It provides the necessary protection. It's better then boots, more breathable. However, I did end up returning it because it was still just too heavy for my liking. I work long hours on my feet in different kind of settings. So really it's something you have to determine weight versus protection and how much you're willing to risk.

So I work at Amazon constantly on my feet for 40-60 hours a week. Usually I'm a size 9 or 9 1/2 men's athletic shoes but these didnt fit me that well at size 9. They were a bit loose and felt too heavy to walk 10+ hours a day in.

Nice shoe. The width even though I ordered a 4E was still close. Like the shoe but the composite toe area was still too narrow and as a result really hurt my toe. Returned this pair and going up a larger size.

The shoe was rather flat, no cushion. I was as actually surprised. NB is renowned for comfort. Oddly the support was also asymmetrical.

When standing on the cement floors for hours, they feel like you are walking on squares with no full support under your feet-need more cushion inside the shoe

Fit was identical to Reeboks that I wear. These are extremely uncomfortable due to the design of the safety toe. The edges flare inward causing to rub on great and pinky toe. I do not recommend for someone required to walk or stand for long periods of time.

Ordered my shoes size (women's 9) for this composite toe work shoe. Bad idea. When I tried them on out of the box, they fit. Unfortunately by the end of my long 10+ hours shift, I was in pain. This heavy shoe needs to be broken in before the work day. Even with the added insole it was very inflexible. It is such an attractive shoe I still recommend it. Always order a complete size larger than usual or the men's equivalent to get room at the toe. Order an insole for arch support. Two pairs of socks always helps for comfort as well

The shoes look great, they fit true to size however very uncomfortable. Wore them to work the day they arrived, ten hours later at the end of my shift I couldn't wait to get home to take them off. My feet were in pain for the next two days after wearing these shoes.

this was my second attempt to get a size that earlier NB sneakers fit well on me. Size 12 extra wide used to fit well.I have now tried size 12 extra wide and size 12 wide and my heel slips out of both. The actual length of the shoe seems the same as previous fits. I may try a medium D width,

Good enough. The tread picks up too much trash and they are heavy. Fairly comfortable and seem durable.

I work with electrical equipment, encounter slippy floors and carry motors, heavy parts and other things that would otherwise crush my toes. I've had a few sets of New Balance shoes and, for the most part, they are comfortable and serve their purpose (Fresh Foam running sneakers, cross trainers, running sneakers). This is the first time I've purchased their work shoes. Externally, I am impressed. It is a pretty shoe and a worthy not-ugly heavy work shoe. It is comfortable along the edges and top of the feet and also has a good toe box. Not too tight, room to wiggle. The problem is that there was absolutely no arch support. It was really bad such that my arches ached in less than an hour of work. I had to pull the inserts out of my old work shoes and put them into these for it to be acceptably comfortable. Overall, good looking sneaker, great for work with an insert.

The shoes look great, are lightweight and well built. That being said, the toe cup is too narrow for wide feet. If you order these, and you take a wider shoe, go up in size.

I purchased 4 different shoe, 2 sizes and 2 widths, still the safety toe pushed in on my big toe. All other parts of the shoe felt good, just couldn't get comfortable.

I can't wear shoes with toe caps. Other than the toe caps, the shoes fit well, and looked good.

Since I only buy your sneekers I tried your work sneekers with the composite toe (required for work) but I was a bit surprised that they did not come with the memory foam insoles(really)and the fact that my toes feel cramped when I put them on,almost like the thickness of the shell was not compensated for. I now need to look into yet another brand to find something I can work in comfortably.
