My husband has particular issues while finding a likable pair of shoes. He has a wide foot and often has trouble finding shoes with both comfort and style built into one pair, leaving a large number of shoes worn once or twice. DO NOT FEAR! These were perfect. Width was perfect, style is casual enough, well made and the most important factor, he loves them! Thank you LLBean!

Well made and comfortable shoes. I use wide width. The top back of the shoe is tough and took a few short days to break-in.

Very sturdy light hiker. Not overly cushioned insole and lots of support. Looks great and good for every day casual attire.

I bought these shoes after looking at several different styles. I tried Danner, keen, and other namebrand hikers. Then I settled on the L.L. Bean version. I really like them. The wide width convinced me. They're very comfortable with no break-in.. I highly recommend them for moderate hikes or just as an every day shoe. They look great with a pair of jeans!

I have worn this model shoe for many years. Always a perfect fit right out of the box. Good waterproofing and grip on slippery surfaces.

These shoes are unbelievably comfortable and seem to run true to size. I bought these to replace a much beloved light hiker that I wore as my everyday shoes. I am happy to report that I like these shoes even better!

I was looking for a small but sturdy shoe to use for hiking when traveling and these shoes worked very well. I used them on multiple 3-4 mile hikes on my most recent trip and they were durable and comfortable. The mesh upper is breathable but not waterproof, so your feet could get wet on rainy days or tromping through streams. I wore regular athletic socks with them but think they would fit a touch better with hiking socks.

These shoes are exceptional.
I have always had problems with blisters when walking or hiking in warm weather. I bought these shoes last year for a ten day trip to New Mexico. They needed no break in period and were great for walking and hiking.
As a result, I bought two more pairs to have in the event they are changed or discontinued.

I've been using waterproof hiking boots for backpacking and my feet were always too warm so I tried these, both for the ventilation and the lower cut since I haven't had trouble with sprains. I backpacked for 6 days in the Gallatin range of Yellowstone, 80 degree weather, and really appreciated how much cooler my feet were. The first day was raining so my toes got wet but other people on the hike with waterproof boots complained that there socks were wet due to perspiration. I just put on a dry pair of socks and was comfortable but more days of rain would have been a problem. The big drawback to these is that the sole is softer than my boot's soles and, when hiking over rocks, I could feel the rocks more. I think that would be a problem if there was a lot of rock climbing; my route was mainly over good trails. I would be happy to buy a version of these which have firmer soles and higher cut. As they are, I will use them a lot as casual shoes.
