Incredibly thick and well made. Since they have a high wool %, it wicks sweat well and keeps the feet dry, even in heat. Used on long walks and hikes.

Size 12 foot here and I bought a size down on these. Why? Tried on son's Medium and liked the support. The thickness in a large made them a challenge to get in a boot. Why the best? They are tremendously comfortable, tremendously well-made, and tremendously durable. They stay up on your leg. They protect your feet. They proudly declare their worth: this is what good socks do! You can wear these as "house socks/slippers". They are just that comfortable and well-constructed. Inside a boot or trail shoe even the mediums on my 12 foot in a 12 shoot are a bit of a wedge but they remain as comfortable as ever and provide complete protection against blisters. The wool quality and content keeps them from any odors or issues as well and they never get too hot on my feet. I've been buying socks like these for decades and you can't get the kind of 'look' maybe your are after in a good wool sock like this. They look as they do. So maybe that's the only negative, but once you embrace that they are the best you realize that's what the best looks like. No regrets, this is the sock for camping, hiking, banging around the house. You will fall in love as we, my son and I, have.

Great fit and thickness. Just what I wanted.

I wear these all year round. The only time I don't have them on is when I am in the shower. I got them when i was back packing in the summer and working nights at a ski lift in winter. I have darned the older ones and just decided I could use some new ones. Some I have are probably 20 years old and they are still warm and comfy!

I absolutely LOVE these socks. I got my first pair probably 20 years ago for wearing with hiking boots when we would go hiking in CO. This pair I bought for wearing outside in the un-Godly cold we've had this Winter. They are so warm & cushy!

I have been using these socks for years now. I am outside quite often & these socks are the only ones that have consistantlty kept my feet warm & do not cause them to sweat. I have recently been placed on blood thinners & experience cold feet more often but these socks have alleviated this issue.
