I had to return the first pair I got because the sole one left boot wouldn't stick to the shoe. Every time I stepped I could hear and feel the sole come apart. Sounded like ripping a sicker off something and resticking it. I Ordered another pair and had the same issue with the left boot but not as bad. I'm not sure if Vans makes their boots like Twix does and has a left and right factory but they need to tel the left shoe factory they have a glue problem.

I give these shoes a 4 star because the shoes are amazing and would be almost perfect but the quality of the glue used or maybe lack of proper molding the construction of the shes had made it unwearable and I bought these shoes to wear during the winter. It's 100% Waterproof even when the shoes are falling apart still dry feet. Styling is great but the construction of these shoes is really bad I have never purchased a Van the front of the bottom of the shoes just completely flops off the first month. It's sad I can not wear these shoes any longer.

Great looking boot. Comfortable. Fits well. I'm a size 6 in all Vans, these fit the same. Was hoping they'd keep my feet warm in wet or light snow, unfortunately, first use that was not the case. Despite being the highest rated MTE shoe with Goretex, cannot say I am surprised. If you want a good winter boot, buy a specializing brand. If you want the Vans style this is a good option.

The fit is nice, and they're warm. My only issue is that the toe cap has a strong rubber smell, and after 2 months it's not going away.

The shoe is warm and kept my feet dry in snow, dont step on ice and it wont slip anywhere. The shoe does have quality issues. parts are coming unglued or separating either on the first wear or within a couple of days.
This to me is nowhere near the quality of what vans and the MTE line used to be. i still have a pair of MTE 2 from 3 years ago that havent ripped or came unglued. At least they look good.

These shoes are awesome feeling but sadly I've only worn them a grand total of 4 times and the rubber has already pulled away from the shoe. I don't go hiking nor do I go out and do anything extreme in these. For the amount I spent on them I would expect better durability.

I ordered these boot's online, i really liked the design and looked really cool in person , as soon as I tried them on and started walking on them my right shoe kept making a popping sound, it felt like the inside of the insole was not attached correctly, so I returned that pair and ordered again. Same thing happened again so just dealt with it and the sound went away after like two months. The glue started coming off after a few hiking trips and I sometimes would take them to work , but after 3 months they have not lasted me at all . They are very comfortable though and very good grip.

Ive owned my pair for about 3 months now and they are the one most comfortable boots I've owned. I wear them almost everyday hiking, work, and just casual. Only complaint I have is on the quality of the boot. My right boot is beginning to tear where the toes bend.

My husband and I both bought these last month. Literally the most comfortable and warm winter boots living in the mtns with snow, ice, rain, mud and cold. Unfortunately both of our shoes are falling apart. They started making a sticky squeaking sound when we woukd walk, come to find out the sole is detaching from the shoe and delaming on both sides. So very disappointing and sad for shoes to cost so much and not even lart a month

These fell apart within 5 months of daily wear. Despite the GORTEX tags and advertising their "waterproof" abilities, these are anything but. If you are looking for a legit outdoor shoe, look elsewhere. If you just want to look cool and walk around town look the part, these are for you. Fit was ok but returned for warranty replacement. Sadly, my replacements fell apart quicker with eyelets separating and the weld from the upper and lower coming unglued. Vans, stick to skate shoes and snowboard boots. Leave outdoor footwear to the real pros.

Within about a month of ownership, they leaked water horribly. The sole also had trouble staying together. More for looks than practicality.

Owned these for about 2 weeks. Done nothing but walk around town in a bit of rain, snow and mud. Nothing even off the pavement. Already coming apart.

These shoes are super cute, comfortable and warm. However after just one week, the sole started to separate from the fabric and itself. I use the boots only for a walk around town on my vacations in Canada, I live in Chile and I bought them especially for the trip. Wish they were better especially for the high price ;( I never had a problem with my vans and I have quite a few. Super sad !!! Can you please Vans guys help me????

Got these in December after Black Friday and have loved them. Comfortable, watertight and stylish.
Unfortunately, they didn't last more than 3 months. They are falling apart in multiple places and I've had to glue them back together more than once.

These boots are very cute and warm. However after one use, the sole started to separate from the fabric. I didn't use the boots for anything intense, just a walk around town. Wish they were more durable especially for the price point. Not sure if it's a common issue or if mine were a fluke but customer service wasnt very helpful. For the price, you'd be better off going with a higher name brand outdoors company.

I had the Chipmunk/Marshmallow MTE-2 Sk8-Hi's and I loved the way they looked. When I got those I noticed one of the eyelets had dislodged and this was straight out of the box. So I drove 2 hours away to a store that had them in stock and tried on another two pairs. I wasn't happy with the fit so an employee suggested these for me. These fit better and were their last pair. I decided t take a chance and get them but now I'm regretting it. One of the eyelets is already dislocating and I've only worn them two days. For a supposed high end product that they're marketing as a boot that can stand up to the elements it doesn't even seem to handle lacing well before tearing up. I've also noticed that the "tub" that is the encapsulation layer for the weather/waterproofing seems a little messed up on my left foot. It seems to rub and grind into the side of my foot but maybe that would go away with some break in but I don't know for sure.
What annoys me is the eyelets on these failing so easily. Especially on two brand new sets of MTE's. I'll be returning these soon more than likely.

I bought these for an upcoming trip to Tokyo. I knew I'd be doing a lot of walking and exploring in cold conditions, and these seemed like the perfect shoe for the trip. I purchased them on 11/10, they arrived on 11/14 and I'm writing this review because I've also had the sole separate from the shoe 7 weeks in. I'm so disappointed.

The shoes seem so so quality. They look great but I'm concerned with the quality. And my god, the on trac shipping is terrible. I won't be buying online in the future because of the terrible ontrac shipping. And as for the shoes, I don't see what almost $200 bought me. Seems like vans quality and standards have gone down the drain. I've been wearing vans for almost 20 years and they aren't like they used to be and it's sad.

Two weeks into owning the shoe, the outsole began to delaminate from the center causing the shoe to squeak at every step.

I've had the shoes for 7 months and have worn them between 35 and 45 days at most. The first thing I noticed is the sole. The tread is great but as i've seen with most Vans I've purchased over the past 10 years, the rubber toe cap is separating from the shoe. I would say the situations and applications I've used the shoes for have been far less and below what the shoes are advertised to withstand. The rubber is separating at the toe and the outside of the shoe. The gap gets rocks and sand wedged into it and it only continues to get worse. Maybe they weren't glued properly?
In addition to the poor quality, after working in a sandy area, the shoes have somehow taken in sand INSIDE the lining of the shoe! I've tried removing the sole insert to figure out how sand is getting in and being kept in but I can't. Now, when I put the shoe on I have to knock the shoe several times to get the sand that now lives inside and is a part of the shoe into a spot where it won't completely annoy and irritate my foot or toes. It's happened on both shoes. The shoe is a tank of a shoe but I'm just so irritated to pay so much money for a shoe that is pretty much unusable now, and I'm also bummed that the quality of Vans appears to be going downhill. The soles on AVEs, after non regular use are coming unglued as well. The soles themselves are in great shape but the rubber is just separating from the shoe. Anyway, buy real boots. I love Vans.. I skate and have worn Vans for the past 30 years but I guess they're not what they used to be.

I haven't worn these but 3 times outside and they are starting to make a popping noise like in the reviews. My friend bought a pair as well and hers are delaminating from the sole. I'm super disappointed as I bought the same shoe in black last year and they are fantastic. I hope I can return them. So dissatisfied and disappointed Vans!!

I am so disappointed in these boots. They are rated for warmth in snow, but they do not keep my feet warm. Even in just cold weather without snow my toes get cold to the point of pain. They are really heavy, so not something to wear to walk any distance. They do look good, as I get compliments on the look of them and they do grip well. But at the price I paid I expected them to at least keep my feet warm. These are on the same warmth level as the original MTE1 pair I got years ago. Just cost twice as much.

If you're just looking for boot to get you to and from the car in the winter, these are great. Anything farther and you'll end up with cold toes.
