The boots look great and really are water proof. However, After about three weeks of wearing them the left shoe began squeaking while you walk. The foot bed is not glued properly to the sole of the boot. The sound is loud enough that you can't wear them in front of other people without being very embarrassed, so I had to return . It is a shame, because the boots are perfect in every other way.

Generous toe box, nice arch support and overall great fit.

I swore off Merrell over a decade ago, and now I'm back. I have a wide ball-of-foot, narrow heel. These are generous in the toe box (tears of joy), not just "I can bear it if I wear thin socks", arch support is good, and I can do my special lacing routine to accomodate my narrow heel with no issues. Price is decent. Thanks, Merrell.

These boots lived up to my expectations, with one exception: The laces will not stay tied longer tan 10 minutes of casual walking. My older Merrill's that are almost worn out had the same issue; replaced them with different laces that stay tied all day.

Fit well, very comfy. Added his own inserts to give needed arch support, and wore them to school today!

These hiking boots are fabulous. Hubby does at least one hike a week on the island of Kauai. Terrain is muddy and challenging. He put these on and they fit like a glove. So happy we finally got a pair of hiking boots he loves.

I love these shoes. They are light and very comfortable. Went to work on a steep metal roof and had good traction. These are going to be good hot weather hunting shoes. I would recommend to a friend.

The tongue on this shoe sticks up about 1.5" above the top of the high top. This doesn't necessarily affect performance but it looks dorky and made me think these are seconds. I've worn Merrell's for 10 years and it's the only version with this "feature." (I'll continue to buy the low tops.)

Although the description says Gore Tex, no where on the boot was there any indication of it. I returned them for another boot that clearly is Gore Tex.

inner tread sticks out around the big toe. largest piece shredded off after two short hikes. pretty blown away by the poor design. customer service made this right immediately, giving me full refund. great boots other than the tread problem and the unfamiliar lace control at the top, i prefer the metal side grommets to hold onto the laces rather than a middle loop, but that's minor.

this boot fits much larger than advertised. my old pair of size 9 merrell boots fits just fine, these are at least a full size larger, if not more.

Have loved Merrill in the past- these boots are stiff and have no arch support .

Arrived with a broken fabric eyelet through which a lace is supposed to be threaded. The upper part of the laces of the left shoe were removed, indicating that these shoes were previously tried on by another person. Obviously, this shipment was not checked for acceptable (new) condition prior to shipment. Not sure if I'll be doing any more business with Zappos. Just recently, they shipped me the wrong dress shoes. I always keep a hard copy of my orders, so I know exactly what I ordered.
