The back of this shoe is very hard, not flexible at all. It gave me blisters. It's not because the shoes are to short for me, they just do not have any flexibility and causes the back of my foot a lot of pain

I buy NB for tennis. NB has always given me a roomy toebox and just the right amount of lateral motion support. Not these. Narrow and absurdly stiff. Sad because they are cute. They're going back.

My favorite light & comfortable tennis shoe but don't like the busy color. Wish it would be available in white again. I can't find it anywhere.

The shoe is short from the bottom/sole to the top of the foot. I made the mistake of not wearing this shoe and saving it. Now the shoe that I really wanted in Sept. is in stock again and because of the timing NB will do nothing. Lesson learned! I love the Fresh Foam X Lav V2!

I have bought fuel cell tennis sneakers for years. Now the inside profile is high and rubs on inner ankle. Why did you change the height profile? Super disappointed in the change.

I use them for tennis. This is the same shoe and size I've been ordering for awhile. I think my third or fourth pair. This one has caused blisters on the bone next to my big toe and overall discomfort in the toe box area. I don't think I will order them again. Too painful to break in.

I am returning this shoes. It looks like but the fit is not match for my feet. These shoes are very narrow even for my regular size 6 feet

I found these shoes to be very hard and a bit small/narrow. Pushed on my foot too much. Had to return them.

Even though I ordered wide they fit too narrow. They look soft but feel like they have plywood in the sides, fit too narrow, stiff and painful, no way were these wide compared to the 1006 which is a great shoe.

I have worn the New Balance 996 (all versions and loved them all) for the last 7 years. But I hate these shoes. My first day in them I ruptured my Achilles. Probably not the shoe's fault, but these are too stiff, and much stiffer than previous versions. I threw mine in the garbage. Not sure I'll buy New Balance tennis shoes again after this.

I usually have to order in wide width from new balance as your regular tends to run small/tight There was no wide available for this shoe so I tried the regular and it was so painfully uncomfortable and felt super small Had to return

I have worn New Balance shoes for years - in fact they are the only shoes I wear. I purchased the 996v4.5 in an 8.5 wide for playing Pickleball. They felt a little tight so I wore them in the house to break them in. My first time on the court, the shoes gave me a blister on my big toe. These shoes are not a wide with at all. I don't know what New Balance has done to their sizing, but their shoes no longer work for me. Wish they made an extra wide tennis shoe.

I am a huge fan of New Balance, but this tennis shoe did not meet expectations. Runs very small, heavy and not very flexible.

I'm so disappointed as I used to be such a fan of New Balance shoes for tennis though after trying the latest pair--I was genuinely shocked. They ran at least a full size too short though what was worse was that the wide width wasn't even close to a regular width... these fit like a AA shoe a full size (not a half size) down. I had previously bought them in a half size up, which I have never had to do for New Balance before and found that they ran narrow in the wide width though they're not comfortable and there is not enough cushion and the half size up runs too long. So, I'm trying different socks to make those work though I'm truly dismayed as my go-to shoe brand is no longer wearable for me. : ( Not sure what changed though it's leaving a void.

I've worn New Balance for years - always order wide or extra wide. Ordered these in extra wide, and they are not even close. These are not even wide shoes - extraordinarily small and narrow. Also, the shoes are each a different color - one black, one red - although the laces on the red shoe look navy. It's really all kinds of jacked up ..... pretty sure I wouldn't have ordered them had I known that. Regardless the fit is horrible, so they're being returned.
