I did a lot of reading. I did the Hoka shoe survey so the site would help me determine what shoe was the best for the workouts I do. To clarify, the first Hoka shoe I purchased was the Clifton 9. I loved it. Super comfortable. Great support. Even with a broken toe I could still workout. Then, the sole fell apart after 4 months. I never wore it outside. I returned the Clifton 9 and received a Hoka online credit. Now what shoe to get? I wanted to stay away from the same sole type so I didn't run into the same problem. Reading... Survey... Was told the Solimar was THE shoe for me. I do a combined weight training/cardio workout. Dumbells, Kettle bells, weighted medicine balls. Jumping, burpees, jump rope etc. The Solimar is comfortable. Fits well in the heel and mid foot. BUT, there is no support in the toe area. My workout has a fair amount of lateral movement along with planks etc. This shoe doesn't keep my toes in place. They continually slide over the sole edge to the outside of the shoe. Even though this shoe is listed under the crosstraining section, it is NOT a good shoe for aggressive training. Maybe straight road running? Or just walking. Had I been able to try the shoe on in a store, and not deal with an online credit, I would NOT have purchased this shoe.

This is my second pair of Hoka shoes. I was so excited to have another pair of the most comfortable brand of shoes that I have encountered in ages... However, I haven't had this new pair for a month, and there is now a hole in the lining, which created a huge bloody and broken blister on the back of my heel. Although I am likely to keep purchasing from this company in the future, I am very disappointed. This doesn't seem like normal wear and tear, as I purchased less than a month ago. Bummer...

I own other pairs of hokas and was excited to get these in a solid black....wore them on a trip and they were not comfortable. Did not last through a great amount of walking.

At first I couldn't stop raving about these shoes (the comfort of plush hokas but with a slimmer profile) but after wearing them on several walks around the city and through the airport, the insert in my right shoe came lose and now rides up the back of my shoe each time I wear them. The feeling drives me nuts and I question the quality of these shoes. I've owned many Cliftons, Machs, rincons, etc. and ran so many miles in them but never had this issue with past models. I am so sad because I love these shoes but can't get past the insert moving out of place each time I wear them :/

This is the first pair of HOKA's I'll be returning. Not very comfortable compared to the Clifton.

I was excited to purchase the Solimar for walking/training after reading reviews. After a couple of days, I realized they didn't have much support so I bought orthotics hoping they would help. Unfortunately the shoe doesn't seem to have enough room for them. They just didn't work for me. Disappointing.

I didn't understand what the difference was in regards to the name of the different shoes. Everyone kept telling me how wonderful the shoes were. I gave them now and have worn the 3 times and they just feel ok.was hoping that I would feel the soles feel lumpy?

I have high arches and there was no arch support. There was less cushioning than in other Hokas. Felt flimsy overall.

I recently heard about this shoe and thought I would try them. My feet were sore after wearing them for two hours in my house. I'm sure they work for a lot of people. I'm just not one of those people. I have problem feet, so I will stick with what I know works. I sent them back. I will say Hoka made them easy to return!

I was rather disappointed with my recent shoe purchase. Despite diligently researching reviews regarding sizing and comfort, the shoes I received were uncomfortably large and failed to meet my expectations. In contrast to my old Nike running shoes, which I've reverted to due to this disappointment, the fit and comfort were noticeably subpar. Hoping for a better fit, I initiated an exchange for a different pair over a month ago. Regrettably, there has been no communication or updates since I sent back the original pair. The lack of information about the status of my exchange, coupled with the absence of a refund, is causing me considerable concern. I find myself increasingly anxious about the possibility of having paid for shoes that may never reach me.

This is my third time trying to find a style/model with enough cushion to power walk and I haven't had much luck. One shoes feels like it has more cushion than the other. Just an odd feel.

This is probably my 6th pair of Hokas. I usually buy the Bondi and I do play sports in them but the tread on these are fading fast on the upper fourth of the bottom.

I was very excited about these shoes but unfortunately they hurt my feet. I thought it was because I needed to break them in but I have done over 50 miles on them and they still hurt. They squeeze my feet and make them feel like they are falling asleep (tingling feeling). It is not the socks either because I use proper running socks. I have used several Hoka shoes before and this is the first time I have been disappointed.
