I have the men's version and my wife has the women's version of this top. We both love it except for the fact after the first wash they both shrunk significantly. My wife's she can still wear although it is on the small side now however mine has shrunk so much it feels like it went from a large to something between a medium and small. It really sucks since this was an expensive top that I really enjoyed wearing the first time I took it on a hike. Now it just sits in the closet because it is too small. I suggest trying a size bigger than normal.

This pullover looks great at first, but after a few washes the hems on the sleeves unravel and then the fabric starts to lose its soft look. It begins to look old and worn out quickly. I bought LL bean in hopes it would last at least a year. It did not even last a few months. Typically when you pay $80 for a pullover it lasts, very disappointed in the quality of this product. Do not waste your money if you intend to actually wear it more than twice a year, it will not last long.

Ordered this fleece in burgundy, size Large. Really like the softness, the color and contrasting trim as well as the Slightly Fitted fit. Roomy enough to layer over a shirt/baselayer yet not baggy. Unfortunately, I'm returning this item due to a few issues. First, and as mentioned in previous comments, the kangaroo pouch lining protrudes about 1" below the hemline with my hands resting insidenot a good look. This issue could be rectified by moving the pocket stitching farther above the jacket's bottom hem, resulting in a slightly smaller but still voluminous pocket. Second, the sleeves drape to my fingertips. I'm of average arm length/wrist size. The elasticized opening could be smaller to prevent hanging below the wrist. Third, the jacket rides up to my belly-button when reaching above my head, exposing my midriff. To address this, my recommendation is to alter the cut, switch to a raglan sleeve, or add length to the torso.
Bummed that this pullover doesn't work for me. Otherwise it seems to be comfortably casual fleece for those who may find the fit more agreeable and can overlook the sagging handwarmer pocket issue.

This sweater fleece shirt was expensive so I expected good quality. Unfortunately, the hems on the sleeve and the waist became worn and frayed. Since I didn't wear this shirt frequently or treat it badly, I'm disapointed.

This sweater fleece looks very nice when new but gets old fast. First, it's sized small so order up 1 size, and it's definitely sized short. At 5'10" I get a wide open belly raising my arms up in a large. Seems the same for my other bean stuff. I would expect that if I were taller but not at 70". Second, it pills like crazy. Better order a fabric shaver while you're at it. Got mine 1-2 years ago (I think) and while the shaver makes it look new, my regular fleece doesn't do this at all. Third, do not put stuff in the pockets. Seriously. The inner lining droops out under the bottom of the fleece and looks ridiculous. Yes, it's an attractive fleece and will keep you warm in a cool house but after a few weeks it looks work down in the not good way. Oh, and the back collar always folds inwards in an awkward way in the back. I would get 100 wt. fleece as a replacement in the future to avoid the problems I had. Maybe a 200.

It kinda fits, if your reaching up for something it hikes up your stomach, sits just above the belt, would be better if it hung below the belt line just to short.

The shoulders and arms fit great and I love the fabric, but was too large around the torso and not flattering at all. Would work if you have a large beer gut, I suppose.

This knit garment looks like it had been over pressed to the point where the fibers are almost stuck together. It's ugly. Nothing like prior versions. Stretchy nylon pocket hangs below bottom front edge band, creating a sloppy appearance. No drawstring on the bottom available to hide the ugly pocket lining. Tall size gives more extra width, but it's rather short. Makes no sense. I've ordered twice hoping different color might help. Still a big expensive disappointment.

This one is much heavier than the lightweight fleece it replaced. The lightweight fleece was perfect for traveling. Plus, it doesn't have zippered pockets. This heavier weight will be good for cold weather, but I'm disappointed in not being able to find a good pullover fleece for traveling.

Purchased for my husband February, 2018. After 3-4 washes, started to pill. This was only warn for casually, not for work. For the price, expected better quality.

The arms were a little long but the thing I most don't like is that when you put things such as a cell phone and wallet inside the front pouch, the inside liner shows below the sweater itself. It looks funny!!

I recently ordered this fleece and will be returning it. I was so disappointed after looking at this for quite sometime and finally buying it. It is not "slightly fitted" as described. The mid section billows out adding the appearance of 20 extra lbs to your stomach area . This is probably compounded by having a pocket in which to warm your hands in the front. This will probably work for someone with a little bit of a stomach but definitely not if you have a flat stomach. Not flattering at all.

I admit that I have not worn this pullover all that much, (It got lost in the back of my closet).
With the return of the cool weather; I re-discovered this pullover and to my dismay, I noticed the stitching of the "piping" on the bottom of the pullover has come un-raveled. The thread has become undone and "piping" now just dangles.
I also discovered that it was over 1 year since I purchased this garment; the warrant is no longer in affect.
After purchasing LOTS of items from LL Bean, This is one of first times I have been disappointed with one of their products.

Have been a loyal customer of Bean for decades. The sweater fleece pullover is the first serious disappointment I've had. The quality of the fleece is hardly sweater-like; not the look and feel of the quality fleece of the past,or,the competition. The "slightly fitted" sizing is obviously not intended for a traditional medium (40)size.

Received my LL Bean sweater fleece pullover yesterday & sent it back today. First, the grey heather is a couple shades darker than the color shown online; second, the sleeves went on forever. I ordered a tall XXL and the sleeves totally covered my hands, they could have just attached gloves or mittens onto the sleeves. A long time LL Bean customer, this item is probably the second I've ever returned, definitely not what I was expecting.

This pullover used to have two pockets. Now it has one - sometimes called a "kangaroo pouch" pocket. I returned it because of this design. Everything in your pocket goes to the center. If you lean over something, you may crush whatever is in the pocket. Also, you can't follow a routine of organizing things in your pockets - reading glasses right, sun glasses left, phone right, right glove right, etc. Everything is mixed together. I find it annoying. I was disappointed in the change because I really like the aging one I have. I was hoping fall 2018 might bring a change - nope.

Before ordering the fleece sweater I read another review about the front pocket hanging out and decided to order anyway. Wrong decision. It looks ridiculous so it was returned. Please think of a solution to this problem. Other than that the item is very nice.

I think this is the first Bean product that I have not liked. In 2 months the pilling is amazing. The collar curls up and the snaps are a pain to use. A zipper would have been much better. There is an internal bag that connects the two pockets. If you put anything into the bag, it sags below the hemline so you look like you have a grey growth protruding from under the sweater.

First off, this fleece fits great and is very comfortable. It looks great too. Unfortunately the stitching around the cuffs is cheap and light. After a couple wearings and one wash, the piping around the cuffs is beginning to break loose. At this price point I was expecting a much more durable product. I wanted this to be a go-to fleece for around the house, but at this rate it will only last for a couple months before it needs replacing.

Positives: Heavyweight fleece. Nice design. Well constructed.
Negatives: This is advertised as slightly fitted but doesn't even come close to being so. This thing is designed to accommodate a full-on American spare tire. When I put the fleece on it hangs on me like a bell or a lampshade. If your waist is narrower than your shoulders then look elsewhere. This is not for you.

Overall, the sweater is warm, roomy, and handsome. The issues with the pocket can be explained by recognizing the pocket is not made of the same material as the rest of the sweater - it is made of the thin liner fleece. This lack of structure causes the pocket to sag when a weighty item is placed within the void. I don't really care about this as it keeps my hands warm due to its roominess.
What really bothers me is the construction of the trim. The stitching around the cuffs, waist, and neck lacks any durable stitching. I have had mine for less than a year and the cuffs have already come unstitched. Note, there is ONLY ONE line of stitching around the cuffs - what were you thinking Llbean?!? You could have done so much better by nixing the cuff material and doubling over the sleeve material to make a sturdier cuff. Or, you could have added the thin liner material overtop of that doubled over sleeve to make it aesthetically pleasing.
I have two compatible Patagonia products, which I have had for 2-3 years longer, that have not degraded at the sleeves (not even with heavy use)
This is not the quality I have come to expect from Llbean.
