

This was a highly anticipated purchase. It looked good, fit well, and was going to last until college. We were super thrilled right up until she lost it a week and a half after it arrived. Do not buy for teens that easily lose their coats.

Runs small. Not true to size. Most plus size clothes dont fit. You won't publish this anyway because you don't publish negative reviews.

Flimsy material, sleeves would work well on Spider Man! Large and unflattering thru body. I am returning it and will look elsewhere for a raincoat.

Two years later, used only in summer, coat is not at all waterproof. It is nice as a windbreaker, maybe OK in drizzle, but not for rain.
