I am 5'3" 145lbs and I have thicker hips and thighs. I really wanted a Fjallraven coat but could not justify the price as I have many coats I am not willing to part with. This Columbia coat seems to be very good quality and also very warm. I am normally a small in coats sometimes I have to size up to a medium because of the coat being too snug around my rear. I was unsure which size to get in this so I got the small. It fit but it was snug around my rear, too constricting for a coat at this price. So I went through the hassle of returning and ordering a medium. I received the medium today and I was a little surprised at how there is not much of a difference between the small and medium. I anticipated that I would have quite a bit more room in my hips area but it was only slightly more room. Definitely less constricting but enough ti make me wonder if I should try the large. I decided to keep the medium as it is roomy at the top half of the coat, I can fit a sweater or a sweatshirt, and I feel the large would be much too roomy up top for me. I also would be concerned about the sleeves being too long. Overall, it is figure flattering and the quality is amazing. I got the green and it is just as pictured. If you are slender all the way from top to bottom, get your normal size, otherwise I agree with the recommendation to size up.

The jacket was very warm, LOVED the color, but unfortunately it was slightly too small in the chest, so I returned for a different size. I ordered the XXL, which was a bit tight, opted for the Plus 2x instead.

This is undoubtedly a warm parka. The materials are very high quality. However, it was a bit too bulky for me even though the size was right.

I like the coat overall but it is a bit small. Not sure I'll be able to wear it.

Is it a very warm coat? Yes. Quality is good as always. However, I'm 5'9 ish and the neck comes up too high. It's up to my chin which rubs against it when I wear it. I could zip it down but that would defeat the purpose of the coat. I honestly think the only way to wear it comfortably is if i put a scarf on underneath to prevent it from scratching against my chin. The pockets aren't super functional because of the placement and lack of zippers. Hand warmers made kind of cheap surprisingly. The material is thin and doesn't seem like it'll last long. You can tell by the stitching. I wish I could return it because I just bought it but I was too quick to throw away the tags so I'm not sure if I can still return or not!! Would probably get a different coat to be honest.

I should have ordered my normal size. I usually wear medium, but ordered large. It was oversized. For reference, I'm 5'7" 150 lbs

Runs big, got an xs, im 5.0, 112 pounds. I'm small

Overall: I have a 10 minute walk to/from the bus stop with a 10+ minute wait and this coat has kept me warm in 30 degree weather. Besides the right arm up to my elbow (maybe a manufacturing flaw?) I do not feel the cold. I will say that you need to wear a high necked shirt or scarf underneath because the wind will come for your neck even with the hood up. Not the most flattering coat, but so far (I'm waiting for colder weather), it does its job. Biggest Con: The side pockets are terrible! Do not put anything in these besides your hands or it will fall out. The pockets desperately need zippers. Size: I ordered a small, even though my measurements indicated to buy a medium, as my last Columbia coat was a small and fit well. I'm 5'4", 130 lbs, and have a 32" waist and I can comfortably wear a sweatshirt under this coat.

Runs true to size. I read other reviews and sized up. It was too large. There are drawstrings on the inside which I could make smaller to give me a waist from behind, but the front looked frumpy. I can tell the coat was very warm just from wearing it around the house for a few minutes. I would describe it as not sparking joy for me. My previous coat, that I had outgrown was a Canada Goose. The features on CG such as a bendable fur trim (via an internal wire) and soft padded lining of pockets were lacking in this coat. However, at one-third of the price, it is understandable that costs had to be trimmed. I ended up investing in a CG in a larger size, which now brings me joy. For the price point, this is a reasonable coat.

I just bought this coat in a large because of the suggestion on the website. It is enormous! I wish I would have bought size M because now they are sold out! I'm so disappointed. However, the coat is super warm and cozy! The fur on the hood is obnoxious, it is too thick and hangs down too low, not great quality. Overall, this is great coat and very warm! Just buy your normal size.

The neck is way too wide when zipped up it has a huge space. Otherwise it's a good jacket

beautiful coat and high quality, but the hood is too small and short. when up it pulled the back of the coat up and was tight on top of head. fur a little cheap looking. would have loved to keep this coat, but the weird, too-small hood was a deal breaker for me.

This would be a wonderful coat if they hadn't ruined it with the poorest quality faux fur possible. It looks cheap, and is matted on both of the coats I purchased, it looks frizzy and almost burnt. No amount of fluffing will help its appearance. Very disappointing as I would have loved this coat otherwise.

Ordered a medium and it seemed a bit snug, especially with a sweater or sweat shirt underneath. Returned and ordered a large. Too big, even with sweater or sweat shirt underneath.

Awesome parka but the zipper is terrible. It is the perfect length and extremely cozy. The zipper is very cheap, sticky, and overall terrible. I'm Keeping the coat but may have the zipper replaced

Pros - The big pockets are great for dog walks Good length Big enough to layer underneath Cons- Not as warm as expected. I'd never use it in the snow! The zipper is terrible. It often unzips near the bottom and starts opening on its own. For the price I'd expect better. Even though it's waterproof, the wrist area can take forever to dry when caught in a downpour, so have other jackets on hand or you'll be going out into the cold with wet wrists.

Great Black Friday deal but returning. The shoulder and chest was too roomy for me and side pocket is awkward. The length is good and the Coral color is nice. I really wanted to like this jacket.

Zipper broke on first zip! Not cool. Columbia seems to really cut corners in the zipper department. I also bought another jacket in the same order, and could not get the zipper to work smoothly. For big parkas, you really need a quality zipper, not something plastic that easily goes off its track. Not cool, Columbia! Super bummed. :(

It supposed to run small so I bought a bigger size and it was too big. It fits to the size it says

Petites beware. I got the XS and it fits like a Med or a Large. I am 5'2 115lbs and I wear a 34C bra. With a sweater underneath there was a huge gap in the front. Everything else is beautiful though from the color to the fur.

Never again will I buy anything from this company again this coat is not warm at all. And it's very thin

I wouldn't recommend this jacket. The quality is not as expected.

Too tight in the hip area. Plastic zipper doesn't feel too rugged.
