A little hard to get on, and they are to rigid of a boot for me.

Bought these to replace my beloved arrowood rivas. Alas, while the fit is the same and they look to be the same blend of lightness and support, having fully closed loops up top mean they're way too difficult to get in and out of. Really bummed as I wanted to like them, but man what a poor product decision

These are described as composite toe boots. These are NOT composite toe or any other kind of safety toe boots

I was a huge fan of the arrowwoods Teva used to make up until they changed the design or materials a few years ago and they became very uncomfortable. I was hoping the Riva was a course correction back to the tried and true design.
Pros:. Lightweight, seems sturdy, doesn't hurt my feet like the Arrowwoods started to do
Cons: fixed lace loops all the way instead of open lace catches at the top makes it more difficult to get the boot on and off. While the footbed is the same length as other 10.5 boots/shoes I have, they feel a little too much room and I have to cinch the laces down really tight around the ankles to keep my heel somewhat in place. Because the footbed is the right length, imagine a size 10 would be too small. Also, saw questionable gluing between the rubber and leather out of the box, so we'll see about long term durability.
They "work" but I'm not excited about them like the Arrowwoods of a few years ago that were simply amazing, best lightweight boot ever. Maybe they need more break in time but after 100 miles not sure.

I returned these boots after trying to put them on my feet. The attached tongue combined with the lacing system makes it impossible to put the shoe on without unlacing at least half the boot. Perhaps a lacing system that does not use a closed grommet would allow the foot to slip into the boot behind the connected tongue.

I bought these for my husband and on his first west the back fabric completely tore when trying to even put the boots on. Extremely disappointed ):
