Xero shoes stated on their website that these shows will likely be 1/2 size smaller (to order 1/2 size up), which ended up fitting perfectly. They look good and provide very little, if any, support, which is what I was looking for (minimalist shoes). Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase.

Thought Id wear these only jogging or fast walking. I found I was wearing them everywhere. They are super comfortable. The soles have extreme grip no matter where I go. Ive probably had every brand of shoe in my lifetime looking for longevity and comfort. I found Xero Shoes just a couple months ago and now thats all thats in my closet, well except my work shoes. Have to have the safety toe! A little birdy told me Xero is coming out with a safety toe shoe or boot not sure which but either way when they do come out my current work shoes will join the rest of my shoes at the county landfill! Love the HFS. Never had a better shoe for running and walking. Keep up the excellent work Xero!!

Ive honestly been trying to become a runner for a while now. Why do I say trying? Because I havent been able to progress much because of certain pains. When I first started I started off too hard and instantly developed pretty nasty It band syndrome that wouldnt go away. This is where it gets good. I did strengthening, stretching, bought FOUR different overpriced - gait analyzed pieces of junk shoes that honestly kept making it worst. I did a lot of barefoot training to fix my technique etc and realized I could go longer barefoot. So I said Id give it a legit try. I just dis my first, none walk-run, straight up only running 10 miles with these shoes. No pain. No aches. Nothing. Not only am I super proud of myself, Im super grateful for these shoes. Buy them. Seriously.

I previously have worn Merell barefoot shoes, but I didn't like the style of their latest offerings. These work better for me. Light weight, minimal, flexible, zero drop, optional insole, not ugly, comfortable. Would buy again.

These were a new experience backpacking in the trinity alps! Loved them! I could feel the ground. I wish you had the trail shoes in my size.

Absolutely love these shoes. Ive been wearing new balance minimus for the last 4 or 5 years but havent been able to find them easily anymore. After some research for a new shoe I stumbled upon xero and decided to give the HFS a shot. Im extremely happy with them. They were incredibly comfortable right out of the box and are a major upgrade to the minimus. Will be wearing these from now on. Thanks xero for making an amazing product.

I don't know what true to size means. I have shoes that are between 11 and 14. These are 13. There is no standard as with clothes and hats. I lucked out ordering the right size. These are great shoes, comfortable and no squishy plastic foam to stretch my metatarsal ligaments out of shape. My only concern is that there seems to be a shortage of these shoes, so I ordered a couple extras. Every time I find a shoe I like (e.g. the Saucony Jazz 3000) it gets discontinued. I hope Xero shoes stays in business. I need them.

I really love these Xero HFSs for weight lifting and kettlebelling. They are very bendy and good for lunges and Turkish get ups. I was using an old pair of vans before and this offers so much more mobility in the foot. They are zero-drop, obviously, and if you plan to walk in them you will want to slowly transition into them for that. They are perfect for what they’re made for.

Fits great and is much more supportive than my Merrell Trail Glove's ever were. The only thing I took off for was style, and that is due to the color of the shoes. They are listed as "pewter", but in daylight the shoes are a purplish hue and look a little feminine for my tastes. I'd rather they were more grey like the photos. They're so comfortable and light I'll wear them anyway.

Be specific about your likes and dislikes. How was the fit and size? What does the material feel like? How awesome (or not) do you feel wearing them?

Love Xero shoes, and the HFS is no exception. Lots of room for the toes, and just enough cushion to keep the sharp rocks from hurting my arch. About as minimal as you can get!

I was a little concerned because these are more barefoot than my previous shoes, and my lower legs and feet were a bit sore from having to work harder. But now they are stronger! I just ran a half marathon, mostly dirt road, very steep up and down, a little icy at the top, and these were great. I love how easy they are to lace up, and there's a nice heel cup. Also, plenty of room for my CorrectToes spacers.

This is my third pair. I dont even wear any of my other sneakers anymore. I absolutely love these. If you care about your health and longevity you must buy the shoe.

I absolutely love these shoes - I switched over from traditional running shoes to the HFS a few months ago. I think if you're going to make the switch to barefoot style running, these are the shoes. Plus I can wear them with jeans or even to work with dress pants and a button down shirt (I have the gray HFS). These are just the best shoes!

In my opinion, the ideal minimalist shoe should do three things only: protect your feet, hold up as well (or nearly) as normal shoes, and not change the way you run. I have owned and heavily used every kind of barefoot, minimalist, or natural shoe imaginable - FiveFingers, Lems, Altra, Merrell, VivoBarefoot, you name it - and these are literally the only shoes Ive ever worn that do all three. Oh, and it should look like a normal shoe, not have five separate toes or some other ridiculous looking feature that serves no purpose but to market to natural fanatics. I am a physical therapist who spent a lot of time studying gait and running mechanics, so I pay very particular attention to how my foot strikes when I run, and especially how a new shoe modifies my foot strike. All shoes protect my feet, very few minimalist shoes have the durability of normal shoes without adding weight or rigidity, and there are XERO minimalist shoes (see what I did there?) that allow my foot to strike the ground in the exact same way as it does when I run barefoot. I wore these shoes for one week then immediately bought a second pair. Now I wear them when Im on my feet all day at the hospital, I wear them on road runs, and I wear them on heavy lifting days and dynamic crossfit-style days. They are the best athletic shoe Ive ever owned, and perform equally well in any setting. Finally!

I love them. I kind of want to get a bunch of pairs in different colors. I particularly like how spread out my toes feel. Very comfortable and stylish.

It has taken a bit of getting used to. The shoes break in faster than the feet. BUT! Yesterday I did my longest walk since 2013! My feet hurt tired-wise, but not pain-wise. After years of searching out softer and cushier shoes, who'd have thought that the opposite is exactly what I needed! Thanks Xero Shoes. I'm not looking back!

No break in period very comfortable. I think I have arthritis in one of my big toes and my foot hurt after long walks not with these shoes. My feet feel energized and theres no pain in that toes after a 4 mile walk like with my other shoes.
Another bonus is I didnt have to fight to maintain good posture I just did!!
