After getting poured on at an outside concert a few weeks ago, I purchased this online the very next morning. Things this jacket has that are superior to my last rain/wind jacket:
1) The large pocket on the front so you can keep your hands warm and dry.
2) The hood comes a little farther out over your forehead to shield your face from moisture.
3) LOVE the patterns and colors.
4) Runs long. I bought both the M and LG and the LG fit like a dress.
Love the fabric that it is lightweight but also thick enough for cooler temps. Highly recommend.

This is perfect for what I needed. Keeps the chill from the breeze out, without being heavy so I don't feel sweaty moving around outside. Not so tight I can't wear a thick thermal underneath if needed. Elastic in the cuffs keeps the sleeves from getting in the way even though I have narrow wrists. It is a bit of a struggle to get back out of for me, most likely due to the lack of "give" in the fabric (have to pull straight up over head then arms, usually arms are out first for me in a pullover.) Not too tight anywhere when wearing though. Fit is actually a pretty relaxed one. Maybe size up if you like a loose fit and an easy escape from your layers. The generous hood is appreciated for keeping long hair out of the rain. I wouldn't stand in a torrential downpour in this, but it's great against drizzle and light rain. Pockets are nice and roomy, zippered pocket on the front is great for easily lost items. The length is perfect- not so short that your pants waistband shows, but not as long as a tunic so I don't feel enveloped in fabric. This is great to throw in your bag when you're not sure what the weather will do later. It's got plenty of room in its self contained pocket, enough you can put your wallet and keys in once you've put the jacket in the pocket. I got the Spruce/Tuscan Olive color, and I really like the way it looks. The colors are a little more rich than they look online.

I love this lightweight jacket! I got the Tuscan Olive one, and the colors are rich and lovely. The arms are peacock blue which is my favorite color and hard to find. I bought it for light rain, but got caught in heavy rain for 20 minutes and although the jacket got soaked, somehow, my body did not. I normally wear xxl, so was worried that the xl would not fit. I have bigger boobs and tummy (both measure 45" around, as well as my hips), and the jacket fits perfectly, skimming my body, not pulling anywhere. I can comfortably wear both a t-shirt and a sweater underneath on cooler days and it still skims my body, not tight anywhere including my arms which have lots of room (my biceps are 14" around). I usually wear full zip ups, but so glad for the half zip as the pouch area skims over my belly better than a full zipper. And the 1/2 zip is big enough that my hair doesn't get messed up when I put it on. Overall, awesome jacket!

I have been looking at this anorak for a while and finally went ahead and bought it--and thanks to LL Bean's legendary quality, it was well worth the wait! It is beautifully made, cute as heck, and I just LOVE it. The hood is even able to fit over my hiking hat. It's PERFECT!

I bought this for our Alaskan cruise. It was perfect! It repelled the water on the cold rainy days, but kept me warm. I was never chilled at all. It acted as the perfect windbreaker. It is lightweight and easy to pack. I wore it as a jacket, and I even wore it as oversized shirt since it was so comfy. I really cannot say enough about this jacket. Oh, and I also received several compliments, as well.

I bought this for my daughter and she loves it. The colors are beautiful and as with other llbean items it is made well. The fit is a little on the large side, but she likes that. She should be able to wear it over a sweater on rainy days this winter. If you are in between sizes I would say order down.

Love love this jacket - all of the reviews weren't lying! The sleeves and length are perfect length with my long arms and torso. I was worried I wouldn't have that much wiggle room but I have a good amount that I'm very happy with. I'm pregnant now and I expect to be able to wear it into the second trimester - crossing fingers into the third! But it'll be great for after the baby! I would def recommend

I had a LL Bean anorak exactly like this from the early 90's that I loved & wore constantly. I enjoyed it for 20 years and sadly lost it during a move. I have missed it. I put alot of hiking miles in with that jacket.
I received my new one this week...and it is perfect. The material is soft. The fit is perfect. The zipper is smooth. The colors are beautiful. I love the way with the hood on... the front zips up like a funnel to cover everything but your face. And the pockets!!! I love that the front pocket is like my 90's one...large enough to hold my phone & gloves & even a water bottle if needed.
The petite sleeves fit perfectly landing at the wrist.
I came on here to purchase another and see there's a back order. That's okay...I will place my order and be waiting patiently for my next one.

Beautifully made. I was debating size, I'm 5 feet and 120 lbs. Petite is the way to go with a short torso. Fits well, a little loose, perfect for a layer underneath. Cuts the wind and repels rain. Haven't worn it in a downpour but in the gentle rain I didn't get wet. Awesome style and great quality. Recommend!

I bought a medium originally and it was too large. Returned it and received a small. Return process was fast and easy! The small fits perfectly!! I love the fit, performance and I get so many compliments on it. Don't overthink it, buy it!

I love being outdoors. I love traveling. I have a British penpal who 50 years ago introduced me to the idea of a cagoule which is a lightweight anorak, the main feature being something that folds into a pocket so it can easily be transported. Somehow I overlooked this feature when I was reviewing this anorak to purchase. I've wanted an anorak for a long time, just pull over as I have a regular zip front. And I love the color blocking. This color was actually out of stock for quite some time I think I waited about 4 to 5 months in order to obtain my jacket. As usual it's sports the outstanding LL Bean Quality. I myself Am a seamstress and I looked carefully at the seams and the top stitching. It's excellent very even, not too large or too small. It was when I was examining the seams and the top stitching that I noticed that there was an interior zipper pull on the front pocket which is zips so that it could be zipped from the inside. This led me to try and fold it into the pocket which it did. As I am tall, it's usually a chore finding things that are long enough. Even though this is not rated as being for a tall person, because I I am extra large at this time, the arms are actually large enough and long enough to fit me. I really appreciate that. The color combination is beautiful. It fits with room to spare to wear a sweater and layering underneath. This will be perfect for three season terrain outdoorsing in the Sierra Nevada which is where I reside. Perfect, perfect, perfect! I couldn't be happier.

This reminded me so much of an anorak I had in the late 1990s. (I am 40 years old.) I bought it for drizzly spring days in Asheville, and it's perfect. I am normally a small or medium and went with small. Medium would have also been fine as it is ALMOST too small in the hips for me. But I like the trim look of the small.

I love this jacket. It's super comfortable and I love the way it looks. I got a medium and I thought it was a tad big but it just looks a bit oversized which is on trend now anyway.

This jacket is awesome. Super well priced and great at light coverage/especially protection from wind. It's also really cute-- stood out to me online and was even better in store. I hover between a M/L in most women's clothes and this fit well at the M with some roominess. Love it!!

Been wanting this jacket for a long time. Great Fit. Roomy for layering. Love the big pouch to put things in. I ordered the Blue, Green, Copper colored one. Wind resistant.
Haven' t had any rain yet to test that. Just snow so far! Ready for summer to arrive.

I'm not exaggerating, I love this anorak. I bike my kids to school in the mornings and I was either too cold or too hot no matter how many layers but now all I do is slip this on and I'm comfy no matter what. Also perfect for a Northern California or PNW beach trip, since it might be sunny and windy at the same time. I love the big kangaroo pocket and the colors are perfect.
