Light, right size, the shoe laces are bulky, it is comfortable, I was in the 0 F with a wool socks, no cold, good in hicking.

Have yet to experience cold Canadian winter yet thanks to El Nio, however they are a comfortable fit like all my Salomon shoes are. One thing Salomon does need to address is the winter outsole design (and material?). I've already noticed what others have complained about, they aren't the best on slippery or icey surfaces. Salomon can do better.

I bought these boots! I love the design. Just need to change the size.

Fit: 5/5 An athletic day hiker with a stiff sole like a hiking boot. Heel moves freely so they're athletic, but good lateral support to avoid sprains. Very comfortable. Warmth: 5/5 Very warm if you're moving around. I've only had these down to about -10 Celsius since I got them, but my feet were still hot - not warm, but hot. (Note I normally have warm feet.) Waterproof: 5/5. They're definitely waterproof! Snow Grip: 4/5. Pretty good in the snow. Ice Grip: 2.5/5 These are the weakness. I've had worse boots, but these could be better on ice. They slip mostly when you're releasing/powering out of your step. Salomon needs to use a specific, tested ice grip on these in my opinion. Overall: 4/5 They're great for winter walks in snowy streets, and athletic hikes on trails. I wouldn't recommend these if you're older and need a complete non-slip boot. And if you want something with your heel completely locked-in, then get the Salomon Quest boots.

These shoes are great on keeping my feet warm, but the outsoles aren't grippy in the snow or ice. Yesterday it snowed about a foot of snow and I was walking down the hill from my home to work and I almost slipped and fell. Luckily I have a good balance and I only slide. It happened again later in the evening when I was clearing snow of my driveway. I bought this shoe for two main reasons, its marketed as grippy outsoles and warm insulation. Insulation works great but at this point the outsoles are more important to me. I am very disappointed the outsoles don't perform as it is marketed to do so. They definitely do not offer stability, grip and protection on wintry terrain.

These walking boots look great, but unfortunately the design is inadequate. The boot is comfortable from toe to ankle, but the soft thinsulate heel offers no support whatsoever. I've only worn mine 4 times and they already rub and cause blisters. Salomon refuse to offer any advice or a refund which is frustrating but understandable because they have been used.

Top eyelet broke off after 1 tying of laces - photo attached. What garbage has Salomon turned into? I have a pair of their Men's X Ultra Mid Winter Climasalomon Waterproof Hiking Boots Snow (which are discontinued), and they're bombproof and still going strong 5 years later.

The first day I wore them in snow and my toes did not stay dry.
