After 3 washings, garments still leave tons of lint. I wonder how thread bare they will be after 6 washings. Buy at your own risk. Remember, lint is very flammable. Clean your clothes dryers meticulously...including beyond the lint filter.

I buy many things from LLBean. I have been very pleased with the overall quality of your products. However my order no. 010222046116 Scotch Plaid PJ's have been very disappointing.
I have washed them several times but they just keep shedding fuzz balls. They make my bed very unattractive and they are difficult to sweep from my rug. They have been reduced to backup status, I do not like to wear them because they make such a mess. Please review what vendor you bought the material from and consider dropping them. I am not looking for compensation nor return authorization. Just sharing my findings.

The pants have a seam right up the middle of the seat...like a thong...and should be one pieced like Weldon, Diplomat and other pajama makers made their pants. Also, the waist is tight and isn't adjustable. It should be open from the fly to the top of the waist, with a draw string.
The top is very nice.

Although the quality and fit equals the previous purchases of this item, when I put it in the wash with other clothes, black was deposited all over them and was also deposited on my underwear while I wore them.

Item was full of balls of lint. Pants were so long, you were walking on them. I am still wiping up the lint in my washer, on the bed, all over the floor. There was a ball of yarn inside the packaging. Have never experienced anything like this.

The first time I washed these pajamas there was so much lint in the washer and dryer that I had to stop and clean out the lint filter two times. All the other clothes in the dryer were full of the black lint. I ended up drying them alone. I can't understand how a company like L.L. Bean could sell them in good conscience.

This was bought to replace an old set which were awesome but I slipped and ripped the knee.
I need to buy a large to fit my chest. The legs are so long they are a tripping hazard but tight on the thighs while the waste is very loose. The sleeves which are on most shirt too short are actually too long and with all of that said the chest was still tight I could barely raise my arms and it felt like they would rip behind my shoulders or armpits.
These things are not made to the correct size anymore or LL Bean has stopped making clothing for the moderately athletic outdoor type.

My long experience with LLBean clothing seemed to be once again confirmed when I received a package bearing these fine pajamas in the Black Watch pattern. They were replacing the same product that I acquired a few years back that was destroyed in the wildfire devastation in Sonoma County, California in early October, 2017 which destroyed my home and all of my possessions in it. Imagine my dismay when after a couple of days' wear, I washed them, following the attendant instructions to the letter and they shed so much of their substance in the dryer that one could see through what remained of the cloth. That never happened with the previous product. It pains me to be moved to warn potential buyers: It's soft, warm, and comfortable, but it may not hold together in the laundry.

Flannel in these pajamas is of very inferior
quality. Fortunately, I wash them alone or my
entire wash would be covered with lint. I
know that I got far more the a cup of lint from
washer and dryer. After washing and double rinsing more than 3 times, bed sheets are still covered with specks of lint. One such speck was large enough that my husband picked it up and said "I wonder if this thing has legs!"
THIS ITEM IS NOT UP TO LL BEAN STANDARDS! Because
I buy LL Bean clothes frequently for both my husband and myself, I know how wonderful LL Bean clothing can be.

These pajamas are warm and nice looking but a MESS when washing. They have been washed 3 times and are still pilling all over my home, the bed, etc. I have had to clean out the washing machine after washing them and they are now only washed by themselves as they made a virtual mess all over the other items washed with them. A real disappointment for LL Bean as I have never purchased anything that was not of the highest quality.

I have never had a problem with LL Bean products but I purchased the Black Watch Plaid Men's Pajamas. The quality that I have always found with their products, was not so with these.
I washed them and never had as much lint with anything as I did with these. I filled my fist with it and was sadly surprised. The quality of flannel cloth that LL Bean is now receiving from overseas is inferior.
Please review your product and you will see that it doesn't match your quality labeling. Should anyone still go ahead and buy these pajamas
they are going to be disappointed.
I did take a picture but I couldn't transfer here.

When these pajamas were washed, large amounts of lint and color were released. The lint filter in the dryer was full 3 times.

For many years I have purchased or received as a gift your mens' flannel PJs each Xmas, but you lost a customer, LL Bean, when you eliminated the medium tall from your lineup this year. Although a female, I always found the women's sizing to be off, especially in the length, but the men's fit perfectly with the extra length. This was a very disappointing change in your offerings, and I hope you re-think that decision, bringing the medium tall back again next year. Bummer!

The flannel on this item is very inferior to the normal quality of LL Bean. Fabric lint from the pajamas is all around the house. When washed and dried lint fill up the dryers filter.

Terrible! For the second time, I have been hugely disappointed by the quality of the flannel pajamas and matching bathrobe. The flannel is such cheap, shabby quality that it disintegrates in the washing machine and dryer, leaving a huge amount of lint in the filters. But it does not end there. The material continues to disintegrate leaving lint all over the house - on carpets and in bedding. I have been wearing LL Bean sleep-ware for 60 years, and the quality has NEVER been so terrible.

I have washed this item 4 times before wearing them and still can't get the fuzz off them. My sheets are covered with little balls of material from the pj's. Also they shrunk due to the 4 pre washes and drying. Not llbean quality.

I have been buying LLBean's pajamas for more years than I can count. They have always been comfortable, well constructed, and lasted for years. I had read the negative reviews on these before I ordered them, but given my history purchasing LLBean products, I ordered two new pairs anyway. Unfortunately the reviews from others were well founded. LLBean has changed their design and I believe the material of this product. They do not fit the same as their previous product. The material simply does not seem as good, it does indeed leave a significant amount of lint in the dryer, and so I strongly recommend against purchasing this product. It pains me to write a review like this, but I hope LLBean will bring back the old product.
On another note, a previous reviewer stated that in a discussion with an LLBean sales rep, she had said the design of their PJs had not changed. The customer was right and the sales rep was wrong. These PJ's are not only of a different material and cut, they are also of a different design with a tie-string at the waist that was not there before, and a shortened length on the top. I really like LLBean products. Its a great company and I will continue to purchase other products from them, but someone made a terrible mistake here.

I purchase a pair of these every year and the quality has gradually been declining but this year was definitely the worst. I didn't have as many issues with the pilling as other reviewers after washing them by themselves initially but these are downright thin and not winter weight at all. I called to speak to a representative about the quality and they said they hadn't changed them since last year but I beg to differ. They are definitely inferior to last years and every year prior. Customer service recommended washing them before wearing to thicken them up and I did that but sadly, no change. Sending back.

I've been buying these scotch plaid flannel pajamas for eons, mostly from LL Bean. Unfortunately, my recent purchase (01/2017) represents a huge decline in quality.
There's lots of shedding, even after two wash/dry cycles. Made a complete mess of things. Perhaps, if I washed the pajamas another couple times, the shedding would stop, but by then, there probably wouldn't be much fabric left, given the rate of shedding so far.
I've returned this item. I'll try again next winter, as I have, in the past, always really liked these pajamas. Let's hope they'll have a better supplier by then.

I've been purchasing from LLB for DECADES !!
You could always count (in the years gone by) on the best quality of items from them.
But, now global manufacturing and their LACK OF QUALITY CONTROL has produced nothing but JUNK PRODUCTS from various overseas countries.
The brand new flannel pajamas are also RIPPING. The flannel veneer is so thin and just tears.
PRODUCTION: EL SALVADOR !!

I returned these pajamas because the cotton flannel was not soft and had a strange odor. My wife tried washing them once, but the problems remained and there was excessive lint. Not up to my LL Bean expectations.

Got these beautiful, expensive flannel pajamas as a Christmas present. They are beautiful and comfortable until you wash them! If you want a laundry full of RED lint balls, these are the pajamas for you. I would expect more from L.L. Bean for better quality. I tried washing them twice and all of my colored clothes came out covered with red lint balls all over them!!! Very disappointed in the material of these flannel pajamas.

I purchased the green/black scotch plaid pajamas and the experience was horrible. After one washing the lint filter literally had a quarter inch of lint. And upon wearing them, the pajamas continued flaking on my white socks, bed linens, chairs and anything they came in contact with. These little round black lint balls were everywhere and trying to pick them off was endless and never was able to rid them from items they came in contact with. I basically have ruined items I cannot wear.
After this happened, I wished and dried the pajamas two more times and even after the third time, the lint filter had a hand full of lint. I returned them and got a different color and they are fine.

Comfortable but cannot live with them due to the LINT/Piling coming off on bedding, all over white marble bathroom floor. I even had the ducts cleaned fearing this black fiber content was coming from the heating/cooling duct work. Wrong--it was these pajamas all along!!

In the recent past, I have purchase several flannel pajamas from LL Bean, with no problems. I ordered this pair at the usual XL size. My size and weight have not changed during that time, yet the pajama bottoms sizing has. The pajama top fit OK. I followed the laundry instructions for the pajamas. What a mess; the material shed a large amount of lint both in the washer and dryer. The pajama material was noticeably thinner after the laundering.
