I had the original Moab Ventilators and they were great. I didn't hear good reviews on the #2 Moab but was hoping the reviews on the Moab 3 where Merrell made some changes and upgrades would put this back in the 5 star category. I think they did. I haven't even worn them hiking yet but because I had the old ones, was looking for fit and style. I have some trail runners so wanted a mid boot for more dense and dirty hiking but not extreme or backpacking anymore. I'm thinking these fit the bill perfectly.

Once upon a time I only wore Merrell shoes and boots. I went away because I couldnt find my size in any stores and I was leary of ordering online and them not fitting. I wanted the Jeep branded Moabs but didnt order in time. But, I took a chance and Im so glad I did. They fit so well and I love the look. The souls grip and support so well. The Moab 3 is still the best mid height boot available. I love them.

Very good shoe, I deliver for Amazon in rural areas. The lightness, durability and ankle support is a good combo in this boot. I'm on my fourth pair right now. They last about 7 months of 50 miles a week of asphalt and dirt road walking. Never had an issue with the construction of the boot. Rubber wears out. But to be expected with use.

I had to return mine due to their being too small. This has never happened before with any footwear I've ordered online, but my size 13's felt more like 12's.
On the plus side, the return process was excellent, however.

Good solid boots. Took a couple weeks to break-in to feel totally comfortable. Hard soles on these boots. A bit slick on wet rocks/roots. Great in sand, mud, dry rocks, etc.

Wanted to love these. They look awesome and the fit felt great. Unfortunately they wear a painful spot into the outer ankle on one of my feet and pinched the pinky toe on the other foot. Cant wear them without being in pain.

These have been tested in Yosemite, Hawaii and the Grand Canyon, they performed very well. I am 71 years old but my 26 year old son really put them to an endurance test! Nice comfortable fit plus look pretty good. I would recommend and purchase another pair, actually bought another pair for my son so I wouldnt loose mine.

This purchase vs prior of the same the insoles seem to have less padding. Out of the box wore them all day on concrete with only minor discomfort. Quality is the same and when walking off concrete have great traction and comfort.

Got them at REI in Seattle last spring. Kind of disappointed I can't even walk across wet grass without my toes getting soaked through to the socks. Otherwise they're sturdy and supportive.

The shoes are nice. However, the insole is too thin and makes my feet feel very uncomfortable. I had to buy another pair of insoles to fix this. Other than that, the design is good, very spacious inside and the sole is vibram.

Comfortable right out of the box. No break-in period. I have at least three other boots - these are my favorite for both around town and out on the trail. Have not had them for rocky or difficult trails yet, but I think they will do just fine.

I either had bad luck with three pairs in a row, or quality has gone down. Sole began separating with <50 miles on my last three pairs.
I had to make the jump to a different boot as a result.

My old moans were great ,as a contractor,bought for work but wore them always.a perfect boot.several pairs later,the quality has gone backwards with squeaky soles and crappy laces,always coming untied.haven't lost me yet Merrell,but this pair may be my last with you.we'll see.
