I wear these shoes everyday for work. There was never a break in period as they were comfortable from the start. They seam to be well made but have only had them for a few weeks. So far I love them.

These shoes came with no insoles in them. I added some insole from another pit of shoes and they are bearable for a secondary pair of shoes for work. I am on concrete and pavement for 8 hours a day and feet are usually hurting before I get off work. Will not be going back for more.

I'm a postal worker so the toe protects my feet from falling boxes, etc. But comfortable enough to do 15 miles walking/day in

I use them pretty much exclusively for work shoes. They are industrial friendly & at the same time very comfortable. Can't say I have any negative comments about them.

DO NOT BUY THESE SHOES!!! For starters, I think they run a full size too small. Even once I exchanged them for a larger, more perfect fit, they were still VERY uncomfortable! No insole will make these shoes any more comfortable. They may look nice, but they are stiff and a little clunky. My third exchange will be for a different brand.

I tried the shoe for a day and discovered that the back of the shoe tilts to far inward and causes friction above the heel.

Very comfortable on day 1!! I have wide feet and these shoes gave me room to move around.insoles are some what hard after the second day of use but I have no problem replacing them with a different kind. They are not that heavy and feel solid. I would recommend.

These shoes do not break in. They still kill my feet after wearing them for weeks 12 hours a day.

I'm on my feet and moving 10 hrs a day. Have worn these shoes 3 times since they arrived. Could not wait to take them off. They are heavy. They run large in toe and heel. My feet slide around in them all day. A very expensive mistake. Take a pass on these

I work in a distribution center, walking, moving boxes and pallets, operating power equipment. The shoe is light, fits well, and it is very comfortable and so far it has been durable. It has a composite toe. The 589 is much better than the 627. The 627 was clunky and heavy and the glue on the soles let loose in just a few weeks. If you want something for work, go with the 589. Very nice shoe, I hope they don't discontinue it or change it.

Like all shoes, they need new insoles. Other than that, probably the best work shoes I’ve owned working for Amazon.

I wear my boots 10 hours a day. I can say they are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I wish I discovered them long ago.

Much lighter than many alternatives. They held up ok, just OK. Treadwear is great, traction is good on flat and semi smooth surfaces, would not recommend for hiking. All but 1 N have come off. Stitching around toe cap is starting to go. And glue between sole and shoe starting to go around the toe. Overall for the price it's a deal. For reference, most work boots last me 1-1.5 years max I wear them every day year round for work average about 8k steps per day.

I really like the Zappos company, and the customer service is top-notch. But, this is my 2nd pair of shoes—-and they are not comfortable at all. I had added insoles / support, doesn’t help. I can only wear them for a couple hours at a time.

This is my fourth pair of 589's and for whatever reason the toes are tight in one of the shoes and making them unbearable to wear.

Never actually wore them really because they were too small and I felt I had no room to put insoles in them, should've returned them but didn't feel like it because they were free Probably need to order at least a full size up

Didn't have my size, so I went a size larger! Glad I did! These are the absolute most comfortable steel toes (Yeah, I know they are composite.) shoes I have ever had! I like to wear heavy socks, these are so comfortable I can't believe it!

Use the product around house for work. The toe in this shoe is like steel.....very strong. Measured foot accurately with NB downloadable foot measure for width as there will never be any give...and it was true to chart. The shoe has no give in the toe box...no breaking in, so make sure you get proper size and width.

In searching for new safety shoes, I bought these along with a pair of model 412s. I tried a total of 7 different sizes and styles to hone in on the one I wanted. I kept 2 pairs. I kept the 589 model as a more robust shoe alongside the more casual 412 model. They are about as comfortable as the 412 model but when working outside, the structure of the upper gives a greater feeling of keeping my foot secure. Depending on the shoe style, I wear a size 9 or 10 2E. With these, I opted for the 4E to ensure a nice roomy toe box the alloy toe is wide to match. (This is not true of the 627v2 model. Its toe box is more tapered.)
