I am accustomed to walking in Brooks shoes, which have a slightly larger toebox. I found this shoe to be tight in the topbox area and opted for a half size larger for that reason. Otherwise this shoe is good.
I'd also recommend:

Love the look but they are a little heavy.

Hi quality, unbeatable. Try them first. I can walk in them for hours. I can not stand without walking ( flat feet) but one of my colleagues does. I've tried other Merrells and other brands and moabs are still the best made shoes.

Sturdy shoe that has more cushion than my original Moab's. Personally I need shoes with a lot of cushion. I recommend these shoes along with the Merrel trail runner's.

Comfortable shoe with a good fit. I have wore them before and always been happy with them

Sturdy construction makes these shoes last a reasonable amount of time [2 years for me] particularly for someone that wrecks shoes. I would suggest that buyers of the wide shoes order one or 1/2 size larger to get the best fit.

Made with very sturdy materials. The sole is made with chunky rubber with great traction. Decent toe cap to prevent stubbing your toes. Unfortunately they didn't work for me personally because they don't have much arch support.

I'll start with the color of these. They are a nice earthy color that matches anything and if they get a bit of dirt on them it blends well. Upon putting them on notices they are wider than they should be. I have normal size feel and these I had to tighten a lot. They aren't super heavy and are easy to walk in. You don't feel every little stone or stick you step on. They should hold up pretty well. I like that they aren't high top hiking boots. Being hiking shoes are unique and I can move my feet a bit better. I'm happy with these.

The Merrell-MOAB 3, Hiking Shoes, Colour Black Night Merrell - MOAB 3, Hiking Shoes, fit true to size. Extremely comfortable. I wear them hiking and canoeing and they not only look great, but feel great as well!

MOAB 3, Hiking Shoes are definitely made to last. The material is very strong and sturdy. The soles seem very durable. They have an appealing look to them. I only have one complaint. I will for sure have to get some good insoles for them. There is absolutely no cushion on the inside.

This is a brand that has been out for awhile so I know it's a good respected hiking shoe.We have not had much rain yet. These are very comfortable and easy to clean. The sole of these shoes is nice and thick so you know they will last.

This shoe has very narrow toe box, and felt 1/2 to 1 full size short.
I wish Zappos would list EUR sizes. on the box this Moab 3 -Mens size 10M is listed as EUR 44.

So I ordered these because I had just gotten the Moab 3 12.5W in black and they fit perfectly.
When I put the walnut colored ones on the size was quite different—was much wider and taller in the toe box. I had a Moab 3 in size 13 and even they were smaller.
Had to return them and I hate returns.
Emailed Merrell to get their sizes in line.

I have worn nothing but Merrill Moab for the last 10-12 years and they have been fantastic. Oddly, this latest pair I bought is not as comfortable, even though they're all broken in now. By the end of a long day my feet hurt a bit. If I wear one of my old pairs everything's great. They are all the same size so I'm not sure what the problem is

Super comfortable, but not a good value. Considerably overpriced in my opinion.
They ripped the first time I wore them.
To clarify, I'm not a hiker I use my shoes for simple yard work (1/4 acre).

I bought these an should not have kept them. They are very comfortable but they are just a bit too clunky for my personal taste.

Nice and wide. Too wide. NO arch support at all. A bit too short. I am so sad to return these. I really love them.

I needed to replace my last pair of Merrill hiking shoes and selected the Moab 3 wide width. The fit is terrific and they are as comfortable as my last pair. And I don't doubt they will last as long as well. I am disappointed with my purchase however as the first time I was hiking through wet grass my feet were quickly soaked. Since my last pair were quite water resistant I assumed these were as well. My error for not reviewing the description thoroughly.

I need more support than they offered. The mesh is too "mushy," allowing my foot to stretch the shoe and move around too much in the shoe. I went back to another brand that is fortified with leather inserts and strips of leather spaced at strategic points in the mesh fabric.

These shoes are well-made what heavy. There is plenty of cushioning, and the insole is comfortable, however. I love the vibrum soul. I bought these in a half size smaller than I usually wear and they are still too big so I had to put an insult in them. I usually wear an eight and I bought a 7 1/2 but these run wide. Because of the weight of the shoe and the fact that they are so wide, I probably should have returned them. I do like the color, however, and I have the chalk

I wanted to like these but felt they were too heavy and stiff, not flexible when walking

Heads-up: good shoe BUT the black outside rubber base of the Vibram sole is in fact WHITE internally! It's a white rubber base covered with black rubber layer which is very thin, so normal dents from a hike do reveal ugly WHITE spots! very annoying when such a white spot suddenly shows up on the shoe toe side, right in front where you and everyone can clearly see it! That WHITE inner rubber material cannot even be painted black over again because, well, it's a rubber! Sorry but it's a shame such an otherwise nice, premium shoe could not have its sole made from a monolith chunk of black rubber, like my older shoes, instead of this white wrapped in black kind of pie.. It's a month old Beluga style my second pair of Moabs. No other issues so far.

I have completed one 6 km walk wearing my new lo-top Merrell Moab 3 shoes.
The Pros:
These shoes have excellent grip with their coarse-lug Vibram soles.
The size is a good match for my 10W foot size, so ordering online worked out. The shoes are slightly wider and longer than my `regular' 10W shoes, but this works well given the thicker socks that I tend to wear while hiking.
The Cons:
The outsole and midsole are sufficiently thin that I can feel the individual lugs of the Vibram sole pressing against the sole of my foot. I would not have imagined that this was possible. These are early days, but for the moment, this sensation is quite distracting while walking. I expected blisters or corns and calluses to develop, but they have not appeared so far.
The sides of the shoe are also thinner than expected, so there is no significant lateral support. This is not a problem while walking on level ground or pavement, but it could be painful or even dangerous if attempting to hike on even slightly uneven ground / trails.
