These were my first smartwool clothing purchase. I had worn the socks for a few years and liked the quality, comfort and brand.
These pants are amazing. Comfort and quality has held up after one year ( and worn thru four seasons in PA). I am 6'2" 185 and kinda slim. These are not tight and I might have sized down to a medium for a snugger fit.
Would purchase again and would love option of different colors.
My recommendation is a reverse cinch drawstring similar to running shorts instead of the regular cinch (kinda like a hoodie drawstring). But that might just be personal preference.
Purchased at Public Lands and went back for a few more Smartwool purchases (base layer shirt and a jacket - also top notch).

Love these sweats for backpacking. Fairly lightweight, the protected outer lining, and warmth. Recommend 10/10. #sweepstakes

I use these for backcountry skiing and they are light, but warm, and soft and comfortable.

First time out with these pants was a super windy and cold day. I was highly impressed with the warmth and wind blocking abilities. I have some Smartwool socks and they are just as good too.

This is my go to piece for cold weather skate skiing and running, usually for under 20F degrees. I have a LOT of running and skiing tights, These are the best, nice wind block material in the front, warm wool fleece on the inside. yet light enough for getting in some serious miles . Very durable and comfortable. You will not regret having a pair of these in real winter weather.

I use these under fishing waders and backcountry skiing. I tried on both the MEN'S INTRAKNIT THERMAL MAX MERINO BASE LAYER BOTTOM and the MEN'S MERINO SPORT FLEECE PANT. I went with Sport Fleece Pant because of the fit (athletic), pockets (it has them) and the extra windproof layer on the upper thigh. These could easily be my everyday pants! Wish they came in more colors.

A great choice for active colder days - winter running, cross country skiing, and such. And a tip: because it's not quite a tight, you can layer it over something like Smartwool's Intraknit Merino 200 tight when you need more insulation. But it's also a fitted enough cut that you can add some zip-off track windbreaker pants or even full-on ski pants when the temperatures get really grim, or in the morning before the day warms up.
A great flexible choice. I'd just love to see some colors available. Inseam seems a little longer than you might expect for the waist size. I'm 5'11", ~155 lbs and the size small is otherwise good (even with my cyclist's thighs and calves).

Love the pants. Well made and comfortable. While the size chart recommended size Small, I went with Medium and they fit perfectly. 5'10", 165lbs

The husband wears these to run in during the colder months in New England and prefers these over any other cold weather tight or pant that he owns. I just bought him a second pair as the first pair held up so well. Keep up the high quality, Smartwool!

GREAT running pants from 50 degrees to below zero! Super comfortable, wind resistant and warm! Nothing like merino wool! Get 'em before they sell out again this year!
