This is an excellent jacket. It's warm and waterproof, as advertised. The inside of the hand pockets feel nice, too. If could change anything, it would be to position the inside of the hand pockets behind the insulation. This way it would keep your hands warmer. It seems rare to find a jacket designed this way, though.

This parka is great for all but the coldest weather. It checks all my boxes for an everyday parka - waterproof, good insulation, zip off hood, lots of pockets, adjustable cuffs and a two way zipper that makes it comfortable to sit in a car. You can easily layer with a medium to heavy wool or chamois shirt. I use it for all weather between an uninsulated jacket up to what calls for my Maine Warden's parka. It is well designed and constructed and appears to be typical LL Bean high quality.

I purchased this coat in November. Living in the midwest, I was looking for a reliable and reputable brand. I knew L.L. Bean could deliver - and did they. I absolutely L.L. LOVE this Rugged Ridge Parka. The style is perfect. The fit is excellent. It keeps me warm and dry! I would highly recommend this jacket/coat to anyone.

I love this jacket and have no complaints at all. I can't think of a way to improve it.

I love this jacket!!! After 20+ years my old winter jacket had seen it's best days but I was hesitant to get a new one because my old one was so comfy. I can only say I should have bought this new one years ago. You have thought of every aspect. The two way zipper, the inner and outer pockets, especially the outside breast pocket for my cellphone, all of them make this jacket the best I have owned.

I purchased this parka for my husband 9 years ago and just bought the identical one because he liked it so much. It has a hood and is very warm. He likes the zippered outside pockets and there's pockets inside too. The only reason we replaced it was because the zipper broke, even though it's still wearable as it also has a velcro closure.

I rarely write product reviews - but when I do, it's either because the item was truly horrid or the item was truly exceptionally excellent. The Men's Rugged Ridge Parka is truly exceptionally excellent. I owned and used a previous model of the Rugged Ridge for over thirty years. I could have kept it - but it began having some occasional zipper problems . . . and I had an itch for something new. I researched parkas - and especially L. L. Bean parkas. Eventually, my wife and I found ourselves for no particular reason at a local L. L. Bean store . . . and there was the Rugged Ridge in the right color and the right size! She bought it for me as an early Christmas present, and I've been using it regularly. It's PERFECT! . . . well . . . almost. If it had pit zips, then it would be totally perfect. But for my every day wear, I LOVE IT! Well designed and constructed, lighter weight but AT LEAST as warm as its predecessor, operationally perfect. This will most likely be the last every day winter parka I ever own.

Perfect for outdoor activity! This replaces an LL Bean coat purchased years ago that stood the test of time. This was a gift for my husband specifically for his snow blowing chores. But he likes it so much, he wears it for his weekend errands as well. Perfect for snowy, windy north country winter days!

If there was a 4.5-star rating available, that would be my choice. This is my second purchase of the Rugged Ridge Parka because it's a very good all-around parka. My only complaint is that the zipper is not high quality, and it will be the first element to wear out. Obviously, I like it since I'm a repeat buyer.

This is a good choice for an all around winter jacket. The shell and hood are water resistant/proof - which I have not tested yet. The lining is a good quality quilted product which is warm, and NOT the fleece which is used in many cheaper products. Depending on wind conditions the jacket by itself over a long sleeve shirt is enough down to about 30 deg F,, but below that you would likely need another layer over or under a shirt depending on your level of activity. The exterior fabric is sturdy and well made. So far the zippers have worked well, and the hood is removable. Overall, another good product from LL Bean.

Very warm and comfortable parka. Great sizing and plenty of room to wear a heavy sweater underneath. Pocket space is great. I had an order rugged ridge parka that needed to be replaced and this one is perfect. I also love the color.

Fits well, is very warm in the cold. Plus waterproof and good in wind.this is one of the best parka I have owned. I had the same one for 8 years and just bought a new one. Plenty of pockets and love the breakaway zipper.

I take a medium and the fit is perfect even with a sweater underneath. Have already worn it in a snow storm and some colder days and it is warm and dry.

Living in Ohio, I needed a warm, stylish, and comfortable coat. I have had the coat for about one month and I love it! I receive numerous compliments.

I bought this to replace the exact same coat I've had for more than 10 years, but was getting a little frayed. This one seemed much lighter and I was worried, but it is just as warm, tested here in NYC cold snap last week. Very pleased indeed! We'll see how it holds up...

Perfect cold weather coat. This is my second coat like this I bought. My wife borrowed my first one and liked it so much I gave it to her. I had to get a different color for my second one, but I love it as much as the first one. Great amount, size and location of pockets and easy to close zipper and snaps. Great coat and the perfect amount of warmth.
