Love the beta jacket, but you know what I would love more? If arcteryx brought back the Phantasm colour, it's beautiful, and lots of people at more local store agree about this colour

Amazing jacket! At first it might look like a normal one but it's ridiculously good in the rain or even the snow

High quality shell jacket. Perfect for biking, hiking, walking in the rain, great shell for skiing and snowboarding. It is really durable and good for daily use as well.

I really like the sizing-XXXL!! Hope that it keeps me dry, but it has not rained in Vancouver since I purchased the jacket!! However, you know that it certainly will!!!

8 hours paddling in Yukon during a torrential downpour. At the end of the day I was the only person with dry clothes. I was wearing a hat and easily rolled the hood inside to prevent pooling. The large side pockets are easily accessible to the point I could access them without taking off my PFD. Cuffs closed easily and prevented any rain from going into my sleeves. Barely sweat despite working to paddle, wearing my PFD, and 20 degree temperature. Literally shook it dry after the fact. Best rain jacket I've ever owned.

Read this if you want a sort of "long term" review. (4 months) Excellent improvement in comfort, as the new backing in the jacket is way better than old beta. I can see why some are not satisfied with the DWR treatment, as its not as effective as the older PFAS DWR treatment. But after the first time i treated with DWR it beaded water perfectly. So as is with any changes its not going to be the same. But the improvements on the fabric itself, it's thinner, stronger and softer. It completely makes up for the need to reproof the DWR more often.

I'm a 20+ year user of Arc'teryx jackets. For skiing, sailing, climbing and bike packing I'll never use anything else. Reliable and Arc'teryx honors there pledge of looking after their customers if anything goes wrong. Thank you for my replacement jacket after my other one served me 18 hard years.

Have only had it a couple weeks but so far so good. Extremely impressed with lightness of the fabric and breathability. I love the cut of the jacket as well. My only wish is that it had pit zips, but I can make do without.

This is not a review about the jacket - I've owned it for 7 years (I guess it was called Beta SL Hybrid Jacket then), and it was the best jacket I've ever owned. I contacted the support team because I noticed that the seams were starting delaminate, which after 7 years of use, I was not surprised about. I just wanted to know how to repair them myself, or if they'd repair it for me. Instead, they sent me a gift card to cover the entire amount (tax, shipping) for me to purchase a brand new Beta Jacket. I was shocked that Arc'Teryx is willing to stand behind their product after 7 years of usage! Their products are a bit expensive - I think we all know that - but after this experience, why would I consider any other brand? THANK YOU!

Superb build and premium fabric, though the fit is surprisingly massive. Even with my 51" shoulders, it feels oversized. Ive had to rely on tightening the hood, hem, and cuff adjusters to manage the extra volume. Great quality, but runs very large!

Jacket is light and super waterproof. I ordered the large but with the new sizing I could have got the medium.

Great shell but it's definitely expensive. Haven't put it to use yet so can't speak to the goretex but it looks great. I'm 5'8 and I got the medium. A little big but I figure rain jackets should be bigger so you can layer underneath.

This is my go to ultimate protection against heavy rain and strong winds. It's a great lightweight and easily packable shell. But where did the armpit zippers go??? True, it's my own fault that I didn't check the website description against all the assumed details (does it have two side pockets? Is the hood attached between the sleeves?), but I thought that at this price point I'm getting a quality jacket.

Burn like damage all over the shell after 1 use. I went snowboarding and I did not know that this jacket wasn't intended for that activity. The jacket is great and still functional but I just got it and it looks so worn and used after 1 time wearing it. I was going to buy a ski jacket but was recommended the beta instead. The bloor street location also made me feel like I was dumb for taking this "durable" jacket snowboarding, saying that it obviously isn't meant for snowboarding and is just a "light rain" jacket. Just disappointing given all the stories of how long these jackets last and how excited I was for years to finally get one. Just keep your expectation low

I purchased the Beta Jacket last year and wore it fewer than five times before noticing some strange stain spots. Concerned, I took it to an Arc'teryx professional cleaning service, but after cleaning, the stains became even worse, spreading to areas like the hat and neck part. I brought the issue to the store, where the sales associate suggested it might be due to water leakage caused by a material defect. I submitted multiple claims, but the process was frustratingsometimes receiving no response, and other times going back and forth with no resolution. Now, after six months, I have stopped wearing the jacket altogether. Most disappointing was my last attemptI sent the jacket to the repair team, expecting a voucher or replacement. Instead, they sent it back in the same condition with no resolution. There seems to be no quality control or effective customer service. My family, friends, and I have been loyal Arc'teryx fans for years, purchasing numerous products. However, this experience has made us seriously question the brand's quality and service. Very disappointed!
