I am not sure if this is normal or not...just wore these for first day. Love them. Perfect size, perfect width, super comfy even walking all day. But, the liner seems to be peeling from the foot bed. I am really sad about this, and also disappointed given the price. Will see if I can exchange for different pair.

I have suffered with plantar fasciitis for many years. These sandals have proven to be a life saver for me. They are now my everyday footwear. I even travel in them. I have a second pair for dress shoes. My plantar fasciitis has healed. I plan to just keep buying another pair as they wear out. I much prefer the cork footbed to the suede because I live in a hot, wet, rural environment which the cork can handle. I am on my third pair and would love more!

These shoes are adorable and super comfortable BUT the top layer of the cork footbed started peeling up and breaking apart after wearing them TWICE. As in, I looked down and there were cork pieces stuck to the bottom of my feet (they hadn't gotten wet and there was no lotion on my feet).

These are my favorite summer sandal. The cork is super comfortable and they are perfect for casual dresses or shorts. This is my 3rd or 4th pair. The first time I bought them I didn’t have time to break them in and took them to Portugal unworn and on the first day did almost 20000 steps and my feet felt great. I put a lot of miles on these shoes which is why I’ve bought a few pairs over the years!

This is my 6th pair of these sandals. I have red, white, blue, black, tan, and another red. Obviously, I love them. Great for summer travel, as they are lightweight and easy to pack. The soles are amazing on almost any terrain including long walks on brutal European cobblestone. The fit and comfort are so good that wearing them is better than going barefoot. I would not wear them in the rain - or for, say, aggressive hiking or yard work. I suspect the soles and leather tops are not weatherproof. My oldest pair is about 3 years old. The fit and performance is as good today as when I first purchased them.

This sandal is very comfortable especially for my problem feet — bunions on both plus inflammation in joints. i ordered size 5 wide, my usual size. Great fit. I was really hoping this would be the sandal. But I wore it around the house for two hours and the very thin cork surface started peeling from the base. They would be better off not having such a flimsy overlay and stick to a very well-defined footbed. I’m returning.

I got my first pair of the Marina about a month ago and I really like the cork footbed in these. The cork footbed is a little firmer than the suede footbed. For me that makes them a little more comfortable. I only wish the straps on these were a little longer to better accommodate my high instep and that they made some of the Sanibel with cork footbeds. I have not had the problem that some other reviewers talk about with the cork falling apart.

Shoes are falling apart after 6 wearing them less than a dozen times. Haven’t had any water on them - just wear them to my desk job at a library. Really disappointed. If they were only $50 I’d just forget it but at $160 they’re going back.

I am returning these SAS shoe because though I only wore them 3 or 4 times the footbed cork is pealing off. As you will see the shoe is very gently worn therefore this seems like a defect, as I have owned this exact shoe in the past and wore it for a couple of years and this never occurred.

I've been buying SAS shoes for decades. I tried this black Marina t-strap sandal with the cork insole. I have not worn them in rainy weather. The cork is puckering and peeling off. I let my shoes "rest" in between use.

SAS shoes have changed my life. I don't write reviews on Zappos. I have wide feet and an issue with my left foot which has caused me great pain for years. I have been wearing Merrells (wides), which have been my go-tos for years. I haven't worn sandals for years...But, not any more. I have purchased 4 pairs of SAS sandals in the last few weeks and each one is comfortable right out of the box. I am not in pain and my posture and ability to walk have improved. I haven't felt this good in a shoe in years. Thank you, SAS, for making these shoes for those of us that are not a B/M width but still want a cute, supportive sandal. Thank you, Zappos, for the ability to try these and send back those that don't work. Seriously, changed my life this week.

I have very short wide feet (almost half as wide as they are long), and these sandals in wide are perfect. They have great arch support that doesn't squish down over time and the velcro fasteners keep my foot from sliding back and forth. Usually I can't wear thong sandals because the piece between the toe rubs too much, but that wasn't a problem with Marina. I've worn them on vacation, walking for hours in cities, mountains, and jungles and over all sorts of terrain. Even my sneakers aren't as comfortable. They are dressy enough to wear out to dinner, but can be worn to the beach with shorts as well. The leather is a bit stiff at first, but it only took a day or two for them to soften up. I have them in brown and blue and love both colors. Please SAS, keep making these, and consider designing the exact same sandal with a slightly higher heel/platform (2-2.5") for dressier occasions. And, make them in green and yellow as well! I'll buy every color!

These sandals are one of the most comfortable sandals I've ever worn. Since I live in Hawaii, I wore them almost everyday for about 5 months before I noticed the interior cork foot lining was cracked in half on both shoes. Not sure how long before that time they actually cracked. Additionally the velcro stopped sticking like it originally did and I am positive it would have stop sticking entirely if I kept them much longer. Thankfully Zappos is taking them back because for about $130 they should have lasted more then 5 months. I just bought the Dazzle I think they will work better because the foot bed is leather and they aren't velcro.

After only one summer of wear, the cork on the footbed is peeling. This is very disappointing given the price I paid for this shoe. I only paid that price because I thought SAS was supposed to be high quality. I will be much more cautious from now on about the expensive prices charged for SAS shoes. Given that other reviewers have reported this problem too, SAS should heavily discount what they charge for this shoe.

Loved the look of the shoes, and couldn't wait to wear them. Initially, toe strap was very uncomfortable - had to buy bunion cushions to prevent getting rubbing sores. Then even worse, after 2 wearings, the "cork" started to pull off the sole of the shoe. For $175, I expect better quailty

I love the style and fit but the thin cork on the bed of the shoe started to pucker. I'm sending them back-too expensive for this to happen.

The toe strap is too long for me. Also, the cork is delaminating from the edges of both shoes. The shoes I received have clearly been worn. The original shoebox was missing. If this had been my first order from Zappos, I would never buy from you again.

I bought these sandals for work, I am a teacher, within six months of on and off using them, the insole came off completely. I contacted SAS, explained the situation, and they replaced my sandals. Within a few months, the front strap from one of the sandals just came undone. The seam came undone. I was left barefoot on the street. I contacted SAS again and asked if they at least could repair my sandal. I was not asking for a replacement. I was told that they don't repair and that they will send me a $25 coupon to be used on my next purchase. Unfortunately, I won't buy this or any other product, even though my husband and I own a few already.

Purchased these shoes while on vacation. Within 3 days, the cork was peeling off. Contacted the store and they were nice enough to send another pair. Same thing happened. Returning them for refund. Sad because they are extremely comfortable but the footbed needs to be made of a different material.

Loved this shoe until the lining on the footbed was changed to cork. The cork fell apart and came up making an expensive pair of shoes unwearable!

These shoes were the first pair of shoes that have alleviated the major foot pain I have been suffering with the past year. I ordered them in brown and they are very cute and stylish however the cork lining on the footbed has almost completely peeled off in less than a month! I am used to paying $$$ for shoes since I have such problem feet but I am not happy that these are almost unwearable after only a month. I did just begrudgingly order a second pair with the different footbed because as I said they are the first pair of shoes that have enabled me to somewhat function normally again after almost a year. I’m hoping they hold up better but I wish SAS would make the other non metallic colors without the cork lined footbed ?

I wanted to love this sandal. I didn’t like the feel of the cork footbed. It pinched when I walked in the area of the ball of my foot. They really bent when I walked in them. For the cost of the sandal I didn’t find them comfortable.

I've been wearing SAS shoes for over 20 years. I love this Marina shoe in black because it has the sueded foot pad. However, I purchased the blue with the cork liner and had to return it because the cork lifted after wearing it once. Bottom line, I learned a lesson, won't purchase the cork anymore but love the other foot bed. SAS: Please, please make this shoe in every color with the sueded foot liner! Also would love to see this in yellow, green, and pink! PS: As someone else stated, the price point of these shoes should allow for free shipping. Your prices have increased drastically over the last 10 years; quality and shipping should be reflected in your price point.

I initially LOVED the color of this sandal and purchased them at my Mesa, AZ Factory Store. They were on sale and was told by the store manager that the blue color was being discontinued. I wore them the first time for a few hours, just out to dinner. Second time I wore them to work where I primarily sit all day. On my third time wearing them, the paper thin cork layer began to completely disintegrate. I called the store the next day and was asked to bring them back in (I had only had them two weeks) so the store manager could see them. I loved the comfort factor of them so, I was willing to try another color, without the cork layer. I had to pay the difference from what I originally paid and the cost of another pair. It was only a difference of $10.00 or so. I've thoroughly LOVED my new black sandals. SAS skip the cork layer and bring on oodles of bright colors!
