I like the feel of this hat. It's not too heavy or confining, but it fits very nicely. It fine for mid 40 degree weather, but my alpaca knit hat is warmer when the weather is colder or the wind kicks up.

The color is not dark blue as it is on the photo. Not too thick to wear in extreme cold.

Hat keeps sliding up a little over my ears. When a wind gust blew suddenly, it went right through the hat and the Omni Heat lining to hit me right in the head.

I recently bought this and it is able to keep my head warm in below-freezing temperatures. One issue I have with this is that there are a couple of small stains on the beanie when I got it and that the stitching for the logo was falling off. I would have expected a higher standard for quality control from Columbia.
