One star for this coat sadly because for $250 one expects the zipper to work like a dream. The zipper is very sticky and catchy--ultimately I realized it was defective and off track. Other than that it's a beautiful coat--very stylish. I got many compliments on it. It's very very warm in addition to the huge plus of being waterproof.

I am 5'5" 120lb with a narrow build, and the small fit me well. This is a nice-looking coat with a lot of features I was looking for, however it had two big flaws: the front pockets are too high to put your hands in, and I much prefer snaps to the hook and loop closure. I really liked the way the sleeves went down over the hands, and I loved the internal media pocket. Also, it seemed like it would be a nice weight for when it is in the 40s or 50s.

I have this parka and it runs big. I’m 5’5 and ordered a large and I may have been able to size down. Overall it’s warm and comfortable.

Zipper Sucks. Cheap and never worked out of the box. Don't do it!

Commute to the city via train and scooter daily. This coat definitely helps kill the chill in the morning and evening.

This is a great jacket for west coast rainy damp living. It is **not** warm enough for eastern NA winters. Vancouver winter is -2 on it's bad day, it's damp and windy most days. This jacket checks all those boxes! It is made more of a boxy / masculine style, which can allow for great movement, or layering - key to being warm in damp weather. Draw string can allow you to pull in at your waist to create a more defined look. I wish the hood covered your head more, however that's an all around TNF product problem (for me). Sleeve length is long enough, nothing gets in, pockets aren't over done, convenient pocket inside chest. I chase my toddlers all day in this, so movement is key! I score this one a buy again, above all my TNF jackets (I have tons!!).

This is a nice, casual jacket for before the temperature drops into freezing temperatures. (Then I revert to a North Face down-filled jacket that’ll keep you warm regardless of how cold it gets.) The hood will protect your hair in rain even if you want to forgo an umbrella for quick jaunts from the car to a store door. The olive green color I purchased is very nice, but I’d suggest a pashmina scarf in a bright color from Etsy to allow the jacket to seem more than just practical.

Very stylish jacket and water proof. Pretty warm but not as thick as other north face parkas in my experience. But would buy again!

Fits very large. Bought my normal size in North Face and when I tried it on it was so oversized that I needed to return. Also, the jacket is very puffy and not at all fitted like the model in the photo. Not a great look. Color was very accurate for the green color and very pretty.

I bought this coat for my oldest grand daughter, 12, but her mother ended up wearing it because it is so much warmer than the coat she was wearing. She said it is light weight and very warm.

It's light weight and extremely warm. I do layer up underneath because I run cold but for someone who runs cold this does the job. It's way warmer than I expected it to be.

Nice jacket. The front pockets are a bit yo get used to ask you can’t put your hands in the pockets, but are great to hold things. Jacket is a great weight and comfortable in 20 degree weather. Ordered an xl and fit perfectly - typically am a size 14 and pear shaped. Zipper broke 3 weeks after buying.

I'd been searching for a parka to wear when I take my dog out early morning and at night. Something to throw on over pjs and be snug as a bug. I looked at competitor options and decided on this one, knowing full well I wouldn't like the pockets. And that is the only complaint I have about this coat. The pockets should be placed on the side for easy and natural access, otherwise this parka gives toddler or infant coat vibes, which looks silly. That said, I do love everything else about this coat so much that if TNF changed the placement of the pockets next year, I'd likely buy another

DON'T buy this coat unless you want to spend 10 minutes trying to get it zipped and unzipped The zipper was off-track and impossible to zip because the velcro tabs kept sticking. Also the annoying velcro tabs catch on your knitted or wool mittens and hat. For $250, one would expect a top-of-the-line zipper that works like a dream. That said, it is very attractive, waterproof, very very warm and the perfect length.

I had a North Face parka for 8+ years that I was obsessed with, but it was time to upgrade - so I purchased this one as it looked perfect for cold weather (Saskatchewan winters) while being less bulky than the Arctic Parka. It is BEAUTIFUL and feels light while also keeping me toasty. I get complements every time I wear it. Unfortunately after a month, the jacket has begun to pill in multiple locations (shoulder and arms near the wrist) due to the soft material touching the velcro pieces. I am currently waiting on response from warranty, thankful North Face offers this! But would not recommend for the cost compared to the diminished quality. This bad boy didn't last a month, let alone 8 years like my previous parka!

I read all of the reviews on this parka, and yet I still purchased it hoping it wouldn't be as bad as described. I own several TNF coats, jackets and parkas. The zipper on this parka does not work very well (gets stuck and requires several repeated attempts to zip up properly) and the velcro closures stick to everything (clothes, gloves) when trying to zip up the parka. Also, I couldn't get over the awkward pockets. Like everyone else, I am used to a pocket where you can simply slip your hands in from the side. You cannot do this simple action with this parka because they are upright, needing to place hands from the top, which nobody can comfortably do. I wish TNF would design a modern sleek insulated rain jacket without all of the design flaws featured in this parka. Sadly returning it.
