Not the shoe I thought it would be. The leather was way too hard. The upper cut badly into my ankle and was very uncomfortable. Since I own over a dozen pair of JM shoes I was expecting much more from this shoe, especially given the price. Im still a huge JM shoe and clothing fan. I just wish this shoe was soft and supple as described in the shoes info.

I really want to like these shoes, however, they cut into the top of my foot if tied snuggly.

I recently purchased a pair of Johnston & Murphy shoes online (Felder & Briggs). The sizing was a little different from other shoes I've owned so I ended up exchanging them for another size. The assistance and communication I received pertaining to the exchange was helpful, courteous, and efficient. The look and feel of the newly exchanged pair are fabulous -- couldn't be happier! My thanks to the staff at Johnston & Murphy customer service! Keep up the good work!

I really like the look, feel, and fit of this shoe. What I didn't like is how vulnerable it is to water. On the very first day wearing them, I accidentally splashed a little water on them while washing my face at the bathroom sink. Those drops of water permanently discolored the shoe. If just a sprinkle of water will ruin the shoe, I'd hate to think what would happen if I got caught in the rain, so I returned them for full refund.

Very nice shoes but can't find a size that fits. There is too much material over the top of the foot on this model. JM's sizing is very inconsistent from shoe to shoe. It must cost them a fortune given their generosity of covering shipping both ways.

Looked nice, fit was tight on top of toe. Very nice quality, just not for me.

I own about half a dozen pairs of J&M shoes, and this was by far the most disappointing. They do look very nice, but honestly not worth the asking price, even on sale. But they have some kind of design flaw where the tongue is attached to the shoe that rubs a nasty blister into your foot. It happened to me on both shoes. I've never had this before, always found J&M supper comfortable. I have another pair of sneakers and various XC4s, all of which can wear all day, and also for my commute. I'm currently stuck on a business trip with these as my only shoes, and I can't wait to take them off each night. I've tried various socks from thick to thin, makes no difference. I'd say conventional leather dress shoes would be more comfortable. The soles are decent, the shoe is okay. But at this price point I expect exceptional, and this did not deliver at all.
