I ordered two pairs, one black and one gray, and the material is totally different between them--one more like regular denim and one more solid and shiny. Also one pair fits perfect and the other one is too loose and too short! Same size and style. Doesn't make any sense and it's annoying. Returning one pair.

I ripped a hole in the crotch on one fall as big as my fist. Not made like they use to be.

Larger and baggier than normal 511's. Also had some perma-wrinkle thing going on in the crotch area that I could not see in the picture. No bueno!

These are different than the 511's sold in regular Levi's stores (which often have a black Levi's sizing patch on the back). The ones in the Levi's store fit me great, these are much too tight. I then tried to exchane these at the store and the guy said these are the jeans sold at the outlet. Even the small red tag on the back pocket doesn't say "Levis" on it. If you have tried on 511's in the store and are basing your sizing off of that then you will be disappointed.

Ordered the Rinsed Playa 32x36 and the advertised color in the pictures is not even close to what I received. The jeans are actually a MUCH lighter blue in person and I don't believe the pictures are of the correct color. Also ordered the same size and cut in a khaki version and those fit as expected while this other pair did not. They were much tighter around the waist and crotch than would be expected and are longer in length than any other 36" pant I've had. I may exchange for a different color in a 34x34.

One year ago, I ordered a pair of slim Levi 511 in the rigid dragon color. They fit well, legs are slim and the seat is appropriate for my body type. They held up for a year, and popped a belt loop just recently. I ordered a new pair. Same brand, same size, same style, different color. Different fit. They are loose all the way through, the material feels lesser than the pair I ordered a year ago.

I bought a pair of these last year and loved them. They wore down pretty fast, in less than a year, but when paying this price, I felt I couldn't expect much more. So when I bought a second pair, I was extremely disappointed to find that they changed the fit (plus they got rid of the sequoia color, which was perfect). I bought the same size, because the last pair had fit me great right out of the box, and the new pair did not fit me in the waist and thighs, while they were looser in the cuff, taking away from the "slim fit." Levi's said they changed the name and not the fit, but that is not the case. Sorry to say, it's not.

The images show a solid dark denim, but when I received them, they were already very faded on the thighs and knees, not the style I was expecting.

Levi's are really the only types of jeans I own and wear. The thing is, they vary so much from pair to pair. I bought two of the exact same style and size, the only difference being color. One fits great. The other, I can't even get on. Have to return them.

I'm 5'4", 140 lb, fit build, 29x30. I noticed that the material was much lighter i.e. "thinner." But just like the previous ones, a perfect fit. Off to a wash, then to the tailors' for an alteration. That's when I noticed a significant change. The thighs, calves and everything else were constricted to say the least. I understand that it'll shrink after a wash but this feels like it shrank way too much. I've been a Levi's wearing man for decades, but I don't remember them shrinking this much. I love the fit of these jeans (before the wash), I might buy a size up & experiment.

Before you buy this particular style, you should know that these have those permanent wrinkle marks that only teens would have worn three years ago. I've only seen these ridiculous wrinkles on the front thigh, so I didn't notice them in the picture. They are being returned. The fit of the pants is good. I ordered a size up, so they are more tailored, but not skin tight.

I would not recommend the Anthracite. I have other pairs of the 511s in other colors (e.g. black stretch) which are among my favorites. The Anthracite pair, however, has a weird crunchy/plastic-y feeling, as if the fabric were coated with resin or shellac. So while the pants technically fit OK, they have a weird uncomfortable feeling that has not gone away after a couple of washings. They look good though, so if that is all you care about knock yourself out.
I'd also recommend:
Instead try: black stretch 511s are somewhat similar with great comfort

I have several pairs of 511s. My prior pairs? Awesome. The most recent pair in Anthracite? Not so awesome. If you order the Anthracite color, be forewarned. I washed on the gentle cycle with cold water and hung them to dry, following the instructions on the label prior to wearing them. The color that washed out slightly left a brown undertone (perhaps the color of the underlying fabric?) and a few white streaks in creases. Meh. I'll stick with 511s. Just not Anthracite.

Nice fit out of the package. However on washing in cold water and drying on low cycle, shrinkage was 8.6%. A 29 inch inseam became 26.5 inches and unwearable. You need to figure in for that much shrinkage on ordering. Waist measurement was minimally affected.

It is a low rise, with a very firm inner seam that rubs ones private parts very roughly. It is still noticeable when worn low as recommended. Regular fit on me are very blouse'y in the seat and legs. Recommend Levi improve their inner seams.

I've had 511s before that were actually skinny, but these ones seem really baggy and look pretty bad. I washed them in the hope that they would shrink, but it didn't help. I can't return them now, so I'll see if a tailor can make them fit better. The wash is also kind of cheesy. I was hoping they would just be dark denim, but they have a weird pattern.

I bought these jeans because I already have a pair of 511's that are my favorite. This pair is pretty terrible though. I am a thin guy and these are so tight they are pretty much unwearable. I got 32X32 just like the other ones and they aren't even close to the same size. Guess there are maybe some consistency issues with the new colors. I'd consider these more like the 510 super skinny if anything.

I got a hole in the crotch of my old pair so I ordered what I thought was the exact same pair. When I got them in the mail, I opened the package in front of all of my housemates and when we saw what the pants looked like we all laughed. The white stitching is awful looking. I'm no clothes snob but man, it looks lame. Gonna return em and try somewhere else. Sometimes is hard to know exactly what you are getting when you get clothes off the internet...

Every pair of Levi's fit differently. I've owned 3 pairs and all 3 have fit different. Roll the dice and see what you get.

In case you can't tell from the pictures, these are rigid - completely unwashed. And the waist size is much smaller than listed. Going back to Zappos - nice color though.

These jeans are too stiff to even zip all the way! They are the RIGID jeans, which the site doesn't mention, even though They are the same size as the other skinny pair I purchased, had no idea they were this type Levis, bummed out wearer wanting two pairs this week!

Levi's needs better quality control. I ordered these having owned a couple pairs of 511's before; assuming I'd get a great pair of jeans like the ones I currently own. I couldn't have been more wrong the color looked great, but the jeans felt terrible. The length felt two sizes longer than I ordered and the waist was two sizes too small. There is no reason for these being so vastly different for another pair of jeans with "allegedly" the same cut from the exact same manufacturer.

Fits much tighter than any other 28/32 Levi's 511 jeans I've ever tried on! Do not like the color either! Stiff!

I bought this jean in size 34x32 and when I tried them on I noticed that they are actually longer than your average 32 length jeans. I compared them to my current Levi's 506 jeans which are also 34x32 and the 511's seem to be almost an inch longer. So heads up before you buy these. They also come with that crinkled section in back of the knee which I personally dislike. However, that is my fault for not noticing it when I purchased the jeans.
