I love these shoes. I wear a KAFO and these fit perfectly.

Bought these as a gift for my spouse. She's been wearing them for years, but this is her first pair in black. She is a nurse and is on her feet all day. Not very stylish, but it's comfort and support that matters.

This was a gift purchase. The recipient has been wearing this shoe style for over 10 years. It is the only shoe she will wear. Zappos is awesome when it comes to inventory. The actual manufacturer, SAS, was out of stock and was not expecting a new shipment of this style and size until after the holidays. Zappos had this shoe to me we I think 2 days. I will always shop thru Zappos when she needs as not her pair. Thank you Zappos.

I was looking for a good walking shoe. I haven't had a chance to wear these shoes yet but I hope they will work out. It's possible that I might have needed a larger size but a larger size was not available.

I've been buying Free Time Walking shoes for many years now. My only concern is they don't age well. They are still very comfortable but the leather doesn't look good after awhile.

The toe box is much narrower than expected for a size D shoe. Rubbed the outside of my toes. These shoes are also somewhat stiff, while having a fairly good arch support.

New review, I may have reviewed some time ago. I have a number of SAS shoes, mostly in 8W, a couple in 8.5WW. They are good, USA-made leather and or nubuck shoes. They are comfortable , true to size (though I did return two 8W's for 8.5WW's). The big, IE huge problem I have with most of these shoes (and they are NOT cheap), is that the soles are VERY slippery especially on rugs and asphalt pavement. I bought these shoes prior to toe surgery 18 months ago - I needed a joint replaced as I couldn't walk even in other wide width shoes. Now I can walk better but I'm afraid to use these because of the slippery soles. They cannot be "roughed up" using sandpaper and a shoemaker cannot fix them. It may be a rather expensive donation for me, but there is no way I can take a chance on slipping at my age (70's). Otherwise a quality shoe.

I have several SAS sandals and they are very comfortable. I wanted a pair of white walking shoes but these were to tight over the instep and in the toe box. I do have a very high instep and a wide foot. I sent them back. Thank you Zappos for your return service.

A very well made shoe, but for me there just wasn't enough arch support. Back in the day, SAS shoes were the only ones I could wear. But age does take its toll.

These shoes fit pretty well, but I felt frumpy in them. They are very nicely made, and my full-length custom orthotics fit fine. Just not my style.

Too pointy above the ball of the foot. Perforations look ugly. Wish SAS made a shoe that looked more interesting and was wide all the way to the ends of the toes. Otherwise it would have been comfortable.

I have worn the Walk Easy shoe now for a couple of years. I decided to try Free Time in black as I had purchased the suede leather beige color, since that color was not available for Walk Easy. I liked the beige (I think it's called sage, the color that is) Free Time a lot! So, I ordered these black ones same size and width, but have found it less comfortable! It's narrower by some in the instep area, and comparing the soles they just are not the same. I will re order the Walk Easy in black, as that shoe has been very good, just heavier, I wanted a lighter shoe I have NOT found an athletic shoe that I can wear with my Rx orthotics over the past 3 years! :-( I have tried so many: I have some plantar fasciitis, initially a bunion on my left foot sent me to the podiatrist to get orthotics, plus I supinate (wear down to the outside of the sole). Thank goodness Zappos starting carrying SAS shoes, I can find wider widths that way. Without orthotics my feet are a 7 or 7 1/2 B or C width. I have to order EE in SAS shoes!! So glad it's available. Thank you SAS and Zappos!!

This shoe looked a little too much like a nursing shoe. I'm sure it's really comfortable, but it was a little wide for my narrow foot, and this was the narrow width.

I used to love these SAS shoes. But I tried combinations of three sizes and two widths, and in all of them, the top of the shoe digs into my toes uncomfortably when I walk. I even tried different socks with all three sizes. I’m giving up on my search for narrow walking shoes. I’ve tried Propet, and New Balance, and no one else makes such shoes in my size that I know of. They certainly aren’t sold at Zappos, who seem to have everything,

I started with a 9 1/2 WIDE but it was too long and too snug for the bunion. Returned for a 9 EXTRA WIDE. Sadly had to return these as well. The leather upper is too stiff and still pressed on my bunion. The shoe style is pretty for an orthotic. Glad they are made in the USA. Thankful for Zappos return policy!!! Will try another brand.

These shoes seemed very supportive and comfortable, and would probably be great work shoes. I got them in blue, and the color is very nice with denim. I have four pairs of SAS pumps and they are incredibly gentle on my feet after a long day, so I believe in the SAS brand. That said, they were just too "clunky" for me. I was looking for a pair of walking shoes for a trip to NYC I'm planning this summer, and these made my feet look huge, and I'd like a little style to go with my comfort.

Really disappointed. I expected the charcoal nubuck to be closer to black. The shoes are a strange bluish gray. Returning the shoes.

I have owned several pairs of this shoe over the years and have always loved them, and maybe my foot has changed, but I am sorry to say that I just didn't find these as cushy comfortable as I used to. They are expensive so for the price I wanted them to be my dream shoe, just as I used to. I didn't and they were returned.

i could not wear either of these shoes. The width was not comfortable for me. I have to remove the sole and insert ortho's as I have made for me.

A very boring shoe and not as comfortable as i expected it might be. It had no arch support. I give up on SAS. The sizing was correct. The Charcoal upper is going to mark up very easily.

There is little or no traction. I was even slipping on my carpet. I can't imagine on a wet surface or on sand/dirt. I suppose if you are a nurse or waitress or similar, it would be a great shoe for all day comfort. For the rest of us who walk outside, it's not safe.

I own and love a pair of 6WW in red, so I ordered in black. The shoes that came not only feel smaller, but are visibly shorter in length. What happened? I am so disappointed. I would think a shoe size would be more uniform within a single company and a single style.
