I have been shopping LL Bean for 60 years. Once again I was pleased with this purchase that was made on line.
I did have to shorten the legs by 4 inches to get the best fit.

I bought the pajama set for my husband. Since my husband has lost weight, his old LL Bean flannel pjs no longer fit he needed new ones. He loves these new comfortable pjs!

Color: Bean of Freeport, I love these pajamas, got them for my husband. They are perfect. Well made, Wash well and return to a good look. No puckering or shrinking when washed in hot water. Warm but not too hot for Florida. I just ordered another pair. Though men wear sweats a lot to sleep in
every man needs a pair of nice pajamas, perhaps two.

We wanted matching flannel pajamas (okay, he's kind of just going along with it) and tried another popular brand, but the fabric quality doesn't compare to LL Bean's flannel. I opened the bag when it arrived from that other brand, ran my hand over the fabric, and immediately sent them back. Our LL Bean flannels are bliss compared to everyone else's. So soft, warm and comfortable, and very well made.
For my husband, we got him an extra large. The fit is just right. He's 6'2" and 210 pounds with a huge Santa Claus belly (like, really, really big). If you've got yourself a big tummy, the extra large can handle it. But if you don't, the fabric drapes beautifully. They don't look like men's maternity wear if your center section is nice and trim.
The first thing hubby commented on was the colors. We ordered both sets of PJs in the Hunting Fraser plaid. They're so beautiful with a vintage look, perfect for him but also really charming colors for me. I can't stand girly colors, and that's all I seem to see on LL Bean. So I'm loving the men's flannel for myself. The color combination is very unique. The chocolate brown and turquoise make them especially nice. We both love how they look.
As for how they fit me, the wifey, I'm fine with oversized PJs. In fact, I love them huge. I'm 5'8 and about 145 pounds, with long legs and super long arms. Women's PJs aren't ever long enough. I chose a size large for myself, since I'm quite excellent at shrinking absolutely everything, even the dogs. It's a good thing I don't have sheep, because they'd be in extra trouble. The pants are cut in the seat kind of, well, wedgie prone. Maybe they just need a huge rump roast in there to fill out the fabric. But they're so nice and roomy, I can't feel it. The waist has a tie you can tighten up but keep loose enough that you only have to do that once. I love pull-on, no fuss PJs.
And most important for me, the arm length is fabulous. I love them extra long, and with women's clothing I can barely ever find them tolerably long, let alone perfectly long, and never extra long. The top doesn't bulge outward from excess fabric. Even straight out of the bag, never washed, the fabric has a nice drape. I'm expecting some shrinkage because eventually I'm going to forget and wash them in warm or hot water, but even then I doubt they'll shrink up into the tolerably long range. I think these are going to stay extra long, which makes me very, very happy.
Okay, so they just arrived today and we haven't washed them yet. I've read most of the reviews and see some comments about a change in fabric quality and increased pilling. Well, again let me just say, compare these to other brands. You can't. They simply don't compare. They're fanatically made, and the fabric is likely going to age just fine. Flannel pills, even the best. That's been my experience. I've had LL Bean flannel sheets for years and eventually any pilling, and there's always some, washes and wears away. That soft, fleecy texture is what makes flannel 'flannel.' As surface fibers wear, they have to go somewhere. I'm a very finicky shopper and I'm not feeling even a little bit concerned about these pajamas. I think they're going to age just great.
The only gripe from my husband is that I also ordered a pair of matching felted wool slippers in blue. We look like jolly Smurfs in our plaid PJs and super comfy slippers that remind him of hooves. Cheers!! :o)

I must have purchased at least a dozen of these over the past 20ish years. My husband completely loves these. Yes the lint is extremely heavy at first but that is what all flannels do. I would rather they continue to use this flannel and let me wash it a few times. The flannel is still warm and lovely even after 50 washes. I hope LLBean never stops making these.

Like wearing puppies to bed.* Never wearing stupid "clothes" again. You can bury me in these, with a smile on my face, and flannel in my heart.
* No puppies were harmed in the writing of this review.

Soft; warm; good sturdy fabric; well stitched; good fit! Just what I needed for our good, old fashioned Vermont winter this year! Obtained my first pair as a Holiday present. So happy with the first pair, I bought another!

The legs are a little long, or mine are a little short, but the overall design of these pyjamas is first rate - good fly closure (button), spare button, 2 pockets in pants (unexpected, but nice), good waist cord set-up (easy to tighten/loosen).
Second pair, because I so ilked the first. Mid-weight, soft feel.
What's not to love?

PJ sets are so difficult to find as most stores sell the pants and shirts separately. These sets are exceptional. No shrinkage after washing and keep their shape, warm, soft and large pockets in the pants. We've been looking for quality pj sets for years and are so glad we found these.
