I normally wear an E or EE in shoes. These are medium, D, but quite comfortable for me. After wearing them off and on for a day they fit just fine—will stretch and give. Easy to step into.
Also, the shoe is very comfortable and warm. Having a thick sole is another bonus.
No need for socks.
I'd also recommend:
Sketchers, SAS, Ecco, Mephisto

I am an older, active, large man (6'2"/235) who craves comfortable footwear. I own multiple Sketchers products and I am a huge fan. My foot is in between a medium and a wide width depending on model and construction. As such. I struggle often finding house shoes/slippers. I chose I have size larger in order to compensate for a potentially narrow shoe. However, these are more narrow than I expected which detracts somewhat from their overall comfort level. I really enjoy the comfort when actually walking around and you don't notice the extra pressure from a more narrow shoe. When sitting down relaxing, then the extra pressure from being somewhat more narrow takes away from their overall comfort level. While I love the style and the overall feel of the shoe, that limitation of being somewhat narrow detracts from my overall rating. I would recommend this to anybody who has a more narrow foot but caution people who are in my category. I do not think that a larger size would have been the answer. I believe the construction is just such it's built for more narrow foot.

Sole was hard than anticipated, and you will tap tap tap your way across hard wood floors.. The insole is a nice touch, However due to the rise with the insole they fit tighter.

Reps were not trained thoroughly about how to exchange for a different size said one thing and then it was not right as stated by another associate. Service was misleading and information given was incorrect. Will not order again.

Really good looking. But Zappos calling them true to size is wrong, wrong, wrong. I ordered a half-size larger just in case and the width is extremely narrow. I wish they were right, but they are NOT cut like other Skechers.

Quite possibly the most uncomfortable pair of slippers I have ever worn. They refuse to break in. I have owned these for 2 years, have even tried repeated use of a shoe stretcher, and these slippers will not get comfortable!

Zappos' description says that these are true to size. For length that may be true. But these are FAR narrower than they should be. Skechers needs to get these off the market unless they specifically state "exceptionally narrow." (No, they won't.)
