This backpack is so durable!! We have had one for years and decided to get a second. The sizing fits well for every member of the family to use it. I like that the colors will stand out on a bike.

Too early to rate this. It is intended as a 3 season pack and this isnt the season.

I bought this bag over 5 years ago in a color that's no longer available but I rave to almost everyone about this bag. It's held up through 5 years of school and hiking and it looks good as new! I love the different features that makes it very versatile for both casual use and hiking such as the pouch for a water bladder that can also fit the average laptop, the many pockets for all my daily needs, and the fact that the clip waistband can tuck into the back of the bag when not in use! This bag is by far my favorite bag that I've ever owned and I have used it almost every day for the past five years so it's definitely worth the money!

I borrowed my fathers bag for a trip and had to get my own afterwards. The bag is a good size, plenty of room in the main compartment for anything you'd want to put in it. It will fit under the seat of an airplane. The padded compartment will fit multiple tablets or a laptop. There is also a small padded zippered pocket on the inside at the very top for valuables. The side pockets are adequate as well as the front pocket. There is a umbrella pass through on one side too. Each external pocket has a nice clasp and strap to keep things secure. The straps of the bag are well padded and include a chest and waist straps to distribute the load better.

This is a nice, roomy bag. I picked it up at the store, hoping my 12yo son wouldn't mind that it's a bit non-traditional of a bag. He loved it. It has way more space than most other bags. Each compartment is a space perfect for stuffing all of his things for school and the biggest compartment is larger than most. Sides are a flexible but soft structured canvas-type material.

Great pack. very sturdy and well made. Side pockets could be a little bigger, but they will hold a Smart Water bottle. Not the lightest pack out there, but very rugged. Comfortable with nicely padded straps. Hard to beat for the price

I purchased this rucksack for my son who attends a day program that requires him to pack a change of clothing, lunch and snacks and anything else he may require for each day! The rucksack goes above and beyond and is made with quality materials. I am hoping that it will last him for a long while! I chose LL Bean because years ago I purchased a lightweight day pack to carry my son's things and I still use it to this day! The quality put into the merchandise has been beyond par each and every time. Thank you!

This pack is attractive and seems sturdy. It is not meant for long back country trips or expeditions but could do very nicely in many situations. It's appeal for me is the simplicity of the design. It is an old school design with some modern conveniences like the little hole for a water bladder hose. I like the slide through sleeves under the side pockets that you could use to hold skis or trekking poles. It would be fine on a day hike and of course as a commuter or book bag.

years ago, 3 decades ago, I purchased a LLBean rucksack that has traveled extensively around the lower 48 and at least one trip over seas. a leather corrective patch on a corner of the front pocket. I didn't want to purchase another one, but this continental unit has some upgrades. A pouch for the water bladder, a pouch for the current media intertainment thingy, plus it still has a huge main compartment to hold a thermos, sweater, gloves whatever!

Super comfortable backpack. It can hold a ton of stuff. The only complaint I have it I wish the material was a bit tougher, but it should be ok for regular hikes.

I originally received this as a Christmas gift about five years ago. This was my main hunting pack for about two years and I loved it because NO EXTERNAL ZIPPERS! You can easily get to anything you want inside the pack without making any noise that can spook wildlife. After two years, this became my backpack for work that I used daily. The laptop compartment is a great addition, but it can be used for anything. now that I no longer need a backpack for work I'm going back to it as my hunting backpack! L.L. Bean has continuously made improvements on the pack over the years, but it essentially remains the same. I just wish it came in more colors, like camouflage like it once did.

This is my second one. Well made, plenty of room for a day hike with good arrangement of exterior pockets to grab essentials or trail snacks. What is not to love. A 32oz. Nalgene bottle does fit into a side pocket so no worries there. Nice looking too. A classic ruck.

Great day to light overnight pack. As a day pack, this is a no brainer. My daypack rig has the the following: 1) main compartment with puffy, raincoat, 10 essentials, extra socks, ankle brace, trauma kit, Mini-Trangia and 4 oz fuel, 2 liter hydration bladder, 5k mA powerbank, and 10x10 piece of Tyvek. 2) front pocket with keys, phone, notebook, 3) left pocket has quick access things like gloves, bandana, etc. 3) right picket has snacks, fixed blade knife, cordage, multitool. That's the spring/fall setup. About 2/3 full. For a solo overnight, you could do it, if you were in to tarps, bivys and such. It would be easy to split a tent for two people - the sleeping bag may be an issue - I generally go with a 50 degree down bag and wear my next day's clothes on overnight - but that's just me, and that's in weather where if I misjudge, I wont get hurt. The side sleeves are pass through, which is a nice bonus for tripods or poles. The hipbelt is enough to do it's job for the amount of gear it will hold. It's not ultralight, but i'm not putting in serious miles either. It seems sturdy enough and the sewing was top notch. As a travel bag, it would, for me, hold a weeks worth of clothing, if I washed every other day. It has a great 'vibe' to it. Old Mountains. Old school.
