Hiking.

I use these for my regular hiking, and I've tried for years to find other socks than smart wool and save a little money, but I end up wasting money because I get socks that don't work with synthetic materials in them and I end up throwing them away because they are not comfortable for real hiking. This particular model is absolutely perfect with my hiking boots and I just did a 4 mile hike wearing them yesterday and I didn't have to think about my feet at all which is the point!

I love these soft, non-itchy wool socks, easy to care for socks. They are the only socks that keep my elderly feet warm in the winter. After 8 years of wear and tear I finally had to start sewing up holes until I saw the added cushion material you can specify just where year want it! Am always glad when they go on sale!

I gifted a pair of womens zig zag crew socks with cushioning toe to heel to a friend who has painful walking due to a foot problem. She loves them and wears them every day, washing them by hand every night. She says they're so comfortable and help her painful feet. I plan to gift her more pairs.

Provides just the right amt of thickness without getting sweating when walking my daughter's dog. Feels supportive where I need it, in the arch, around heels and toes have room to wiggle.

Smartwool socks are my go to socks. Warm, colorful and fun. The only complaint is that the sizing can be inconsistent. Every now and then a pair will not stay on the heel.
