Love these boots. They are lightweight and provide great support. I wear them on 4-8 km hikes and no issues

Item is good in snow but unfortunately quite small. I wore them outside so I cannot return them, but I’d order a full size larger in these.

For most brands of shoes I wear a wide. In fact last year I purchased a pair of Merrell's that are low type sneaker and I had to return the regular width for wide. Therefore I purchased a wide in this shoe. I wore them around the house for a few days and they felt heavy. No matter how tightly I tied them, they felt like they were just hanging off my foot every time I lifted it. I was out shopping and in a store that had the same exact shoe and tried them on in regular width and they fit just perfectly. I also tried on some hikers in other brands, such as Columbia, Keen, Salomon, and none of them felt as good on my feet. I decided to buy the Merrells on the spot and then return the ones from Zappos because after looking online I found that in order to get the replacements from Zappos the price was going to be about $45 more. Went on a 3 mile hike through the woods within hours, moderate inclines, rocks, wooded paths, snow coating on the ground. I had no discomfort. I've worn Merrell's for about 20 years and I've never had any issues with them in any style. Just wondering why this style, the wide is way too wide.

A wonderful hiking boot. Didnt even need to break it in for a 50 mile hike along the Laugavegur Trail in Iceland. Super comfortable and durable and withstood torrential rain in multiple days. And no blisters in the end! Up nextusing these to hike in Peru!

As a polio survivor I have split sizes (8.5 and 5, the 5 needing a lift and orthotic work) and so had to buy 2 pairs and take one shoe to an orthotist who could do the work and also put the Vibram sole back on. Once all that expensive work was done I broke them in and soon after took them on a strenuous trip to Peru including Machu Picchu and other such sites plus tons of city walking. They were and are nothing short of fabulous! Worth every penny! P.S. I'm 75 years old and have had lifelong foot and ankle issues and thus my standards for comfort, balance and stability are high. My Moab 3s gave me no blisters and have a very comfortable lining that prevents inner slippage. Externally, they have excellent sole grip and ankle stability even on wet, slippery, uneven surfaces. And the added bonus: they are extremely lightweight.

I have a tough time finding shoes. My right foot is 1/2 size bigger than my left and my heels are very blister prone. I went to my local sportsman store and tried on every hiking shoe they had available in my size. These were literally the only ones that were immediately comfortable (on both feet!). I wore them out for a short hike and fishing the next day and luckily they needed no break-in time. They are very secure feeling and the rope/braid type laces don't budge at all. I have worn them on 5 hiking/outdoor occasions since then and have no complaints. Definitely the most comfortable and secure shoes I have ever owned.

I ordered a pair in my usual size. 8.5W. Wore them in the house a few times to be sure they fit as they felt snug, hoping it was my imagination but no, my toes were hitting the front and the sides were pressing in with waking. Sent them back in exchange for a half size larger 9W which seem to fit properly. I have not had a chance to try them walking even inside yet as Ive been sick since they came but based on the first pair Im pretty sure theyll be perfect. There was no charge to do the excyand it was very easy. Thank you

Best boot for me. Wide Merrell Moabs, both low and mid hikers, work well for me right out of the box. I have been wearing Moabs since 2007. Since they came out with a wide width for ladies (my foot is too small for mens sizes), I havent looked elsewhere. The only complaint I have is that the shoe laces could be a couple inches longer. I end up buying longer laces just about every time especially for the mid hikers. Ive taken my boots trekking in Tasmania, in the grass hills of Ireland , along the coast and mountains of Italy, in the high mountains of Colorado, as well as the the Washington Cascades, Glacier and Rocky Mountains National Parks, the AT within the Shenandoah National Park, in the Great Smoky Mountains NP, . I generally put in 1500 to 1800 miles a year hiking and walking in my boots and shoes. Love them. Hard to resist a new pair when I see new color choices.

The shoes are great! I have wide feet with bunions and needed a sturdy shoe for travel and hiking to Costa Rica. Went during the rainy season and these kept my feet supported and dry.

I followed the recommendation to order a half size up but found they were too big. I normally wear an 8W and ordered an 8.5W. They were too long in front and too roomy (loose) in the heel. Comfortable but not a good fit for hiking. Decent looking though I don't particularly like the peach-pink lace loops and the orange/black pattern laces. Returning because of improper fit.

The hiking boots were great! Super comfy and grippy. I hiked loose, kind of sandy trails in Bryce Canyon and Canyonlands NPs. I have wide feet and ordered a 1/2 size up. They were perfect.

I wanted a sturdy, lightweight, waterproof shoe to get myself hiking. I did a shorter, easy, "regular" hike of mine to break them in but didn't need to. My first big hike was 5 miles of steep climb in New Hampshire with a switchback down. My feet were perfectly comfortable. No residual aches or blisters. I like that these come in wide width for my aging feet (bunions). Many more hikes and travels in their future.

Good boots, well made, but not as wide as other "wide" fits and not waterproof even with the waterproofing spray. Fortunately neither really a big issue for me. Ready to go when you get them without any wearing in period which is good.

These run really small. I wear an 8 wide in all my shoes. But even the 8.5 was too short. And they weren't especially wide even though they were the wide version. I gave up after ordering and returning 2 pairs. The 9 might have been fine, but I didn't have time to order again before my hiking trip.

I've been wearing Meryls for a long time. I really love the color black and the blue. Can't wait to get them. I just Ordered the blue ones For the last 30 years, I've been having to go to The shoe fits store in middle place .he had to do it build up for me on any shoe I needed since I had the surgery. I'm finally in a normal pair of shoes again without a lift.

I almost always wear a size 8.5 but ordered a 9, per Zappos suggestion, and they fit perfectly. But I didn't like the way the arch was made. I have high arches and the support was good on inside of my arch, but it didn't go across to the rest of my arch. Maybe this works better for people with flatter feet, but not for me. Also the thick ankle support bothered me. Sending back and will keep looking.

I always buy Merrell hiking boots. These felt stiff around the ankles and rubbed my ankle after trying them on in carpeted room for just two minutes. They look great. Good color high quality. Just not a good fir for me.

Unfortunately, I did not buy these boots in a half-size longer than my normal size as my toes rub when hiking downhill! Merrill has not allowed me to make an exchange in size after one wearing like retailers REI and LL Bean will do! They understand one cannot really tell about sizing for hiking boots without a trial!

This is my second pair of this style of shoe from Merrell. Just as with the first pair, there is a breaking in period with the right shoe. It's probably the supination on the right side, but the top of the shoe rubs on my ankle bone and it hurts badly. I have to repeatedly adjust the shoelaces to get it right so that this doesn't happen. I would recommend a more flexible shoe or one that isn't a high top to anyone who wants to do a lot of hiking right away, but they have this type of problem with boots. Otherwise, I like these shoes in every way.

Not waterproof. Not sure if my luck is terrible and I'm getting the flawed pairs, or if it's an issue across a production run, or what. First pair was a holiday gift to me, which started seeping a month after I started wearing them and progressively got worse. Merrell, to their benefit, did replace them. Unfortunately, the replacement pair is already proving unfit for New England mud season. On wear #6, which was the first venture into repetitive sloppy mud, my toes ended up moist. Right foot being worse, which was the starting pattern on pair #1. The toe caps would be submerged in each step for 20-50' at a time, perhaps 8 times, rest of the hike (only 3 miles) was on well drained dirt and grass. MASSIVELY annoying as they are otherwise comfortable (I'd LOVE an extra wide, but that is nit picking) and supportive, with good grip.

This would have been the perfect boot except for repeated left ankle pain that I could not resolve. So sorry to have to return these boots.

I wanted to love these but even the wide one size up is too narrow! My feet are not extremely wide, I am just accustomed to shoes with room for toes to splay.
