We always buy Quiksilver spring suits for beach trips. Our son can’t wear the traditional mesh liner swim trunk due to sand rub on his legs, so these have always been the simple solution to that problem. Our son turned 8 this year, and finding this type of suit past size 7 is very difficult. He’s average height (51 in tall, 60 lbs) and build overall but with a very long torso. I took a chance on this one in size 7 since it’s made with a different material than previous years’ suits, hoping that it runs a little big. Zappos has great customer service, so I knew if it didn’t work, it would be an easy return. Not only does it fit my 8 year old, but he has several inches of length in it. The “thermo” is a very lightweight, fleece inner material that he describes as comfy/soft rather than hot. The neck also seems larger/not as restricting as last years’ model. I can see this working in different climates and water temperatures. Definitely recommend!

absolutely love this for my son & it’s true to size. it’s not too warm but he doesn’t get cold while playing on the beach. it keeps his skin safe from the sun and it’s super easy to take off and on. 10/10 recommend
