As usual, these Salomons are comfortable from the first wear. They fit comfortably and provide great ankle support that helps the knees to remain stable throughout long mileage hikes. Fit as expected.

First of all. I`m talking about the Low model of the same shoe, because, I can`t fint the Mid on the website. This shoes guys is definetly for the medium difficulty hikes only. If you are going to kick some rocks and climb somewhere you need something more solid with the hard midsole (Crosshike or X Ultra). But for the flat summer hike with mud and water under your feet it`ll be fine. GORE TEX works perfectly well same as always that`s why it`s not a question. So I`ve been on the Gros Morne Mointain loop (~18 km hike with 900 m elevation) in these ones (lows) and I had the next issues: laces are constantly undited. Thanks to my sports experince, I know how to deal with that. And the main issue that acutally spoiled the whole trip is that the insole slid off backwards every 30 minutes and I got the callus on my toe so that`s a definetely a quality issue. I was really frustrated.

I've been wearing these boots for about 3 weeks now. They took some breaking in but comfortable now. Disappointed they are not fully waterproof, feet were wet after walking through long grass. My waterproof boot spray has helped with this but would have thought for the price they would have been fully waterproofed on purchase. This is my last chance using Salomon as all other boots have split, if these do the same then I'll be changing supplier.

I have been buying Salomon for years but the tongue fits weird and the laces do not stay tied up easily. Really not a pleasant purchase

Cut wide and slightly small. In addition to the odd fit, it feels like they’re missed an eye loop. There’s a big gap by the tongue. They look better in the photo than in person.

I got these back in September and am still trying to enjoy them. Salamon is usually what I like to hike in. These are awkward in the top of shoe, they rub on my ankle no matter what I wear sock wise. The BIGGEST annoyance is the shoe laces. They will not stay tied! I need to find replacements and keep at it w them, they're great on snow and slick streets so I keep wearing them! Hoping they get beat down a bit.
I'd also recommend:
Salamon Brooks

Thank goodness they were bought for me and I didn't purchase them!! The laces are just woeful and no matter if you put a double knot they still come undone or up over the pointless tongue design......My feet have been wet in all walks I have done in these boots and walking through the grass with my dog shouldn't allow the wet inside my boot....I know boots are never 100% waterproof but....... The look of the boot is awesome and the fit it's just the minor details!! Laces and the tongue...... Having hiked for many years it's back to Keen boots/scarpa for me.......

Just ok - not worth the price - have worn 3 times for light hikes (which is why I purchased) - the laces are awful even double knotted they slip undone and don't stay tied. Also the tongue kinda bulges out and doesn't lay inside the shoe enough (like other ankle hikers I have) lastly, I feel like the ankle/foot support is not great, I have twisted (slightly) my ankle couple times in these, they just seem loose in the foot part, and I have wider feet and my toe comes to the end, so the length and width is fine, my feet just seem "loose" in these boot. Overall not my best hikers but will keep wearing and see if I can solve the lace problem- I do like the color and design. (Fashion over function Lol)

So I’m giving these 3 stars overall because I feel like they’re just ‘meh’. I have an old pair of Ahnu that I didn’t buy with hiking in mind. I wanted to get something that felt better to actually put miles on. These feel just as stiff and ‘meh’ as my Ahnu boots so I couldn’t justify buying these. I keep hearing rave reviews on Salomon so I’m not giving up but the color and style just didn’t wow me. For me, these are at the top end of my budget, so I had to return and wait to try a new waterproof style in my size. I’m sure the stiffness will relax with wear. Sizing is true. It just felt weird around my ankle joint. I’m new to trying hiking boots so keep that context in mind lol I don’t know why ‘minimal’ arch support isn’t a choice. These barely have any but it’s there. Wish me luck on my quest for the winning waterproof hiking boot for my big narrow foot ?

The boot top hits right at the ankle bone causing discomfort there and with very little padding on the tongue, seems that this would be an uncomfortable boot. I've had three previous pairs of salomon ankle hiking boots that have fit superbly and was hoping to recreate that fit.

not fit well as usual, I bought my size but was far smaller and not fit comfortable after a 3500 steps street walking test, so I have to return that one and bought half size larger, but still not feel fit, not a reliable hiking shoes at all. I use to wear Salomon all my life but their quality and shoe material are no longer reliable, so sad.

Good looking shoes, comfortable, good grip but the color on the inside soles is worn off only after a month of use. The lace hooks cause cuts too. Shoe laces won't stay tied. They should use different material. Overall good shoe but they should fix the issues, I'm sure I won't be the only one.

I love everything about this shoes, but the front is stiff and hurt my pinky toes. It was swollen so bad after an 8 mile hike. I've GTX Vaya, and had tried Outline before. This shoes is great because it's waterproof and got cleaned easily even in a muddy trail. However, the front side is stiff and the arch is flat. I wish it has the same type of insole as my Predic Soc W running shoes. It does keep tiny rocks out off my shoes unlike my Vaya. The shoe lace kind of stiff, so make sure to double knot it. I usually wear 7.5, but all my Salomon i purchased has been consistent in size 7.

I wore these to go on a ski trip because I knew I was going to walk in snow. What happened was: as I came out of the elevator at an airport, the hook of the right shoe caught the shoelace of the left shoe and 60lbs of gear fell on me after I fell face first on the concrete, hit my head had a mild concussion and bruised my wrist, elbow, knee, shoulder, hip, and cracked a part of the bracelet I had on my right arm. These shoes are dangerous and Salomon you really need to do something about it. My partner has them too and he has tripped on them so many times but not as bad as I did. My head and knee still hurt after 3 weeks. Also shoelaces are horrible, I swapped them to the ones I wasn't using from other shoes. This "tripping" was happening even before I swapped the bad shoelaces. Don't get these shoes!!

The Salomon GTX shoes quality has gone down from what it used to be. This shoes was very uncomfortable and it gave me blisters because it's kind of stiff. The customer service contacted me and asked me to sent back my shoes for inspection, which I did. They sent me a voucher, so I ordered the same pair and it still gives me same issues. I got blisters, and this pair can't keep tiny rocks out no matter how tight I tie my shoe laces. You also need to double knotted it or it untie very easily. I have 4 pairs of Salomon, but I guess it's time to look for a different brand because it definitely not worth it paying this price for a poor quality like this.
