Great help from Colm at the Smithhaven store. He made sure I got boots that fit my needs and made sure I was satisfied. I would recommend the boots and the store to others!

I have bought these boots 3 times. As a driver making deliveries and walking all day in all types of weather these boots are the best I have found so far to make my feet as comfortable, warm and dry as possible. The weight of the boots make them feel like sneakers.

Very comfortable and easy to hike in. I usually buy an extra wide size boot but the regular width boot fit me perfectly.

Most comfortable boots i'eve ever owned. When I put them on to work around the "gentleman farm" on which I live, I felt like I was bare foot again, as far as the weight, after trading them for my worn out Vasque Sundowners. My wife is getting tired of me telling her how much I love thee boots.

So far this has been a great boot for my daily walks. The employee at the LL Bean store was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Super comfortable. No break in. Relatively cool in summer (high country Colorado) and warm in 20s and 4" of snow). Ordered a second pair for dress shoes.

Have had these for almost 2 years now. They are easily the best hiking boots I've owned. I've used them in wet conditions, dry conditions and in snow and ice (with spikes) and they are phenomenal. They're broken in from day one and are 100% waterproof. Although they aren't totally worn down I'm going to go ahead and purchase another pair to have when the time comes to change them out.

I've worn these hikers for a couple months now and overall they fit well, are very comfortable and provide good support. I have treated them with silicone water proofing and they have been waterproof. Too early to comment on long term durability

The boot reminds me of a lighter-weight LLB Cresta boot. The sole is not as stiff for climbing, but it is thick enough that it feels good on a rocky trail. Good value for a leather boot.

I usually wear Keens, but decided to try these since the Keens wear out so fast for me.
So far - a solid boot. Seem to be waterproof as advertised A bit heavier than the Keens, but I like them.
Very good value.

Comfortable, light and tough. My only complaint is that they don't come in Wide Widths. Have held up well so far but I've only had a couple of months.

I have only hiked about 100 miles in these hiking boots and they are great so far. Most of my hiking is in the rugged mountains of Western NC. The boots required very little break in and are very sturdy and comfortable. I will know in about a year if they are durable and still waterproof.
L. L. Bean takes care of its customers so I never worry about trying a product I have not used before.

These are, without a doubt, the most comfortable hiking boots I've ever had and they were that way right out of the box. I've put about 200 miles on them so far and they're as comfortable as ever, with no real signs of wear. I wouldn't use them for anything very heavy duty but, for the approx. 4 miles a day I hike with them, they are a perfect match.

These boots have good ankle support, the soles are slightly rockered and light in weight and have the feel of a sneaker. I always like a full leather boot like these.

So far, i'm quite impressed with these boots. I generally wear my low-cut trail running shoes for hiking, so it was an adjustment having this much support in the soles and the high ankles. With Covid and being stuck at home this winter, I needed to get into winter hiking to keep my sanity, so some waterproof hikers were necessary. I gotta say, these boots exceeded my expectations. The adjustment time was minimal and these required hardly any breaking in. I struggle to find shoes that are wide enough, but these have a wider fit than most. I've only worn these in cold temperatures so far, but they seem breathable enough and they've kept my feet dry!

These and Mucks are the best boots I have ever owned and I have owned a lot of boots over the years. The workmanship is excellent. They were comfortable from the start, excellent traction and very quiet for stealth walking. I will certainly get another pair if these wear out. I hope you all find them as enjoyable as I have. I do not usually write reviews, but I believe credit should be given when credit is earned.
ps: I am a Rural Mail Carrier and spend a lot of my time on my feet and my name is Foote, so I know what I'm talking about.

We'll I have put on about a 150 miles of lite hiking since I purchased them.
No Break in required...
I have put them through, Mud, rain, snow, ice, rocks, and even a little paved trail.
Simply put.... a darn good hiking boot, shoe, and slippers all rolled in to one.

I'm not a real hiker per say, but I wear hiking boots a good bit. I had the Merrill Moab boot which I thought was too stiff and heavy. I did a lot of research on boots and wanted a leather boot, 3 lbs or under, water proof, and looks good on the street. The LLBean Alpine Hiker met all of that. My trails are flat but with a lot of roots and a sneaker is just too soft and you feel everything. This boot was perfect with enough stiffness to feel firm on uneven ground. I wear a 10 1/2 and they fit perfect out of the box. I wore them around inside for a day to see if there were any hotspots before taking outside. My first trip was in a dog park with a lot of wooded trails and they felt great. The more I wear them the better they feel. I looked at higher price boots, like Danner, but the Alpine Hiker was the best looking boot to me. I've been in wet grass and mud and have stayed dry. I don't know if I will need to put any extra waterproofing on them or not, still debating that. If you're looking for comfort with great looks you should give the Alpine Hiker a try.
