I needed a pair of waterproof boots for rainy and soggy days. Also for light slush during the winter. Something with Gore-Tex and American Made. Danner and Allen Edmonds make several models but unfortunately, they are not available on Zappos. I also looked at Thorogood. The only model I’m interested in, I own already. So this left me with Red Wing. Red Wing does offer quite a few waterproof boots but they are all part of their Work Wear collection, which is only available in their retail stores. Except for this one. This boot is part of their Made in USA Heritage collection. It does have the Texon/Poron footbed, so more similar to a Thorogood construction. If you wear Thorogood’s, this should be a similar break-in. The leather is labeled as waterproof in itself, which I found interesting. It may be one of those silicone-embedded leathers you would see on a Nick’s Waterworks boot for example. Or it may be a coating on the leather. I don’t bother to find out but just wanted to pass along, the leather is labeled as waterproof. Also, the leather is a deep red color. My only possible concern about this boot is how the Gore-Tex lining will affect resoling the boot. I did have a somewhat well-known cobbler raise some concerns about having to replace the lasting board (because of the GTX liner). So my point is, you may want to take these back in to Red Wing when it’s time for new soles, let the experts handle their own product. With all that said, couldn’t be happier. I did order two pairs. Looks like Zappos got a fresh batch in from Red Wing. Both shipped with factory fresh packing and 3/22 manufacture dates.

Classic American heritage styling. Water resistance. Brilliant color. Cushy wedge sole. They run a little warm when it's hot and humid. Otherwise, these boots have been absolutely fantastic in the short time I've owned them. I liked them so much I had to buy a couple extra pairs, non Gore-Tex though. For the record, my Brannock is an 11 C/D and I wear 11 in New Balance or SAS and 10.5 in Converse All Stars. These 10.5 Red Wing moc toes fit great. Additionally, though they're great for standing on concrete or asphalt, i find the support rather lacking when walking substantial distances, more than a quarter mile at a stint, so maybe keep that in mind depending on what you're buying these for.

Wanted to be able to keep these boots, they were all around great but they’re just a bit too narrow and not available in wides. Look great and feel great aside from the width.

These are the best work boots I’ve ever owned. Most boots wear out in 8 months for me. These have last a year and show no signs of falling apart. Super comfortable foot bed. Awesome look. Will never buy anything else. Tried on my old wing shooters after wearing these, and I virtually couldn’t walk at the end of the day.

Awesome. These boots were amazing right out of the box. Very hard to find however count on Zappos to have them in stock. I looked everywhere could not find the, found them on Zappos and ordered immediately. My wife actually ordered the same pair from Zappos as she knew how bad I wanted these so had to return one pair. They last for ever, so probably don't need two! Thanks Zappos.

Unfortunately, adding the Gore-tec lining resulted in a larger toe box with a tighter fit around the ankles compared to the Red Wings regular Moc-Toe versions. It is also not clear if the Gore-tec lining will not interfere with molding of the boot to one's foot. The Gore-tec lining is visible around the 360-degree welt which I did not like. The right shoe also had two small pinhead holes need the lower middle side. See pic below
