Very disappointed in waterproof characteristics. Water soaks through very quickly after first beading up on the jacket.

The jacket is made of a very thin fabric with no lining whatsoever. The fabric crinkles noisily with every movement and shows countless wrinkles and creases. And it is grossly over-priced, easily triple what it is worth.

We purchased these jackets for our trip to Ireland and Scotland. We found our arms usually damp or wet. I looked when we got home I looked and it said waterproof. I'm not so sure at this price point. I would've gotten this.

Both arms of this rain jack absorb water like a paper towel. The hood and body of my rain jacket keep me relatively dry but the arms get completely soaked with water.

This is neither waterproof nor windproof. I have never been as disappointed with an LL Bean product as this one. Took it on a trip without testing first dand ended up cold and wet. Worthless in wind and rain. Ended up having to buy another rain jacket while on the trip.

First impression was that the package was way too light for nearly $200. Opened the outer bag to confirm and the jacket was very unimpressive. I would expect to pay no more than $35-70 for a jacket like this. Returned it.

I got this last year and have worn it several times and it is a great wind blocker but when I wore it in the rain, it soaked right trough.

I bought this the day before a hike of the presidential range and wish I had tried it out around town beforehand. It completely wetted out within the first 15 minutes, hardly any beading was visible, and I was soaked for the rest of my hike. On those high peaks, being wet for 10 hours in 50 degree rain could have been really dangerous. This is certainly not
suitable "trailside" or for "hiking." I'm sad the L.L.Bean quality I've relied on for the past 20 years did not pass muster in this jacket. I returned it and will be looking for a waterproof jacket elsewhere.

I recently took this jacket with me while driving through the SD Badlands NP, where we would stop occasionally for various scenic overlooks. Granted it was windy with a steady rain, but this jacket was totally soaked through by the afternoon even though we were only out of the car for maybe 1-5 minutes at a time. Would definitely not recommend if you are looking for something that is waterproof.

I wanted to buy this jacket and wanted to know the exact weight which is not on your website. What are you trying to hide? I tried to talk to an "expert." However your computer chat just led me around in circles and told me no one was available. If this is how LL Bean sees fit to treat its customers, I do not want to do business with you. LL Bean will never get my business again.

Wore for the first time walking in a light rain and was soaked within 10 minutes. It has to be a defect because LLBean would never claim this as waterproof without extensive testing...but it has failed miserably.

This jacket doesn't seem to be the waterproof item as advertised.

Found jacket to not be of typical LL Bean quality, with LL Bean stamped on front instead of embossed

All Bean XXL are not equal. This jacket runs small.

I am a long standing LL Bean customer and I am so disappointed in this product. The waterproofing is minimal. This is a very expensive raincoat and only provided protection for about 5 mins.
Very surprised at the lack of performance.

It's very thin and the hood is too large. The hood flops around even when you use the adjustors. I got stuck out in a rain storm with this jacket on and it didn't protect my head at all because I couldn't put the hood up or it'd block my vision. This jacket is way too expensive all things considered, and it barely insulates because it's so thin.
