Coming from about 15 years straight wearing Red Wing heritage chukkas and resoling them multiple times. I was looking for something substantially similar but that would offer a better fit and comfort level for the shape of my 58-year-old foot! Ordered these in the mail and hoped for the best. They came today. The leather is nice... not Red Wing but plenty good enough. Construction seems solid, and for me, removing the footbeds they came with and replacing with some that are a little flatter turned into an extraordinary level of comfort and room in the toe box. I am really happy now and just hope that they last and continue to look good as they get worn, scuffed, scraped, etc. like a light work boot will. Thanks Ariat!

I bought a pair of Ariat boots for my son for Christmas. He was so impressed with their look and comfort, I had to have a pair of my own. These are some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. No break in time needed. I was a little concerned at first with how scuffed they were getting soon after wearing them for the first time, but as I wore them more they got more "distressed looking". I have gotten lots of comments on their looks. Very impressive!

These are another winner. It seems as I can't miss with these boots and the other shoes I have bought recently for my husband. He loves every pair I have bought him. Thanks Ariat.

I wanted a pair of casual shoes to wear with jeans. I wanted them for everyday wear. I'm a retiree and didn't want heavy clunky boots but still wanted durability. I ordered the Recon Country Boot and so far, I have been very happy with my choice. The Toasty Tan color was actually a little darker than displayed on the website which was fine with me. The boots looked better in hand than on the website. I normally wear a size 12 medium width (D), but in some brands (such as Merrill) I need to order a size up. I ordered a size 12 and they fit me well so I would classify them as "True to size". The Recon Country boots are comfortable right out of the box. You do get that "new shoe feel", but not as though they need to be broken in. I would absolutely purchase these shoes again and am also considering a pair of the Ariat Spitfire hiking shoes in a different color.

Perfect fit. I am glad I went with the wife option (12 EE). I typically wear a 12 but not usually a wide. So I would say they might run a little narrow. They are super comfortable right out of the box
