I got this shirt for long day hikes and I'm so pleased with it. It's super breathable, comfortable and keeps me cool and out of the sun. I have worn it backpacking and it held up fine against the straps as well. Highly recommend. I am 5ft and petite and the small fits perfectly as I like a quite relaxed fit.

I have multiples of this shirt I use it so often! Works as a sun protective layer on high alpine summer days without overheating or as a warmer breathable layer on winter trail runs. It is my go-to long sleeve year round!

This has been my go to long sleeve sun shirt all spring, summer and into the fall. I will continue to wear it in the winter also. I love the UPF factor as it reduces my need to slather my arms and back of neck in sunscreen working outside most of the year (I'm lazy). It is airy and light with good length for coverage in the body and arms and the hood sits well over a hat, toque or just your head. Odour control is a meh, but I'm a naturally sweaty person so my activewear pieces tend to smell more than drier folks. I primarily wear this hiking and on the water in my kayak and SUP. I will probably get another one to rotate between.

I've had the taema hoody for about 4 months now and wear it at least twice a week for work and it's help up well! My favorite thing about it is that it provides good sun protection in the desert heat. It covers my neck and isn't too tight around it. The hoody fits comfortably over my climbing helmet too. I have a shorter torso and it's the perfect length for me. I liked it so much I got two !

Love this so much! It's the perfect sun hoody / wind layer at times light enough to not get all that hot, but also protects from the wind and provides light warmth on a windy day. Thumb hole placement is great, and the hood is the perfect form factor to fit under a helmet as well as to protect from the wind and sun on the sides of the face. A go-to on any climbing day or a hiking day!

I have very small shoulders and the XXS fits perfectly without being too tight. I used this layer for a 4 day 3 night backpacking trip in high temps and it was breathable, kept the sun off of me and the right amount of wicking while moving and sweating! I plan to use this layer climbing this summer and beyond! This is a MUST layer for your closet!

Love the Taema Hoody! I am 5'5", 155, and purchased the M in Desert Salt. It's a breathable, versatile sun hoody that dries quickly, stays fresh, and looks sharp after washing with castille soap after a long hike and hanging over a line or bar. The hood stays in place, even though it's cordless. What's more, it's really low profile when you have the hood under a jacket. I have worn it with my Atom LT and the hood just tucks in naturally and really nicely so that you don't even know it's there. I really like that this color allows me to bring together gear in related colorways across seasons. The fabric is pretty perfect for spring and fall if your movement in the outdoors is vigorous. Makes me think it will be great in summer as well.

Love how light and airy this material feels. The thumb holes on the sleeves are also a nice little bonus.

I hike a lot and was looking for a light weight hoody for sun protection. Perfect! The fit was great.. not too tight or loose. I'm 5'6, 133lbs, athletic build, and size small fit great. Fabric is soft/ breathable. I only wish it came in more colors like a light blue. Highly reccomend!

I absolutely LOVE this sun shirt, except... Why are there no proper thumb holes?!? In my mind it makes no sense that the men's version (Cormac) has proper thumb holes while the women's has a tiny strap to shove your thumb through. The strap is close to the end of the sleeve so it doesn't allow for much hand coverage and it is quite uncomfortable. I have short arms and the thumb strap still feels like it is digging into my hand. On a brighter note: the fit is great and felt true to size. It's loose enough but not sloppy and the material feels cooler than other brands I've worn. I'd honestly buy the Cormac if it went small enough because the material is so great! If women can have proper thumb holes on the next iteration, I'll buy more Taema hoodies :)

Sun hoodies are the only thing I wear outdoors in the summer. I like being outside, but I also like to hide from the sun. The Taema is the perfect lightweight layer. It dries quickly when wet (or sweaty). It also is UPF 40 rated, protecting from UV. The thumbhole situation is interesting. I'm not sure I like it. They tucked the loops into the sleeves. There's not a dedicated hole in the sleeve. My thumbs randomly find them when moving around. It's an interesting and cleverish design.

This is my absolute favourite trail running shirt. Perfect as a sun shield for exposed alpine runs (not too hot), yet somehow warm enough for all but the coldest days on the PNW. Dries quickly, does not get weighted down when wet, and the hood is great for extra protection when on glaciers or snow. Hands down my go to shirt all year long!

I own three Taema hoodies and still feel like I need more! This piece is incredibly versatileperfect as a sun shirt or light layer in the summer and my go-to base layer for ski touring. The hood is just the right size, staying securely in place, and the material is the perfect balance between breathability and warmth. If I had to choose a favourite layer, this would be it!

Really love this product. The fit is perfect but shoulders are a little bit tight. Would be a must having a hole in the hood for a pony tail.

This was a great purchase, originally bought for my first backpacking trip and found it to be awesome at keeping me cool in the sun, stink-free, and arms/neck/torso didnt get burnt! I found the arms to be a bit tight at first (think lulu swiftly tech long sleeve tight), definitely designed for someone with lithe arms, but they gave out a bit with wear. It may be worth trying the mens version of sizing up if youve got strong/bigger circumference arms. Otherwise great purchase and I would recommend!

As a trail and mountain runner, I spend a lot of time on foot out in the sun and the elements. I recently came back from a week-long trip running in the Sierra Nevada mountains and I wore my Taema Hoody almost every single day! I love how light and breathable the material is, yet extremely comfortable! I can run in the mountains all day in this without ever feeling too hot with high output adventures. I also love the sneaky thumb-holes at the sleeve and love this design so much more than the thumb-hole cut-out in most other sun shirts. Another thing I absolutely love about this product is how big the hood is. I often feel that with most jackets or hoodies I buy, the hood is too small or doesn't cover my head and stay on if I am wearing a hat or my hair up. Though I've only worn this trail running so far, I feel the Taema Hoody would also be an excellent choice for rock climbing as well!

I love the lightness of this fabric, and the neck/hood area is so perfectGreat coverage and comfortable. I got a size small and it fits my body perfectly, but because there is no stretch it can feel a little tight around my upper arms when I'm doing certain movements. If the arms/shoulders were a little loose this would be perfect. I bought it at the same time I bought the t shirt, also in size small, and that fits perfectly. A medium would be to big. I love the off white color and the brown color, I got both!

When reading other reviews, a theme seems to be that the hoodie is not very stretchy, but the revised hoodie seems stretchy enough! The fabric is so light, but feels durable. There is a striped pattern in the fabric that I couldn't see when online shopping. The hood is a nice size, and the arms are the perfect length. I am 5'2", and I got an XS. One critique is that the arms should be larger in diameter. The rest of the hoodie fits loosely, but the arms are tight and seem designed out of proportion to the rest of the hoodie.

I have two of these sun hoodies and love them! They havent gotten stretched out or faded in two seasons. I really like the hood and how it protects my neck and the sides of my face from the sun. I have a shorter torso and the length is perfect on me. I wear it in the heat of the summer, and the winter for touring on sunny days.

I am a climbing guide and I have worn this sun hoody a lot!! It definitely does its job of protection from the sun, has a nice big hood that fits over helmets and is super durable! It still honestly looks near new after thousands of days in the field and doesn't stink, stretch out or get stained. Not sure how they managed this, but nice work! Improvements could be made as far as stretch, tactile comfort and fit. It is a bit warm on really hot days as it is not super breathable. However, despite this I wouldn't trade the durability for more stretch. Also, it fits a bit baggy and could be a bit more flattering..but once again, the durability outweighs this. I keep pulling it out as it is the only sun hoody that has held up to day after day use! If Arc'teryx really wanted to hit a home run..they would keep the durability (as I have never had a sun hoody last this long), make it in a more flattering fit, add more breathability, add stretch, a high neck line and cinch hood. Then this would be the absolute best!!
