This is the second pair of these boots I have ordered in the past year since my daughter outgrew hers and needed a new pair and I had just ordered myself some, so she got the brand new hand-me downs! The first pair I ordered were the Gortex-lined style, and I ordered a size 9 since I am a 10 and the website recommended ordering down a size. The 9s were too small so I ordered a 10 which were the right length but buckled on me so I got the 10 Narrow which were perfect. The shearling-lined version are wonderful and warm and I love the softness of the buckled leather, but I wish they also came in Narrow since they are too wide for me. The fact that they don't come in Narrow is the only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars. If you don't have narrow feet, they are awesome! I'm going to keep them, because they're perfect otherwise, and keep my feet really warm and dry in all sorts of weather conditions, but offering them in Narrow would be great.

I always wanted a pair of L.L. Bean waterproof boots. I But, kept putting it off. Too expensive, don't need them here on Long Island, etc. Well, I decided this year I was not settling for an inferior product anymore. I called the customer service dept. I spoke with Charlie and she was great. She answered all of my crazy questions and got answers from elsewhere when she could not. I bought the shearling lined because the thinsulate ones are on backorder until Jan. They were ordered on tuesday and arrived on thursday. The fit is great. I have one foot that is a size 9 and the other 9 1/2. We ordered the 9's.I don't wear heavy thick socks. Basically sweat socks. The boots have a little room if I want a thicker sock but they are okay with the mid weight. I can't wait for the cold weather to hit so I can wear them. But, since I am prepared now, it won't. I am definitely going to be a regular customer from now on.

These boots were a first time purchase for me. Had an online chat with an associate to find the best boot for my needs. I believe these will be great for cold , wet, Maine winters for everyday use, but unfortunately they were not true to size. I ordered as suggested but there were way too big. I ordered a size 8 in Women's which I normally wear. The width was perfect and I normally have a wide foot.I am planning a trip to the Freeport retail store soon so will hopefully be able exchange them for a smaller size that fits. The leather is soft and very comfortable.

I am normally a 6 1/2. There was no half size available so I chose 7, figuring the fleece lined plus my socks would fill it up, but they are pretty big. Not even my thick socks fill them up all the way. Although you can lace them up so your feet dont fall out, I feel like a clown wearing boots larger than my feet. They are super comfy and warm, I would recommend them, I just wish I would have chosen the 6. Unfortunately there is no store near Boston to exchange them so I am stuck with these expensive shoes a bit too big for my feet / :

the boot was very well made. for me there were sharpe edges on edge of tongue at bottom where it joins the inside . they were just to heavy for me and maybe to wide. i thought i would try this type of boot but it did not work out. thanks

I ordered my boots pretty late in the game so they were on back-order for a few months. I finally received them and they fit perfectly! I wear an 8.5 because my feet are a bit wide but I can fit an 8 in most shoes. I took everyone's advice and ordered down. I actually ordered a size and a half down (ordered a 7) and got them in the wide. The shearling is darker than I thought it would be but the leather is SO nice! I haven't been able to wear them yet because its hasn't been so cold here in NYC as of late, but I'm not worried. I know they will come in handy next winter and I'm excited!

I really liked the tumbled leather. It has a broken-in feeling and doesn't rub on any bony prominences. The shearling lined really keeps my feet warm and cozy, but the one thing I was slightly disappointed in, was the fact that the tongue of the boot isnt sewn into the sides like the thinsulate or gortex bean boots. I was really looking forward to keeping my warm feet, dry, and the snow out. However, I can see past it since I live in AR and it really doesn't snow that much. Overall, I'm proud of my purchase and look forward to using my bean boots 3 out of the 4 seasons.Would definitely purchase again!

I decided to pay the extra money for the shearling lined boots because I wanted them to be super warm for winter. I was so disappointed to find out that the shearling is only around the ankle, and there is very minimal insulation for warmth around the toes, which is the whole reason I purchased the boot. If I put thicker socks on to makeup for the lack of insulation in the toe, it's too thick for the shearling in the ankle. Not a great design and definitely wouldn't recommend for any temps below 30. Also the suggestion to size down 1/2 size was incorrect for me they're too small. They are nicely made otherwise, but overall disappointed.

It bought these at the outlet store, when on vacation. I tried them on and purchased mid summer. I thought they would break in some but mistaken. Stiff and tongue does not lay properly flat to allow ankle to flex. Also the laces are so horribly stiff and unable to be tied appropriately and stay tied. Even put mink oil on laces to try to soften. A real pain to get off due to eyelet holes and no hooks, like other boots. No speed dressing or undressing feet for sure. Outside sole will not flex so tread is not gripping in snow. Inside lining is heavenly and warm.

I decided to return these boots because in the description it states these are "chain-tread outsole gives reliable traction" and "Best for rain, slush, snow". These are the worst boots for slush and snow with absolutely no traction whatsoever! I woke up this morning and decided I just can't pay $250.00 dollars for a pair of rain boots. I've been looking at these boots for several years and finally decided to take the plunge, I'm so disappointed.

Wanted to love these. I have the rain Bean Boot which I love. But I needed warmth. While they did keep my feet warm they pinched the tops of my feet that within 3 days of wearing them my feet were swollen and quite painful. Trying a different style of snow boats in the hopes of finding comfort

Disappointed these boots are only lined on the top. The warmth is need on the foot not just the ankle. Wearing thick socks to compensate then makes the boot shaft too snug.

I'm so glad we got the size figured out - the first Nor'easter of the season has already dumped about 2" of snow here. LLBean's customer service convinced me to follow their guidelines and order a size 7 (I normally wear 8-1/2) so I thought that was just weird, and I was right. I couldn't get my foot into the size 7, even wearing nylon knee highs, never mind actual socks. So I exchanged them for the size 8, and that's much better - as far as the foot fit goes. But if you have muscular calves, like mine, the tongue isn't wide enough to cover the distance between the sides of the shaft - and the laces aren't long enough to go the distance, either. The laces aren't that big a deal, but I kind of expect a better relationship between the width of the foot and the width of the calf, considering the price paid for these otherwise nice boots. I'm really hoping we don't get the 9-12" of snow that were predicted, because when I go to shovel the car out, I expect to get snow down into the boots because they don't meet around my calf. Or just wear the Tims, minus the sheepskin lining.

Honestly not my favorite boots. Right off the bat the construction looked sloppy. The stitching was coming out messily on both boots, and parts of the leather were unevenly cut. As far as warmth goes I definitely have to wear wool socks even with the shearling lining. Overall they feel very large. I didn't feel like my feet were sufficiently warm, and I have not worn them in large quantities of snow so I can't speak volumes about whether they are truly waterproof. They are fine, but I am certainly more partial to my UGG Adirondack boots.

If you want boots to walk around in when its not too cold out, these would work fine. However, if you want boots that will keep your feet warm in weather below freezing, you will be disappointed. I bought these in the hopes that I could wear them to watch outdoor winter sports in, and I eventually used them for mushing as well. My feet were always cold. you might be able to get away with wearing these in 20-30 degree weather, but I wouldn't try long periods of time outside in anything colder. Now that I know better, I'm returning these and going for a warmer boot. a note about size: I normally wear a regular women's nine in shoes, and I got a nine in these. With thick socks on the width is good, but I had a good amount of extra space in the toes.

Well I love these boots. However the inside sole is rolling from the toe down and it's extremely ignoring. I've tried to get it out but no go. Just thought you might like to know that spending 300 on these boots this shouldn't happen at all but certainly not this soon.

I have gotten many products from L.L. Bean. These boots are extremely not comfortable but look excellent. I have always wanted a pair so I finally bought them. Just a little disappointed.

These boots are great in size. When they arrived they had notches on the back were you would pull to get the boot on,I contacted LL Bean and they sent me another pair and the same thing I did keep them and returned the 1st pair. I just hope after many pulls it does not start to rip across. I did send pictures but got know response I also included in the return box pictures also but no response.

These boots are okay. They are the same quality boots I would expect from Bean, but they just don't measure up to my Signature Shearling Lined Suede Bean boots. These boots don't have the shearling lining on the bottom of the sole like the suede ones too, and it makes a huge difference to me. They don't keep my toes warm like the other boots, so for this price, I just ended up returning them. I live in New England so I need something more functional and the fully lined boots are so superior, I guess I'll just have to stick with those for now since it appears those are the only Bean boots that come with lining on the sole.

I sent this item back because it is no longer fully lined. You must wear socks with it or it feels rough on your ankles.

LOVE the style, I wear wool socks from LL Bean with them but for some reason my toes are freezing!! I don't think there's any leaking going on, not sure what it is...but like them for the style. I'm usually a 7.5-8 but got a 7M and they're a perfect fit with room for the socks.

I ordered these in both size 8 and 9, normal size is 8 1/2. My feet get very cold and these boots do not have the shearling lining in the foot portion. I was very disappointed as I did not read that in the description, but should have read closer. I thought about keeping the 9 and wearing thick wool socks with them but preferred to send back since my husband has same style and his feet get cold in his. Wanted a boot that would keep my feet warm when doing outside chores in frigid temps and was afraid these would not fit the bill.

I have had a pair of Sorel and Uggs for years, and although I love them both I was hoping for something that would work as a combination of the two: the warmth of Uggs but also waterproof. I thought this would be it, even in the store they looked and felt great, but once I got home and tried walking around casually in 20 degree weather, my feet froze! Definitely not what I was looking for, so unfortunately had to return. They were very comfortable though, seemed pretty sturdy and waterproof although I could not really tell from the short time I had them, and they look stylish.

Boots LOOK great, and I loved them at first. But after a full Winter in these, I found that they lack greatly in the warmth department. My feet absolutely freeze in these boots, in temps below 25 (which is most of our Winter). Even with wool socks! Yet again....looking for warm boots.
