Well let me start off by saying I have been wearing SAS shoes for about two decades. I started wearing this brand, as it was recommended by several work associates in the casino, where I work. It didn't disappoint and wore Timeouts in the beginning and later when they introduced the Guardian, this was my go to shoe. Did all that it claimed especially slip resistance which in a restaurant is key. Job changed, need to get brown slip resistant shoes and this is what I found. Spent over $300 on shoes and started to slip at work. Reached out to the company and was told to stop wearing the shoes! Can't work without shoes! Now I can't find something in that size or style. Basically there was nothing they could do, but give me a discount on shoes that were not the combination of brown or slip resistant. They said they wouldn't be able to resell them. If they did what they said I wouldn't be trying to give them back! I am shocked this how they do business. Was told they are slip resistant. Description clearly say NON SLIP in the title. Give a company close to twenty years of loyalty and this is how they treat their customers. Food for thought if you are thinking of purchasing these. Sad thing is shoe is comfortable. IT NEEDS THE SOLE FROM THE GUARDIAN!! Shoe falls way short on that end and it is listed as a work shoe on top. Live and learn. Don't make the same mistake. You are putting your health and safety at risk! They don't care either. I reached out and the description says the same, as when I purchased them. Never expected this to unfold this way. What a shame!

I had been wearing New Balance walking shoes, 9.5 WW, when I was referred to SAS shoes by a co-worker. I ordered with these dimensions, returned them, and then ordered the Walkaround in 8.5 Reg. Width. They fit perfectly, similar to the New Balance, however I found out that I no longer need to wear my Dr. Scholl's 420 Inserts. I had been wearing these inserts because at the end of my 12.5 hr. shift, my dogs were barking pretty loudly.
The original shoe laces, similar to leather cord which I loved, didn't last very long, maybe 2-3 months. However, SAS supplied an extra pair of shoe laces which were shorter and are waxy braided leather, which I love even better! Hopefully they will last much longer and I can find an identical replacement at that point.
I do have some concern about the soles because they have wore down quite a bit in the four months they I have wearing them. My work terrain is at least 75% rough asphalt and concrete. However, despite the wear, they grip really well on any wet surface.
I will definitely buy these again in the future, hopefully several years from now!

I often wear a 10 1/2 wide and ended up with a 10 wide in these. Love the look. They are a heavy, sturdy shoe. Seem very well made unlike a lot of the other more well known brands that wear out every 6-8 months. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for work/the office. Highly recommended.

Was really looking forward to receiving these shoes. They are well built and are very nice looking. However, the sole of the shoe did not bend or flex at all, not even a small fraction of an inch. Because of the sole stiffness I could not comfortably walk in them, so I returned them.

Great for walking on uneven terrain. Old cities with cobble stone walk ways. They are more stable than running shoes this application.

High quality material. The wide toe box is noticeably wider than most shoes of this type, but easy to adjust to and noticeably comfortable. Can make the overall size feel a half size too large, but in reality not. And with walking shoes, a heavier sock is usually encouraged for longer walking times.

I am 78 and try to walk a lot and for that use this shoe is super comfortable and the sole is very stable. It feels better on my feet than any shoe I've ever had on bar none. Worth every penny. Plus it's Buffalo hide.

Finally a pair of shoes that my husband likes. Every year I try new options for him and I always end up returning. Very excited that at last we have found something that fits well and he enjoys.

I use this shoe both for everyday wear and for work. I work as a Head Usher in a large entertainment venue and at work I can be on my feet for six or more hours a day when we have two performances. These shoes provide needed support and are very comfortable. I will repurchase - right now I'm on m second pair and about to send the first in to be resoled.

I like the extra wide vibrate sole with stitching on the outside of the shoe sole, which gives better lateral stability than SAS's other models, which I tend to wear out in 6-8 months. Because of the Vibram sole and the way it is attached, it should be very easy to resole, which is very important given the premium cost of the shoe.

I've worn the same style shoe by SAS for approximately 20 years. In fact I'm still wearing the 20 year old shoes working in the yard. They are comfortable, they last and I like the look.

The SAS Walkaround 13 W shoe is typical of the brand. As soon as I put the shoe on, I knew it was similar to two other pairs of SAS shoes I got from Zappos previously. The arch support is supple, the toe box is roomy and accommodates wide feet well, and the shoes simply look good. Walkaround is also not a shoe you’ll see coming at you from all directions. It has a unique, attractive look. 10 on 1-10 scale!

My feet over the years have become more tender, and my left foot started to have problems. The podiatrist suggested that I change brand of shoes. The company he encouraged me to research was SAS, the best advice, and the best shoes my feet have experienced. Thank you SAS

I walk 4 to 6 miles in these shoes on pavement, gravel, dirt and grass everyday. They are the best walking shoes I have ever worn. I have very wide feet and had been wearing NB USA size 9 in their widest version. These shoes are 9 extra wide and they fit beautifully. The vibram soles are great for walking and soak up rocks and other uneven surfaces with ease. Made in the USA and ability to have resoled brought me in and the comfort will keep me buying these shoes.
