One of the warmest pieces of gear I've ever owned. Perfect crag life in the winter, or just being outside for extended periods of time

A great addition to my winter clothing gear - I tend to winter backpack just wearing softshell pants, but once stopped for the day an extra layer (or two!) is often needed when the temperature plummets. The MH down pants are easy to get on over pants, are low volume (so can be worn under rain pants if additional insulation is needed) and are cozy & warm. They pack down to a reasonably compact size and are lightweight.

I just bought a new pair of these for 50% of marked coat. What a deal! Couldn't afford them otherwise. There was only one pair left, a size XL. I normally wear a size L but have been looking for a pair of down pants at an affordable price I decided to try them on and they fit perfectly. So for those people complaining about tight fit and crotch splitting I sugyyou get a pair one size larger than your normal size. Mine weighted in at 8.9 oz so even lighter than advertised. Got the green surplus (who comes up with color names) and love them. Now I'm definitely ready for some back woods winter camping.

i'm 6'5 with 34+ inseam, the long length sold me. ironically the women's version was on deep sale so i bought them to compare against men's version - they're just a tad roomier in the butt/thighs which is perfect for athletic guys - otherwise seems identical in waist and length. agree with other reviewers that the ankle/calf tapers to be pretty tight, but it helps keep the heat in. i'm 180lbs, 32-33 waist, medium fits nicely.

Just waiting for more colors to come back in stock seems it's down to only two now for pants. I have two pairs and want more. I love these pants and jackets, lots of warmth for the weight and super comfortable.

These have been the piece I've been looking for. Not for every day, but they're amazing for multi-day ski tours when you want to be toasty in the evening, and for cold days teaching avy courses when I have periods of standing while students work. They pack small enough to fit in any touring pack and are worth something triple their weight or size.

My legs get very cold after a few hours of winter fly fishing or sitting in a duck blind, even when wearing a base layer and waders. I own a Ghost Whisperer hooded jacket and thought the pants would provide the same level of warmth and I was right. The pants are very comfortable, breathable and warm. My waders slide on and off very easily and I like the way the pants stuff into a small stuff sack. My only complaint is the small two way zippered fly but it's no big deal. All in all I'm delighted with my Ghost Whisperer pants and jacket.

I normally wear size Lg long in most alpine climbing pants and found that I needed to order an XL in these pants. They fit great, super comfortable and light weight. The double slider zipper should both have a cord attached instead of only one but I am sure l can find one to attach to the bottom zipper pull. I recommend these pants for using under a pant shell ice climbing or alpine climbing.

I bought the black last year and then the green and maroon this year I don't take them off. They somehow are perfectly comfortable all day, inside a 68 degree house on the flip side, if it time to go out and shovel snow or hook up the generator they keep more warm and able to move with ease. I even wear them for day to day going to the grocery store, out and about -wore them to poker the other night and had two grown men buy them while at the table. Buy them, you won't regret it. You don't need to be camping in the deep woods and climbing mountains to enjoy the benefits of these gems. I am 180 lbs, 32 inch waist, 5'11", athletic sized legs and the M fit perfectly.

The Ghost Whisperer pants are the best! Super light, warm when necessary but not too warm. Tapered modern fit but just loose enough to wear MH base layers under. They pack down to the size of your fist. The added lower leg zipper in version 2.0 of this pant is awesome- I had the seamstress add zippers to the first model- and wrote MH about it- they listened! This pant is an absolute core essential part of my apparel on scouting trips and life as a outdoor industry professional. I'm 5'8" 155 athletic build and the Medium Short is perfect! Only complaint? MORE COLORS PLEASE- I have them all! Thanks MH- the Ghost Whisperer line is unbeatable and MH is the best apparel company in the biz!

First all, trying to find ladies down pants is very difficult. I ended up ordering a small in mens hoping they would be a bit longer anyways since the ladies version look quite short (not sure the point of having down pants that go above the ankle???). They are a little on the large size but I kept them since I will usually have long johns underneath and who cares if they are not as trim as the ladies photos show. I am buying these to stay warm, I don't really care how fashionable they look. Will use them for backpacking, bikepacking and to carry in my ski pack as an emergency layer. Heck, I will wear them whenever I am cold (which is all the time)! Am 5'6, 125 lbs, 29 waist if that helps anyone out. Length is great, just a little baggier around the groin area which makes sense as these are mens... in all a reason great down pant!!

Super warm, ultra-light, however I feel like the geometry is off. I've ripped the crotch on these something fierce. There's not nearly enough flex room for moving around or activities. If I hold the fabric back in place like it was originally sewn I can't really move my hips without putting a lot of pressure on the seams. It needs a gusset added to really be usable.

Warm and comfy when camping, Great for thawing out after hitting the river. Wouldn't mind some tougher material on the tush so sitting down on the ground didn't worry me.

Amazing pants! Very tight around the calves which isn't ideal for use with ski/snowboard boots, but thankfully they are zippered. Would recommend. Great look for strutting around the bar for apres ski as well!
