These shoes are a new addition to my "walking tires"! I am fortunate to live very close to grocers, necessities, and bus stops. Many days I walk 2+ miles.
I also like the durability of the soles, which might help during wet and winter weather.
I've been a big fan of SAS Freetime shoes for a long time, and welcome this step-up to Walk Easy as I keep moving out there.

Back in 1998, I purchased SAS Free Time for work and loved them. Wore them for many years in addition to their Liberty and Patriot. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago and Walk Easy has arrived to my door step. i put them on, walked around the apartment and then to work. Extremely comfortable. Walking on air. I love these!!!!! I will definitely buy another pair.

They are SO comfortable. I only wish they came in a grey color.
I own all the other colors.

I really like the SAS brand. They are made with quality leather and other materials right here in the USA. I tried several different styles of their shoes and found the fit (size) and quality consistent no matter which style of shoe. So overall an A+ for SAS sizing and quality. I really loved this shoe. The fit was great and the comfort was wonderful. This is a shoe that I felt I could walk and walk and not have my feet bothered. I like Walking in this shoe is almost effortless. I'm not sure what to call it - if it is a rocking motion or what, but really easy walking (so SAS named this shoe Walking Easy - very fitting because that perfectly described my experience walking in these), The only reason I did not keep this shoe was because it did not have enough support for me. Now, with that being said, it has really good support - for the average person. However, I need a lot of support. To give you an idea of the kind of support I mean, I wear Birkenstock sandals and Dansko professional clogs. So, even though they were not exactly right for me in the support category, fit, comfort and quality were top notch. I truly wish they would have worked for me. I highly recommend you try them for yourself. I do believe they are worth the money if they work for you.

This is my 4th or 5th pair of Walk Easy. I've worn SAS for years and love them. Walk Easy leather is a little more substantial that FreeTime leather and I like the design. It comes with a cushiony insert, but I use my own. I have really beaten up my current pair, but they polished up nicely for everyday. I have tried other brands but SAS keep me from getting corns.

Wear shoes for 12 hour shifts that involve a lot of walking that need to be in all black or white. Wore Dansko clogs for years with good results. Decided to change up for a bit and bought regular all black sneakers that were not supportive enough for my needs. Found these, purchased, and find them to be a high quality shoe that meets my needs for a good 'duty shoe.' I find it well worth it to spend the extra on a high quality well shoe for my work needs!

Feels like walking on air. Have had them for a year and a half and need new ones, because I wear out the bottoms. They are fabulous, not the prettiest, but very comfortable.

I work in a hospital and have spent so much money on shoes for the past 10+ years. My latest were a pair of famous-name clogs that people swear by, but after a couple of years with these clunkers, my feet were suffering, since the clogs don't flex and are like walking on blocks of wood (plus they had no cushion). I developed such painful callouses on the balls of my feet that walking was painful! But then, at our local good shoe store (sorry, I didn't buy these on Zappos.com but will probably buy a second pair here) I found these. They are so comfy, with great arch support and plenty of toe room. I sometimes wear an 8.5 in a closed-toe shoe and an 8 was good for me in these. They have super insoles, and don't look frumpy at all (my aunt wore this brand and I used to think they were the height of frumpdom :). They have so much support and don't hurt of pained feet. They kind of propell your feet forward. I highly recommend these.

I am a retired nurse and have always had difficulty finding the right shoe no matter what activity I am doing. Over many years I wore SAS shoes to work and I was on my feet 12-14 hours a day. These are the only shoe that I could wear. I have been retired for 6 years and still wear my SAS shoes in the house. They have great support. This SAS shoe is just a step up in appearance and has wonderful support for my arches. I use orthotics and there is plenty of room in the foot bed. This is a quality product and still made in the USA. Buy these shoes you won't regret your purchase. I am so happy with the black shoes I will be buying the brown pair in this model soon.

I love the fit of this shoe for a wide foot. My only problem is the leather on the left front of the shoe was very wrinkly. to me it detracted from the look of the shoe.

Oh, I love these shoes! I bought them in sage nubuck. I usually take a narrow shoe, but lately I've found that SAS shoes run narrow, so I bought a medium. They're exceptionally comfortable right out of the box. I'm deciding which other color to buy now. They're cute and stylish and my new favorite shoes.

I have difficulty with athletic shoes that tie. I have high arch and wide foot. The shoe looks very nice. The leather is soft and supple, would move nicely. The shoe does indeed have a wide foot bed but I was not comfortable with shoes tied. I may need a boys shoe to get the width I need. Thus far I stick to loafers, but would very much like to find a pair of athletic shoes that I could tied and be comfortable with. Will continue to look.

Another great SAS shoe, at least for my feet (bunion, arthritis). The toe box in this style seems wider than my other SAS shoes (mostly oxfords), in an 8 wide. Chocolate nubuck, not the greatest of colors but the tag in the box says the leather will change as it is worn, not sure exactly how ("takes on a warm, natural, relaxed look as you wear it). Wanted this shoe for easy walking and hiking on paths, so I'm not that concerned about the color. Wish it came in more colors though. It's a comfortable shoe.

Comfortable right out of the box. Laces stay tied! Shoes look a bit scuffed. Do any purchaers have more suggestions than are on the website?

I need comfort and support. This shoes does it all, from the very first step. It may sound like a small thing but the laces stay tied, unusual in my experience.

I am very satisfied with the purchase of these shoes. They fit true to size and width. What I noticed after trying them on , was something I did not expect, that is my stance was straighter from my hips down. One other noticeable advantage, seems to be because of the way the shoe is constructed, making walking seem effortless. I do recommend these shoes. They are supportive, wellmade, and an overall quality shoe.

Love, love these. Excellent fit and comfortable right out of the box even though I have a wide foot and bunions. Time to go walking...in comfort!

I walk many miles a day in a hospital. I have a wide foot, high arch, and wear a 3/4 orthotic. I have plantar fasciitis intermittently. These are really comfortable shoes. I can forget I have shoes on and focus on my work.

Very comfortable right out of the box. Wore them for a vacation in Europe with lots of walking without a problem. The only thing I don’t like is they must have metal because they set off the TSA metal detector every time which is kind of bummer since I have TSA precheck.

I usually wear a 7W, but the 6.5W was the right fit in these shoes. The toe box and fore-foot are roomy without being sloppy. I have a narrow heel, so the heel is a bit wide, but using a "heel lock" lacing for the shoe laces, it doesn't slip. My bulky custom orthotic doesn't fit, but a commercial insole (recommended by my foot doc as an alternative) is a fine substitute. I walked miles and miles a day during a recent three-week vacation, and the shoes were comfy and supportive. (Not sure about support with the SAS insole.) And in Nubuck, they don't look like security guard shoes -- I'd even call them cute. The only negatives are that the "rocker sole" takes a little getting used to and the sole is quite stiff.
