Just relocated from CA to MI and needed a new pair of hi-tops. These are perfect for the winter out here, so far. Wear them casually while out picking up supplies or out riding in the RZR in the snow and ice. Very warm and super comfortable, no complaints. Great sole for this area. Very satisfied!!

Perfect shoe for the changing weather. Your feet will stay warm, dry and stylish. If you are on the fence about buying do yourself a favor and get these. You won't be disappointed.

First pair of winter Vans since merge w Northface (I've had the old faux fur lined style in the past). Wow. What a difference. Bring on the snow!

These are awesome shoes! I've been a loyal vans guy since the early 80's. Now I have some nice vans to wear in the winter and snow.the tread has nice grip, and the insulation is perfect for a light hike.

I live in a mountain valley, the temperature is all over the place. These are so comfortable, warm without feeling sweaty. Thin socks and thick socks feel great. Great for cold weather bike commuting. Feels like a boot with the versatility of classic Vans. Will definitely buy again when the time comes.

The worst part of buying these shoes is that you're going to want three more pairs! They are super comfy and super light! Well worth the price. I don't want to take them off!

I bought these at the beginning of the year when we were getting another ice storm. I needed a pair of boots that could keep me warm and dry, and also safe on the ice while working a 24hr shift as a Paramedic. I can wash the truck and get soaked, and still have dry socks. I can climb down a muddy ditch to get to a patient that rolled their car and not slip. I can wear them for 24hrs and still be comfy. The best part is when another responder sees them and says "wait, are you wearing Vans?!". Yep. Sure am. Better than any of those ridiculous and overpriced tacticool boots that some of my coworkers wear. This is my third pair of MTE shoes, and I will definitely be buying more.

I DJ outside a lot & towards the end of football season the MTE are perfect for games that are cold and/or wet! It can get into the 30s during night games but my feet never know it. The MTE's are just as comfortable as any other pair of Vans!!!

They seem comfortably warm for the 40f wet weather I tested them in so far. I probably should have ordered a half size larger than normal so that I could wear thicker socks but, otherwise they fit well. They look great! I do wish the shoestrings we're about four inches longer. But there is just enough there to use the top holes and still tie them.

If you had told me in 1978 that I would one day spend $150 on a pair of Vans…six year old me would have laughed at you. Wore them for a million years but gave up on them at about 45 because they just hurt. Hadn’t worn Sk8 hi since I was about 16 because I got sick of grip tape destroying them.
But here I am at fifty with a raging case of plantar fasciitis and I have tried inserts in my Docs, orthopedic shoes (that was a blow…its ok, laugh), basically everything until I remembered that my old Sk8 Hi shoes did what I needed them to do now, clamp my heel down and not let it slide at all. Bought a pair and threw some orthotics in them (I cannot believe I just typed that) and BAM! They work. Thank god- pain free days.
So my fashionable heel boot (these shoes) os working well and then it rains…ugh. I have to greet 300 kids every morning, and send them home every afternoon. I tried my rain boots…nope. Took a flyer on these and they work just as well- with some added bonuses over my regular Sk8 Hi’s.
They have deeper soles! And Traction!
They kept my feet dry!
My feet were warm! Almost too warm in the afternoon, but so nice in the morning!
My kids (I teach 4th-8th grade science) said I was way leas of a grump!
Anyway- these are not what you think they are I suspect. They are sturdy and overbuilt, the have a contoured insole (just not contoured enough for me), they are waterproof (confirmed!) and warm. And they look good. Think hiking boot that is not ugly and brown. They paid for themselves day one and I am glad I bought them. They are going to be my best friends this winter while my rain boots sit and think about what they did to feet.
