These jeans fit me like a glove. I ordered a pair before this, sz.29, but they were too loose and I almost didn't order them in a smaller size but then decided to give them a try (I wear 28 in Levis) and I'm so glad I did! The 28s are perfect and I'm ordering another pair. I like the high rise because it's more slimming. The ones that sit right at the waist are not comfortable for me. I also like the fact I can tuck things in and still have a smooth look. I'd like them in a blue jean or some other color or wash without the 'distressing' that so many jeans now come with. And I'd like to say something about distressing—it makes the jeans look dirty instead of just faded. The wrinkles at the crotch don't help. Why not let the jeans fade as you wear them so they still look clean even tho faded. These Madewell jeans, unlike Levi's, go up to the waist and keep that line by not cinching in that top button to make sure they don't fall off?! Why, they're not going to go anywhere... I am an older adult with a nice figure so I appreciate these jeans - they keep me young looking without any added rips or tears or waistline at the hips that must be painful.

I have a few pairs of the Perfect Vintage, and these do fit one size larger. So, I take a 24 in these but a 25 in other pairs (even though the content is the same). These are the perfect dark grey. I would say they are lighter than a washed black, so a touch more grey, but still dark. Exactly what I was wanting. Mine came with a brown back tag instead of black, but I have seen both in stores. Perfect ankle length without being too long; I am 5'5 for reference. Another perfect pair of jeans from Madewell and a great price/delivery from Zappos.

High rise is too high for petite size. Size runs large.

I really wanted to like these. On first try on they were good, full length in regular for me (5-2), great grayish brownish off black wash, pliable, high rise, comfortable, skinny- straight leg. Then after a few minutes the cheapness of the cotton elastane mix showed and it stretched out, felt like cheap not semi premium denim, started to sag and the knees and thighs bagged out in a ill fitting way. They are overpriced for what they are and feel a smidge above target jeans quality (I’d rather get target, those are a good deal for fast fashion).
